    kcauldron's website:
    https://prok.pw/index.html

"KCauldron is minecraft server designed for large public servers that can handle huge amount of players. It supports Forge for in-game modifications and Bukkit for plugins.
Combinations of these two lead to awesome results."

If you want to setup a modpack server + bukkit plugins, you need this kcauldron file.

posted a message on I'm bored with Minecraft, should I try Minecraft Mods?
Thank you Jung! BTW thats Direwolf20 1.6.4 <--- important to remember when downloading the mod pack through feed the beast as it lists two separate DW20 packs. Our server that Jung mentioned is largely Adult/Military Community (www.derkcraft.enjin.com) and we play other games together as well.

IMO When my husband first showed me mods I kinda just said meh and turned my head...at the time I was all about the building so the only thing I was truly interested in is when he said I had all different types of blocks I could now build with...I fought long and hard for a good year not to use those pesky mods on our server but after awhile I gave it a shot.

I was completely blown away by the amount of satisfaction i got just by making machines and connecting things and making stuff work, i'm not gonna lie I'm still pretty clueless about most mods but I sorta like it that way...the world feels a little bit in a sense.

What I like about these prebuilt modpacks...most of the time the bugs are already worked out so you don't have anything to worry about...yeah you're using a launcher blah blah but it does all the work for you and then you don't have to wonder if you've screwed something up during an install and you can easily enable and disable any mods you would like to use on single player and always remember just because you're played a modded server does not mean you HAVE to play with the mods, its still minecraft and you get to choose what you want.

Also the beauty of it all...each modpack can be a totally different game...or it can just be vanilla if you wish but for each multiplayer server you connect to, even if its the same modpack its a totally different game if you choose not to stick with just vanilla.

I agree. lets look at the poll results:
It seems like a hassle to install Minecraft mods 12 votes
...other results are average 3 votes.

Murder, I was on the same boat. The above poll were actually my reasons why i didn't play with mods a year ago. My friends have showed me in recent months that all those reasons are invalid.
    - I can easily see that a lot of players play it, just searching for multiplayer mod servers yields hundreds of active servers. Even this forum site will showcase some mods on the front page
    - Its easy to install mods, this definitely contributed to why theres so many players playing in these mod servers. Mods are not a hassle when you have 1-click install programs that does the work.
    - You are not forced to try to learn a whole different game, it is still minecraft. You are still building.
    - I was surprised to how welcoming lots of communities are, I thought that I had already know everything to be accepted into servers or communities. I was wrong.
    - If anyone is interested, I can recommend different servers i've played on that are interested in new players.

Ive played mods before, but never in survival or on a server, I like mechanical mods, like buildcraft and big reactors, I've also heard AE and others are good. Basically, do you know of any good modpacks/servers that would be good for my first time in modded survival?
PS: I also have no experience with survival servers at all.

My friend xxMurderTrampxx has a server that is looking for new players to play in you can check her out: http://derkcraft.enjin.com
They use the popular launcher: Feed The Beast (download it free from google)
When you open it for the first time, you will see a list of popular modpacks, download the modpack called: Direwolf20
The IP address is located in their frontpage of the website.

posted a message on MC server staff experience - not relevant?
Does being a staff on other servers give you any credibility?

Today, I have had several minecraft players join my server impatiently asking to help out and be a staff. They claimed to be admins/mods from other servers. I politely told him they can play on my server and if I need help, I will be willing. Shortly after, they left... A staff member in my server serves as players with extra volunteer responsibilities. Usually, staff players are the ones that are enforcing rules or are promoting good players and kicking bad players. Being a staff on another server does not really grant you credibility. Each server is run differently and players staff experience from those servers can never be compared.

The pitches I receive from members and my thoughts:
"I am a staff member on TEN servers right now"
My interpretation on that is his/her attention is divided across many servers. That player probably only spends a few minutes. I would rather have a member who has their full attention on my server.

"I earned the rank moderator / Administrator"
I disgree with this statement. Moderators and Administrators shouldn't be an earned rank. That is the taboo that comes with those ranks as if they are a better, skilled player. Nope... as I said before, mods and admins have extra work responsibility who spend less time playing and more time managing. It is a chore. In my server, mod and Admin rank is an asked favor and some of my friends who support me acquire those ranks.

"I know how to use minecraft commands I SHOULD be a mod/admin"
My answer is similar to what I said earlier. If I, the server owner need extra help, I will ask for it and you have a choice to accept it or not.

    "Why can't I be a mod/admin I am a good player!!!!! *cries*"
Lots of kids will interpret refusals as condescending and I try very hard to be polite about it. Once in awhile when I refuse something or do not want to accept help, I thank the kids for offering to be staff and that they are more than welcome to stay here and continue playing. I also remind players that being a good player doesn't mean

    "Since I am not a mod/admin, I can't help out"
In my server, ever member is essentially a mod. Some rules I have are: (a). Offer assistance to those that need help. (B) Report all griefs and misconducts. We are one community that wants to play minecraft without any. My members are essentially mods because we help each other out.

What do you guys think about the word: Mod/Admin and what does it mean to you in the context of Minecraft servers, other video games servers, and then other general social places that uses mod/admins like forum sites.
    Discuss!

posted a message on Did You Ever Delete A World Out of Rage?
I remember deleting a world when coming back to my server thats had a group of ppl creating lots of tnt and exploding it all over many towns. Super raged I deleted the world and started reading about bukkit and their wonderful plugins.

I now have a full, competent staff on 24/7 using the powerful bukkit plugins (anti-grief, block rollback, no fire spread, etc) I do not have to worry about any of that :)

posted a message on Bukkit Community - unsung heroes of Multiplayer Minecraft
    http://i.imgur.com/nklvQ.jpg
"Remember: It costs nothing to encourage an artist, and the potential benefits are staggering....Discourage an artist, you get absolutely nothing in return, ever."

I just wanted to shed light that almost every great multiplayer server out there is using CraftBukkit and plugins. CraftBukkit on server provides these multiplayer enhancements:
    - color chat and ranks
    - Making your chests private and unbreakable
    - enabling rpg stats when using tools
    - setting warp in several places and teleporting to them
    - purchasing items and blocks using virtual money
    - anti-grief security and grief-rollback capability
    - battle arena servers
    - hunger games servers
    - forge and tekkit
    - everything else

A lot of big, popular servers would install these plugins and profit from them. I'd like anyone who is playing on Minecraft servers that can do this, to thank the developers who made it possible. Millions of Minecraft players wouldnt have enjoyed this game if all of these features did not exist

    How to thank the developers:
    1. staff of craftbukkit
    a. goto this site: http://forums.bukkit.org/XenStaff/
    b. login and send a positive private message to the admins and staff of your appreciation of Craftbukkit.

    2. Plugin developers of Bukkit
    a. goto this site: http://dev.bukkit.org/
    b. search for the plugins that are used on the servers you play on.
    c. send a positive private message to the plugin creator. Share them your fun experiences and your appreciation of their plugin.

These people do not get enough appreciation and it is time to show them that their work is NOT IN VAIN!
