Definately not skill, but I love the challange of skywars. I think I am with you though, I do like survival (and by this I mean hardcore) more.

That is a great point. I do love both equally... I can definately see singleplayer as being a long-term thing, but I love the short-term challenge of getting good at multiplayer (skywars). I'm leaning on releasing 3 videos a week, 2 survival and 1 multiplayer to reflect that... basically focus on singleplayer. thanks for the advice :)

Yeah, thats what im figuring out. Its hard, because I just had a really cool idea for a survival video (start in beta 1.0 and make my way to current versions), but what your saying seems to be the common consensus.

Thats a good idea, however a) I don't really have many friends interested in survival, they like the hypixel pvp style and B) I do a lot of hardcore which makes multiplayer difficult (because everyone else usually dies before me) :P. I'll definately keep that in mind though.

So I've been making videos for about a month and I love it. The dilema is, right now I am playing even amounts of both single player (hardcore) and multiplayer (hypixel skywars). Should I generally stick to one or the other? I enjoy making both of them so much and want to progress in them. I don't know if it is the upload dates (I upload survival on Saturday's and hypixel on Thursday's), but generally I get a lot more views on my multiplayer videos. I'm afraid that after a while, skywars could just get monotonous, but I have a bunch of cool ideas (i.e. making my way through ranked as a newbie) but I'm seeing a lot less interest in my survival. So there are pros and cons to both. Is it okay to do both, or should I "niche" down on just one? I was thinking about uploading 3 days in which I could do survival monday and friday, and multiplayer on wednesday. What do ya think?

Any advice at all would be more than helpful! Thanks in advance!

posted a message on YouTube video ideas

    Hey guys,

I thought it would be kinda fun to make some videos, because in reality, what else am I going to do with my time. Im looking for ideas, but not really sure of any good original content. I would love to stick to vanilla Minecraft. I'm doing a let's play (hardcore) and hypixel skywars, but I feel like it's so overdone. I don't care if it's been done a lot, as long as there's an original way of presenting it (i.e. Luke the notables hardcore series - very original in presentation but not a new idea). I'm very open to any ideas. Let me know what you think.

How did you find TVE?: My previous server had the ip and I just saw it when I canceled my server
Reason you should be accepted: I absolutely love playing minecraft, especially with others. I love the community and seing eachothers creations while also making friendships.
Information about yourself: I am a collage student at Liberty University. I love many things outdoors and am just trying to get into skateboarding (I'm an avid longboarder). I also like mountain biking, camping, hammocking, bikepacking, etc. Basically, if its outside, then I'll love it. Also, Minecraft is the only real videogame in my opinion, but I do play others such as Borderlands, Just Cause, and a few others.

posted a message on Can create lan but cannot join lan.

Right away, sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread. Anyways, my brother and I have always loved playing Minecraft together, but it has been a hassle lately. First off, I just bought a brand new 2017 13" MacBook Pro. Now here are the issues.

When playing Lan on the network with the internet: When I host it, he sees it and can connect fine. When he hosts it, I have to do direct connect and that usually works.

When playing Lan on the network without internet: Again when I host it, he sees it and can connect. When he hosts it, I do my direct connect thing and it will say something like "Failed to connect: the authentication servers are down for maintenance".

I have never had this issue before and it is driving me nuts. He also has a MacBook Pro. I've set our settings identical. I've installed JAVA and have the latest version, firewall and FileVault are off, and as already mentioned I have to do the direct connect method. We don't get internet access up at our cabin so we used to set up a network, but that is no longer working unless I host the world which is not an option. I've already contacted Mojang and awaiting a reply.

posted a message on Minecraft - Can create lan but can't join lan

I just bought a new MacBook Pro 2017. I was excited because my last laptop struggled with Minecraft lans, but now I'm running into a new issue.

When I start a lan offline or online, he sees it (on his 2012 MacBook Pro) and can join it no problem.

When he starts an online lan, I do not see it but I can successfully use direct connect to put in his IP address and the port address (i.e. 192.168.43.84:485909)

When he hosts it offline and I try that same technique, it says something like "failed: authentication servers are down for maintenance".

    A. I would love to not have to put in the IP address every time

    B. I would love to be able to play offline, I always could with my other laptop (we don't have internet at home)

    Heres what I've already tried:

    Installed Java

    Re-installed Minecraft (multiple times)

Disabled firewall and fire vault (and also tried enabling firewall and allowing Minecraft)

Pluggin in through ethernet instead of over a network

    Restarting both computers

I've basically tried all the solutions. I can't find anything online with exactly the same issue unless it was 2 years ago.
