Well, I don't think that 32 is reasonable, 16 make more sense.
This is only the first snapshot, they will add and fix tons of stuff in the next snapshots.

The server will be on sometimes, so I suggest you to add it and just wait until it on and then connect, although I think it will be on more that 2 hours a day.

I don't support your suggestion because I don't want to, because you write in your post that every argument for unsupporting isn't right.
And if you think that everything should be implimented to minecraft because it is a sandbox game, so lets impliment all the annoying mods that no one want and say that minecraft is a sandbox game and FTW.
The furniture that we have now, is quite enough for me.
Every item that you suggested, can be built with the stuff we have in the unmodded minecraft.
