I think that there are a few effects that should be added to hay bales. When placed, they could possibly be made to heal nearby animals so that your stables can automatically heal your horses from any damage they may have taken while being ridden (fall damage most likely). They could also make animals "fatten" so that they drop more food and other items upon death, and they could make baby animals grow faster. With these properties, though, Mojang may have to nerf them a bit in order to make it less OP. Maybe, when in the presence of animals, the bales would slowly be eaten away, like when you eat a slice of cake, that way you have to keep your fields and stables well stocked with hay.

Just a few ideas that I have, and I honestly feel like they would be very helpful if added. It would certainly make the hay bale as a block much more functional.

I really want Mojang to do something special with hay bales. I was thinking that, when placed as a block, it would heal any nearby farm animals (horses, cows, chickens, etc.) with no visible effect, allowing you to make up for having to occassionally punch an animal to get it off of a fence or anything else of that nature. Another example: your horse has gone on quite a journey with you and so has taken a signifigant amount of fall damage. Then, instead of feeding it hay, you could put it in a stable stocked with hay bales that will slowly heal your trusty steed. Like I said, it might be better if there was no visible representation of this effect, but that's just me. If it is found that a heart particle effect (similar to love mode hearts) is neccessary, then so be it. Another possible effect is that it would "fatten" any nearby food source animals so that they would produce more drops when slaughtered (and chickens would lay eggs more often) or possibly make baby animals grow up faster. I would love it if Mojang would do these things. They just seem like good ideas.

You should make some type of thing that is put on a rail and is used to transport mobs underwater from land. I know there are many ways to do this using what is already in the mod, but there should be one you made so that it looks cool.

I apologize for my last comment, I had not seen all of the other comments, including the one where you said mod compatibility wouldn't work unless specifically coded. It's just that I was playing Mo Creatures by DrZhark and I thought it would be cool to explode the mobs in it, because there were so many of the mod mobs that I had to actively search for a vanilla mob to detonate.

Quick suggestion- why not add code to the mod that makes it compatible with any other mod? The way I see it, it would be relatively simple: any mob from any other mod would be explodable. The explosion size would be related to how big the mob is, explosion strength would be related to how much damage the mob can do (there would be a default strength for passive mobs), and the items produced would be related to the drops and the probability of said drops that the mob has. I don't know if this would be possible in JavaScript (I know nothing about computer programming), but it's just a thought. But even if it isn't, this is still one of the coolest mods I have ever seen. Keep up the good work! ;D

posted a message on Mo' Creatures - v12.0.0 for Minecraft 1.12.1!! Now Opensource!!
Hey DrZhark, I am having some problems. I updated to 1.5 and got Mo Creatures for it, and when I play, nothing spawns. Sure, all my tamed animals as well as vanilla animals are there, but they were there when I last logged off, and nothing new is spawning, not even monsters at night. It's like it's on peaceful or something, but it isn't. I checked all of the CustomMobSpawner settings and nothing was out of the ordinary. I checked my difficulty level. The only other mod I have is NotEnoughItems, which, just in case that you somehow don't know about it, is like a combination of TooManyItems and RecipeBook, and therefore adds no new mobs or items to the game. I do recall seeing a small error message as I first logged in after I updated, something about item or mob IDs. I just logged in anyway, since that seemed to work in the past. Do you know what might be wrong? :(
