It's completely possible, it's just that Mojang is too lazy to do it. Just, when the world is being generated, figure out when a mountain is being generated, find its peak, and if it's at or above a certain point, set the area around it to be a "Snow Mountain" biome. Problem = Solved.
No. Sorry, but no. The iPhone, Android, etc. don't have enough processing power and storage space to work with infinite worlds properly. It'll never happen.
Hello, everyone. I was messing around with redstone in the latest snapshot, and I discovered something quite odd, but potentially very useful: Instant transfer of a state change, using redstone blocks and pistons.
Here is how I found it:
In the image, you see a zipper of pistons, with redstone blocks, and a piston at the back. You'll also see a lever at the front of the piston chain.
What I've discovered is that this lever can transmit its state to the other end instantly. Note that this only happens when you turn the lever off. Transmitting of an 'ON' state takes much longer, I'm not sure why. When you power the first sticky piston, it pushes its redstone block forward, which causes the next one to extend, pushing its block, which powers the next, and so on, extending as far as you want it to. Now, at the other end, the final redstone block is pushed out, powering some redstone, which leads to the NOT gate.
All of this takes a while to do, usually a few seconds, so this is obviously not instant transfer now. However, when you flip the lever at the beginning of the chain so that it is not providing a signal to the first piston, an instant signal transfer occurs. All of the pistons in the row retract at once, and the NOT gate flips its position instantaneously, no matter how far away it is from the lever, within chunk loading distance, of course.
I don't know if anybody else has done this before, or if it is even practical, given the long time it takes to reset it; but I thought this was quite cool, so I wanted to share it with you.
Mojang is completely infallible, no doubt about that. They have never ed me off even once. I've ed myself off by dying, but that's a different story. EDIT: Oh, come on, man! Why you profanity block?
- YouTube Channel Link: http://www.youtube.c...edelicFlowerpot - What would you like?: I would like an avatar and a background, thanks. - Briefly Explain what you would like included:I would like a simple, light brown flowerpot on the left-hand side of the screen, with a rainbow-colored flower coming out. The flower should spew rainbows across the layout, with little multi-colored swirls randomly around. There should also be a couple of grass blocks, a rendition of the IndustrialCraft wrench, crossing the BuildCraft wrench, like two swords; as well as the Imperial symbol from The Elder Scrolls somewhere. The Rainbow-ness should fade towards the edge of the layout and become dark blue, and go to black at the bottom. - Briefly Explain the colour scheme: Explained above, however, make the colors of the rainbow muted a bit, as to not cause seizures.
EDIT: Oops, I forgot the Avatar. I just want a plant pot with a creeper peeking out of it.
First of all, I LOVE the sound blenders make, it's just so damn groovy. Second: Babies crying. Urgh. EDIT: Also, the sound of someone crushing ice with their teeth. Not sure why, but I can hear it from about fifty feet away, and it sets my teeth on edge.
