you should be able to if not i know there are some free ftp servers out there that you would be able to use, they might be slow but the capes shouldn't be that big of a file. even if they are im sure you can add something so that the first time they log in it downloads the cape and saves it to their computer, and from there maybe if the file is found on their computer it would automatically use that other wise default to the original.
Yeah the only way would be to change the code in the login class so that it points to a server where the skins/capes are stored. as long as you have the textures right it should just work but i could be wrong.
if you are using optifine then try changing chunk loading to multicore or smooth, other then that disable mods get a lower res texture pack and change the resoultion to about 1024*768 or 800*600 and play in full screen if it still lags try moving it down to 640*480.
I have a couple servers and i need some player for them! At the moment the servers are dead so you would have it to yourself until more people get on. Its community driven so you can do whatever you want within reason , think of it like a single player world but multiplayer! You do need to install one thing and run a .bat file that allows you to connect to the server. Haha i'll be posting them this weekend. I have most of them done now im just bugfixing them and making sure i didnt break the game. They are mostly features in the game that you can disable to save fps. And i also will have a couple that change the terrain generation mostly in the jungles. FPS 1.4.5++ http://adf.ly/FHbTC
Maybe hes busy or something it took me around 6hours to update it but was mostly do to myself screwing simple things up. if op dosent update it soon ill start a new thread and have a unoficial update for fps++ and some of my own fps boosters.
I dunno about that, perhaps i'll try it. But the 1.4.2 fps++ is working fine on 1.4.5. Or at least, without modloader or forge it's working.
Yes but its not doing anything they changed the way the classes are named again so fps++1.4.2 modifies jv.class which is MathHelper. Fps++1.4.5 modifes ke.class which is 1.4.5 MathHelper. So yes you can install and run the mod fine but its not really doing anything since the real Mathhelper is ke.class

fishtaco wasnt updating it and people wanted it so i decompiled it and recompiled it under MCP1.4.5. Its makes it so that fps++ actually works. If you dont trust it dont download it simple enough or scan it or decompile it and look at the code.

It should still work but it gives a IOExceoption error if you try to do it other ways.
Sometime soon ill post the update for craftbukkit but i need to decompile it and recompile it.
