posted a message on 1.2 save needs help converting/fixing
Haven't played minecraft in quite awhile but it's entertaining so i play when i have free time every now and then, however i had an old save back from like 1.2 or so on that i can't get to run on the new version and it tells me "must be converted" under the save game name but i don't know how to do that. I've tried several things but still can't fix the problem.

(not running any mod's btw just have a skin right now)

heres the crash report from the crash folder

I'm not sure y but in a certain area for some reason it won't let me plant roses next to each other in a small area in my castle (its on dirt and it has no borders) i even moved the dirt blocks to one block further back and it still has same problem. anyone know y they're breaking each other?

You could just make a fence around your town. The animals wouldn't be able to get back in because they would no longer randomly spawn on the grass inside the fence.

But that defeats the pleasure of making a population extinct now doesn't it?

Thats the idea at least but inevitably pigs would still exist it would just help with keeping pesky animals out of your village because lets face it being an overlord demands perfection even if the houses are empty lol

Possibly but it doesn't mean the diamond golem doesn't break it just means it doesn't do any damage to the player and since it takes alot of diamond to make diamond armor it would be assumed that it would take more diamond to make golem. So i think its fair the the player who spent the diamond that they wouldn't take any physical damage but the golem (diamond) would still break. Much like regular armor as you go up in different types (materials) golem then you get more uses out of the golem but like i sugested eariler to prevent it from being infinate make hands for picks and just change hands out.

**Note** when i say from Gold golem: defends for 1.5 damage (damage over is taken from health) i don't mean from golem health i mean from player health golem no matter what type always takes damage from being hit or explosions

    Quote from ArowanaW

If you really want it to be realistic, you'd have to make the hostile mobs spawn using this way as well. Plus let's face it: Sheep attacking predators back is not how the population of predators is going to be kept at bay. In the actual nature it's a constant system of a few steps:
    -Wolves hunt sheep
    -Wolves are able to reproduce
-There are too many wolves, and not enough sheep
    -Wolves starve
-Due to the absence of wolves, sheep are able to reproduce
    -Repeat.

So you'd have to make the Hostile mob spawn so that they can only reproduce when the parents are wellfed. Only then can you get a real ecosystem. But that'd not account for the player's influence. Because since the minecraft world is terribly small and there don't spawn that many mobs, the player could easily eradicate any species he doesn't like.

Um...Small? if you tried to walk minecraft it would take 820 hours from center to get to the far lands so what part of that is small?

posted a message on Armor with different purposes
Interesting idea but i would also like things like light armor and heavy armor. Obivously heavy armor is more protection but you can't run as fast and jumping over gaps is out of the question while light armor is less protective but allows you to run faster and jump further.

for skeletons i would add range protection that involves arrows and bones so you get 50% protection

Instead of amor plating on chest have different armor types for the golem with different materials so it protects you.

    Example:
Cobblestone golem: no protection to chest
Iron Golem: prevents .5 heart damage (damage over that is taken from health)
Gold Golem: prevents 1.5 heart damage (damage over that is taken from health)
Diamond golem: 100% protection from any damage

Instead of animals attacking each other if there are to many wouldn't it just be easier if they stoped spawning once a certian amount filled (example) 20x20 area. One of the big things 2 is that healing has to be instinanous so gradual heal from beef isn't possible but the addition of beef would allow the creation of new recipes so thats a plus to the new item. i think it would be nice to if you could herd animals to grow them in a "farm" fenced off so they can't escape and this allows person to more reasonable find the animals. granted to implement this you would have to decrease the spawning rates to balance.

It would probably be better balanced if instead of an optionial set of items to repair it it involeved a set list of items

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ITS SIMPLISITY
    cobblestone: 30
    Iron: 15
    Diamond: 9
    Gold: 3
    Soul sand: 1
