Say goodbye to those ugly and boring squidward-nosed villagers! Minecraft Comes Alive (MCA) aims to give Minecraft's villagers an expanded use within the game by transforming them into humans.
Follow/subscribe to @SheWolfDeadly for MCA updates, and awesomeness in general!
You can also download MCA and RadixCore via CurseForge. CurseForge may not always have the latest versions of MCA.
If you don't see the links to CurseForge just above, there may be issues with the downloads at the moment. Use other download button.
Unfortunately there's always the chance of running into a bug while playing MCA. You have five options when reporting a bug.
Do nothing - That's right. If your game crashes while you are playing, you don't have to tell us. We will automatically be notified and your crash report will be sent to us. If you never make it into the game, though, we won't receive that, so let us know you are having that sort of issue!
Post on this forum page - Myself or mezzodrinker will likely respond within a few hours. If you receive no response, post again. If you have a crash report, please surround it with spoiler tags so that the forum can be kept nice and tidy.
Create an issue on GitHub - This requires a GitHub account, which is free. We usually respond within a few minutes. You will also be automatically notified when the issue is fixed. Please include your Minecraft version and MCA version. Go to our Issue Tracker to create an issue.
Send a private message - You can send your question or bug report via private message to me here on the forums. While I may not respond, all private messages are read.
Support MCA by pasting one of these banners into your signature! We'd gladly accept any more that are made.

MCA is licensed with the MCA Minecraft Mod license, previously GPL v3. This license is available here. It is simple to understand, but here it is in bullet-point form.

About the Mod
The Lord of the Rings Mod is a huge expansion for Minecraft that aims to add the world of Middle-earth into the game. This will include content from J. R. R. Tolkien's most famous work, The Lord of the Rings, and from other related tales such as The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.
The mod has been in development since December 2012, with a great amount of planned features yet to come in the future. New updates are published frequently - usually every couple of months.
If you are interested in following the progress of the mod, go to our Facebook page, where we showcase new content for upcoming updates. You can also give feedback there, and submit suggestions. Please read the FAQ before submitting a suggestion!
The official wiki is the place to go if you want to learn about the mod and its contents, or find a server to play on. You can also post suggestions, bug reports, and discuss all sort of things on the wiki forums.
The main features in the mod so far are:

The Ranger Malvegil is developing a plugin for Not Enough Items (NEI) for use with the Lord of the Rings Mod, that shows crafting recipes on Middle-earth tables, barrel brewing recipes, and other recipes from the mod. Thanks, Malvegil!
You can find the forum thread for this plugin here, with downloads and information.
Note that this plugin is not affiliated with the LOTR mod: you should report any problems, crashes, etc. to them, not to us.
Some people have expressed interest in donating to the mod, so if you want to donate, here are some fine buttons with which to do so.
TheAtlanticCraft's Fellowship modpack includes the Lord of the Rings Mod along with over 50 other mods, and they have dedicated public servers running the pack. The link goes to their Minecraft Forums thread which has all the links and information you should need to download and install the modpack. Please note that feedback/bug reports/other issues concerning the Fellowship modpack should be discussed on their forums and websites, and not on this forum post.
If you want to create and publish your own modpack including the mod, you don't need to ask for my permission, but you must credit me as the author of this mod and provide a link to this post. It's only fair!
(If the modpack is just for private use, i.e. it won't be posted anywhere for the public to use - such as for your own use and a small group of friends on a private server - there's no need to do that.)

I have spent a lot of time developing this mod and some people have asked if they can donate but I believe in making mods for fun and do not wish to make money from it.
However if you really would like to make a donation then I recommend making a donation to Vexx32, who will use it to buy minecraft gift codes for people! This way your good will can go towards helping someone to play the game. It has come to my attention that Vexx is no longer maintaing his thread, so I will think about an alternative for the future.
Thanks to the MCP team and everyone who's given suggestions and feedback. Special thanks to AJFire for making the original mod logo and providing the german translation. Thanks also to Chokapix for the french translation, kamild1996 for the Polish translation, Dyon123 for the dutch translation, agubelu for the spanish translation, eXtendZero for the Ukrainian translation, and Gorlem for updating the german translation for 1.4!
Enjoy! Please post feedback, comments, abuse here.
I’ve stopped developing this mod for 2 reasons:
1 - I'm done with Minecraft, having played it since alpha 1.1.2_01. I've experienced everything this game has to offer. Since Minecraft was released (end of beta) it has become way too diluted for its simple outset. Almost everything that has been released since is just content and no new gameplay experiences. Every time I play I get irritated by the amount of lost potential and it makes me want to create a complete overhaul mod, though I simply don’t see that happening.
2 - The community. The immature, the trolls, the griefers, etc. This community is full of them and they’re ruining it for the rest of us. Now I get it, I like to let loose and have a laugh every once in a while myself. But the amount of stupidity on display is just cringe worthy. The signal to noise ratio is too low and finding good quality content is difficult.
Is this the end for Advanced Hud?
Update: Maxpowa is now developing the mod.
No. As of this post Advanced Hud is public domain, meaning it’s yours to do with as you wish. I won’t release the source though, as I’d rather have someone experienced working on the mod. Also my code shouldn’t be used as training material as it contains a ton of bad habits. Hurry up though, as I’ll be taking the downloads offline next month (June 30th)
Version 2 of this mod is in the works, but until then enjoy the 1.5.1 version of the Flashlight Mod!
The Flash Light Mod is an epic, new mod that adds dynamic flash lights to the game!

[Update] November 12, 2015: Uploads are now working.
[UPDATE!] November 10, 2015: Wow! I didn't plan on being gone that long! But, I'm back, and I've brought the mod back with me! New uploads aren't being processed at the moment, so the mod will only work for people that have used it in the past. If that's you, head on over to my last post in the thread where you can grab a beta version of the mod for Minecraft 1.8!
Also, as a bit of a side note, it seems like the 1.8 update contained code specifically designed to prevent skin/cape mods from working... It's not that easy to stop me Mojang!
[ UPDATE ] November 14, 2013:
The mod will be updated again at some point, but I don't know when. The past 6 months have been pretty rough for me, and I've made a lot of decisions that I regret. Stepping away from this was one of them. I've decided to completely start over from scratch this time. I've meant to rebuild the website a few times now, but it never gets finished. I feel like I can do it this time... like I have have to do it this time.. Because, quite frankly, coding about the only thing keeping me sane these days.I don't know how long this will take. The first version of the site was thrown together in a few hours, and that rough build has been coming back to haunt me in every update for nearly two years. Every update since then has just been tacked onto the old code, creating a huge mess when there are far more efficient ways it could have been done. I don't want to make that mistake again, so I won't be releasing anything until I have something stable, that can easily and safely been added to and modified in the future.I also need to work out a different hosting solution. The current one is too expensive, and relatively unreliable. For now, I'll keep this thread posted with any updates there may be. In the future, the news will be moved back to the main site. One final note: when things are a bit more complete, I'll be looking for a team of coders and moderators. Another lesson I've learned the hard way is managing a site with 32 thousand users is not a one man job.
