Something about you or why you want to join: My brother and I (dukeslayer) have been having a great time on another 1.10 server, but I has cancelled and shut down for no good reason. We have a bad taste in our mouth, but we'd like to try a new build on a new server. This one is exciting and looks great!

Maybe bring some dogs with you for company? (They will end up killing themselves more than likely).

I always block off sections of the cave I'm not working on so I know exactly where the mobs will come from if they come from anywhere. Also, watch out for kamikaze creepers in ravines. They will jump from the sides to the bottom and one shot you....

Thank you. VBOs has helped yet the frames are horrific. I have allocated more RAM to minecraft and it is running better now. I am sorry I didn't look at the FAQ. Is it normal to have such horrific frames as I did before allocating more RAM?

Can't seem to play the new update. When opening up the game, the menu runs at 1 frame per second. Starting a world, it builds terrain for longer than usual and then brings me to an invisible world where all I can see is the sky. After 5 seconds, I get this crash report:

What’s the most important rule?: Have fun, don't be a jerk, and use your brain.

    General Character Description:

    Backstory

Truth be told, my character had no need or want to come to Bide. Beau (My character's name) arrived in Bide against his will. Being an professional woodsman and hunter, Beau made his living by selling exotic and rare skins of monsters and wildlife. He was widely known in his home town as "The Coyote" due to his absence from the urban setting and his love for the outdoors and rural life. His storerooms held pelts upon pelts of wild creeper, life-like taxidermed giant and cave spiders, large racks full of endermen eyes and pearls, the rusted tools and weapons of fearsome zombies, mystic and ancient bows and bones of skeletal warriors, and a large container of slime to give examples of his work.

Travelling abroad to seal a deal with a potential customer, Beau was travelling with an explorer in his schooner. The holds were full of rare deep-cave creeper pelts, meaning the seller was very wealthy. In the second week of the journey, disaster struck. High sea pirates were spotted on the horizon early one morning and immediately gave chase. Though the schooner was fast, the single pirate vessel turned into a small pirate fleet. Smaller ships began sailing closer, and panic struck the crew. The explorers hired-hands were very green due to the minimal funds he had, and had little to no fighting experience. The single rear facing cannon was accidentally misfired, killing two men. Once that happened, all hope was lost.

A dense fog settled over the ocean waters, and the first pirate boarders launched their grappling hooks onto the sides of the vessel. Beau, who had been fast asleep until the cannon misfire, had just finished dressing and was hurrying to the deck when a grappling hook smashed through the wall next to him. Arriving on deck, he found a fierce sword battle. He spotted the explorer's head as it rolled across the deck, and Beau knew he had little time. Grabbing his flint and steel, he rushed to hold. Creeper pelts, especially deep-cave creepers, were as flammable as they were expensive. With such a large quantity, the reaction to fire would be explosive. Dribbling his flask onto the corner of the pile, he created a fuse of sorts by trailing it out the door and into the hallway. The sounds of fighting had stopped on deck, and he knew that would look for him soon. Lighting the end of the trail of dribble, Beau bolted for the exit. A few startled pirates were knocked over in his escape out, and he launched over the railing. Just in time too. The ship ruptured from below, spewing fire and smoke into the air. Flaming bodies were launched into the ocean, yet Beau was underwater. Coming up for air, Beau clung to a piece of wood from the wreckage and drifted away from the flaming ship.

    Current

He arrives now in Bide as a weary and lost man, washing up on shore and having no clue where he is. He hopes to find the pirate who attacked him, leading to the destruction of a ship, crew, and priceless pelts. He will pay for his crimes, and most certainly the loss of merchandise.

Beau is very good with his hands, and knows his way around a sword and bow. Being a hunter, he is also excellent at outdoor survival. He doesn't have a very civilized look to him, and is decently rough around the edges. He can keep cool, unless something of his possession is at risk. He is adventurous, but isn't very social. When he is, he likes to manipulate and think is way around. His temper can sometimes get the best of him. Can be found wearing his brown high-crowned, wide-brimmed sable fedora.

-A woman is in the middle of constructing a wall for the town she resides in. You see two other men doing the same in the distance. She spots you and is immediately hostile towards you, the wandering stranger. First, diffuse the situation and then take it from there.

Woman: *scowls, stepping down from what she is doing to face Beau's direction* This town has no use for a brigand like you!

Me: *stops and turns slowly to face the shouting woman* She must have noticed my sword and bow. Brigand huh?

Woman: That's right! I know a fighting man when I see one. I've never seen you in town and we don't need bandits around to steal our hard earned possessions!

Me: *looks at current attire, noticing the uncleanliness and roughness* I suppose I do look a little homeless. Not very kind of you to call out to a stranger like that, I suggest you learn to respect a bit, a mouth like that could get you in trouble.

Woman: *face scrunching in disgust* Respect?! Who are you to talk about respect!

*The men in the distance take notice of the shouting, stop what they are doing, and begin to walk towards the conversation.

Me: *takes note of the men approaching* Like I just said, that mouth could get you in trouble. *nods towards the approaching men*

Woman: *follows nod, seeing the men approaching. A smile opens on her face* Trouble for you, they're my sons. I suggest you get moving, they don't take kindly to rude strangers.

*The men approach, one holding a large hammer and the other a short-sword*

Brothers: Go ahead bandit, get moving.

Me: *holds ground for a moment* This day just keeps getting better. What could I possibly do to make you folks happy? I'm just moving through town, no need to yell and threaten.

