posted a message on Eressi Minecraft - Family Friendly Server
This server has been online for about a year, not sure why I never posted it before.

Eressi is a minecraft server for all ages
free to play * monitored * no griefing * no swearing

    Connect with address:
    mc.eressiminecraft.com

Survival - The core of the server is the survival multiplayer. Build a town, open a shop, or just wander and explore. Just a lot of fun in a mostly vanilla minecraft setting.

Creative - Go wild in creative mode. If you create something really cool we'll port it to survival. Our players have created most of the arenas on our arenas server and several of the buildings on our survival server.

Skyblock - If you want more of a challenge, head over to skyblock and see what you can do with just a tiny island in the sky with a tree on it. After 1.7 we are one of the few Skyblocks still functional.

Skygrid- Because you find Skyblock too easy... this has been described as 'Extreme Skyblock Death Parkour'. As far as we know we are the only server crazy enough to serve it up to the public. If you do decide to take on the challenge be prepared to die, a lot.

Factions - A political game of trying to control land. PvP is enabled in factions but attacking someone may not be the best idea, it may send your faction to war. War, politics, and intrigue is what factions is all about.

Hunger Games - Ready to get your PvP on? This is the place. Up to 24 players in a fight to the death. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Arena Games - Paste your friends with paintballs. Go team vs. team in Capture their Flag. Dump them into lava in Spleef. Cause them to fall 12 stories in King of the Ladder. Outrun, outwit, or just outlast them in TNT Run. Or, if you are into something a little more peaceful try our own custom game from the mind of one of our players and found nowhere else... Ocelot Round-up.

Adventure - Our current adventure is a challenging "superflat" build. Resources are limited, monsters are unlimited. Can you survive and make a home for yourself or will you be slimed!?

Ok, we have success. One little caveat that users will need to know about though. After asking for admin credentials it will (if you've never run minecraft as admin) tell you that there is no minecraft version directory. Have to change the folder path from ...\admin\... to ...\<username>\...

Thanks for quick response, you rock.

    posted a message on LiteLoader
When attempting to run liteloader-installer-1.6.2-00.exe on Windows7(x64) as a non-administrator account I am prompted for admin credentials (not sure why this needs it since Minecraft is in the user profile, but whatever). After providing the credentials I am immediately presented with an error dialogue window as follows:

    Window Title = liteloader-installer-1.6.2-00.exe - System Error
Window Text = The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

The .dll referenced is a Microsoft Visual C+ runtime .dll. I can understand how you as a developer would have missed this one since you likely have a full C+ library. I am not sure if the .dll is included in the installer and simply ending up in the wrong profile (admin rather than user) at runtime or if it is not included at all.

Ok, fully functional on Forge using the litemod mod that Groohm posted, just replace ModLoader with Forge in his steps there and works just fine. Not sure why the .litemod is not listed in the main topic post but thanks Groohm for linking it.

    Quote from hostx9

Finally I managed to make it work in Single Player (I didn't test it with forge but it might work. I also didn't test if it works on a server)

    1. Download this mods for 1.4.7:
    ModLoader
    LiteLoader
    Single Player Console

    2. Install the downloaded mods in the order listed above (if you use Zobe's modpack install it before installing Single Player Console!)

    3. Download the LiteLoader version of the WorldEdit CUI mod for 1.4.6 (found here) and put it in "%appdata%/.minecraft/mods/" (link provided by Chosen_One396 at this post, say thanks to him!)

    4. Put WorldEdit.jar in the "%appdata%/.minecraft/bin/" folder if you don't have it there already (tested with WorldEdit ver 5.4 and 5.5.1 found here and both works)

I was able to get the CUI to not crash with Forge. List of Mods shows it loaded but I don't get the wireframes. This may be because I'm on Minecraft 1.4.7 (not sure how to download an old version).

Anyway, the way that I got it to load is this:
    1. Downloaded both the Forge and the ModLoader versions
    2. Opened both archives (I used 7zip for this)
    3. Moved everything inside of the Forge.zip file up a level so that it no longer has the folder CUI-1.4.6-Forge at the root of the .zip but rather it has the CUI folder at the root.
    4. Copied the file mod_CUI_modLoader.class from the root of the ModLoader version to the root of the Forge version (the Forge version has no equivelant file in its root).
    5. Placed my newly modified .zip file into the mods folder and started Minecraft.

It appears to load but again I get no wireframes. I'm running Minecraft 1.4.7 and these .zip files are marked as 1.4.6 so I am not sure if that is the issue.

    Hopefully this helps you out.

posted a message on Change villager buying written book to book and quill
The argument is off the point. Whether or not a librarian would prefer a written book or not does not answer the question of whether or not the game is better (for everyone) with the change.

I propose that the game is better for the multi-player community with the change and has no impact on the single player community, Thus the game as a whole would be better with the change.

posted a message on Redstone Circuit Cancellation: Make an "off" switch, too
The solution to your problem is simple.

The 'off switch' at your door needs to be another circuit with a simple sticky piston. Have the piston push a block into place on a stepped circuit (not stepped like an electrical step circuit, but stepped like built on steps). Push a block into place to cut your circuit.

    Bridge Activated:

Flip the switch, it cuts the circuit but does not disturb your redstone circuit:

posted a message on Change villager buying written book to book and quill
Please change the librarian villager so that they no longer buy 'written book' and instead buy 'book and quill'.

The reason for this request is based in how users (players and server operators) use written books. In single player games it is irrelevant but on servers players write stories in books and thus want to widely distribute them at no or little cost. Server operators use written books to write rules and help manuals, again distributing them at no or little cost.

So, the librarian buying written books is economically devastating to the villager trade economy when the players can get an unlimited supply of written books at no cost.

Changing it to book and quill would make no effective change in single player (same effort) but keeps things from getting out of hand in multiplayer.

Edit to add: Villager buying written books is also potentially bad for adventure maps depending on whether or not villager trading is a part of the adventure.

I see in the FAQ where it says there is a server version, but I cannot locate a link. Can someone point me to it? (yes, I probably am blind, just throw me a bone).
