Go to spotlight > quicktime player > file > new screen recording > press the button Free screen recorder without download its already on your Mac, just press stop to stop the recording! Hope this helped (I use this screen recorder)!

Ps. Fraps is TERRIBLE it takes so much space on your computer also the free version only lets you record 10 sec at a time from what I've heard use Quicktime or Bandicam!