Brothers: You can make us happy by leaving, our mother obviously doesn't like you. That means we don't like you. *The brother with the hammer takes a step forward, switching the hammer to his right hand*

Me: *Quickly half-draws sword from sheath, revealing the masterfully engraved hilt and perfectly sheen blade. Fire enters his eyes, as he juts his chin and stares directly into the eyes of the man that stepped forward*

All: *visibly step back and gulp. The man with the hammer drops it to the ground and flinches badly*

Me: *holds pose for several seconds, then slowly recedes the blade back into the hilt* I don't have the time or patience for this. As you wish.

Me: *spins on feet, continuing out of town and away from the startled group*

-A player who is RP’ing as an inventor is working on a prototype engine in his open air workshop located in town. Another player who plays a notorious street thug starts harassing the inventor for money and machine parts. Interact with them.

Thug: *placing hand on hilt of sheathed short-sword* I told you, I have my payment right here.

Inventor: *visibly gulps, eyes locked onto the sword hilt* I-I don't mean any trouble, like I s-said before. Just don't hurt m-m-me.

Me: *moves into doorway, facing behind the thug* You've got to be kidding me.

Inventor: *takes note of Beau's enterance, looking past the thug*

Thug: *following the inventor's eyes, ends up turned around looking at Beau*

Thug: I didn't plan on robbing two people, you'd be smart to get out of here.

Me: *places hand on sword hilt, staring hard into the thug's eyes*

Me: I didn't plan on killing anyone, yet here you stand.

All: *eyes widen, and the inventor makes a strange squeaking noise*

Inventor: *thumps to the ground unconscious, overworked by the stressful situation*

Thug: *visibly jumps from the impact, turning slightly to glance behind him*

Me: *brings hands off hilt, and take a large stride forward, turning to bring right arm in for a hard punch* Let's hope this is worth it.

Thug: *spins back around, starting to bring sword out of sheath. Ducks from the right handed punch*

Me: *lets right hand sail past target, spinning body and bringing the left hand around to backhand*

Thug: *bring face back up after dodging the punch, unsheathing sword and lining up for a quick swing*

Me: *slaps left hand against the surprised thug's face, discombobulating him and knocking him off balance*

Thug: *throws arms out to catch balance*

Me: *elbows the thugs gut hard, dropping the sword to the ground*

Thug: *bending over from the blow, reaches to the ground to grab the dropped sword*

Me: *firmly places foot on sword, bringing left knee up to connect with the thug's face*

Thug: *moves head up and away from Beau's knee, but not fast enough*

    *CRACK*

    Awhile later.

Inventor: *awakens from bucket splash of water, blinking through the liquid* Huh-what?

Me: *Dropping the bucket to the ground, slides quickly out door, thug's daily earning in pocket*

Inventor: Hey wait! You saved my life! *tries to stand, clattering the sword that was laid on his chest to the ground. Looking up, he notices the unconscious thug tied up in the corner*

Inventor: *grabbing the sword and furrowing his brow, he insidiously advances toward the tied up thug* Oh, I'll give you your payment alright.

    Hello,

I understand that snapshots will be snapshots and are not ironed out to work perfectly, but I was wondering if maybe I'm missing something important or obvious.

I was running a modded version before, copied the modded .minecraft and wiped the old one. Downloaded a fresh 15w51b jar. Upon entering the menu screen, everything was exceptionally slow. Mouse delay of roughly 1 second, the slow panning picture in the background clicked along at 1 fps. Very weird things I haven't noticed before. Upon entering into a server (I wanted to test some PvP) the game stuttered around like it did in the menu, and then crashed with an error message akin to:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/unmodified-minecraft-client/2556285-minecraft-keeps-crashing-failed-to-write-core-dump

I tried it again and same problem. Made sure VBOs was turned off, and now it doesn't crash. It's still as slow as I've ever seen minecraft.

    Computer specs:

    Windows 10

    Acer Aspire E5-573G

    Intel i5

    Nvidia 940M

If you need any other information, I'll gladly give it. I would understand if no one knew, it is a snapshot after all.

Perhaps you get a buff if you're wearing all the same time of armor, or more of it. Maybe nerf the enchantment abilities if the wearer isn't wearing armor type that is the same as the enchanted piece.

What if you had all armor pieces on (excluding Gold)? Other than that I fully support but I doubt it will be implemented.

You mean a different kind of armor for each body part?

Iron helm, Diamond breastplate, Leather leggings, and Golden/Chainmail boots. You could mix all the different enchants and become very scary indeed. That could be a problem perhaps, or something really cool.

posted a message on Is 1.9 going to make Minecraft harder or easier?

After playing some MITE (Minecraft Is Too Easy), you really get a hold of how to fight mobs safely. Like someone said before, I think it will become neither easy or hard for certain individuals.

If you can handle melee mobs and understand you shouldn't stand out in the open like a moron when fighting skeletons, then you will meet the new skill curve and minecraft will become more interesting and engaging if anything else.

If you already have trouble with melee mobs and don't have a clue how to handle skeletons, either you will meet the new skill curve by trial or you will quickly do worse than before. People adapt, strategies are developed. Honestly, a good challenge is what this game really needs. Sure mods can do that, but when they give vanilla a boost I never see it as a bad thing. If only they would enter some of MITE's ideas in or perhaps give the mobs Zombie Awareness AI. (Look them up if 1.9 is still to easy).
