I've always seen a base as an efficient facility that contains everything required for your survival. A house is an unrequired component of a base for decoration.
I'll reiterate what I said earlier. Servers should not be for profit. This is Minecraft, a game by Mojang. You've written a few plugins and got yourself a server host and suddenly you think you have the right to turn your server into a business, with thousands of dollars of revenue made to cover hundreds of dollars of expenses. This isn't your game, and for all the people saying "but my plugins have monetary value!", they would have zero value without Minecraft.
Ignore that last post, that was a massive reading fail. Of course I haven't played on this server before due to having no posts here, but after reading the IP there I know what happened. My friend was over one day and he is kind of a griefer and he got banned on that server. We both went there just to get em back and I think I got banned really quickly. I didn't care though because I didn't expect I would ever play there or actually hurt anyone.
Silly bit of confusion there, I really need to actually pay attention to what you say.
Reason(s) you should be accepted: I'm here to have a good time, not to mess with others or grief. I've played this game 2 1/2 years and I love it, I just want to have a fun place to play online.
Additional Info: That about covers it.
NOTABLE EDIT: I seem unable to login for some reason, even in terms of the greylist. It just says server disconnected.
After about 10 minutes of playing Minecraft in a single session, I get the strangest glitch: It's like a light green line that just appears and disappears, connecting my inventory bar to the top left of the screen. The item on the leftmost bar of my inventory flickers for a while, almost as if there's an offscreen projector projecting it into my inventory. About 5 minutes later, the game crashes. Not in the "Minecraft has crashed" way, in the "It magically shuts down with no warning" way. I've checked support here a few times to see if anyone has experienced this, and it seems not. Anyone have any ideas?
An annoying deception I repeatedly see in the Minecraft Survival Servers forum is advertisements for greylisted servers claiming "No Whitelist". The implication of the statement "No Whitelist" is that you can log on and play with no need to post in a topic or fill out an application or any garbage like that. Now sure, a greylist is not *technically* a whitelist, but it prevents you from doing anything on the server, so you might as well be not playing at all.
My point is that any form of "list" that restricts players from playing on the server unless they post in the topic should be considered a whitelist and as such you cannot claim to be a no whitelist server when you do in fact need to apply to play. It wastes everyone's time and all it does is earn the server owner a few extra clicks from people who prefer freedom when playing a sandbox game online.

Neither. Just kill the spider first since it's weakest, then the skeleton loses its mobility and you're left with a normal skeleton fight. For charged creepers, just shoot them with fully charged bow shots - don't even try hitting them with your sword, not worth the risk.
A couple of solutions I thought of off the top of my head.
Random critical hits:
Allows people with weak gear to still have a chance against powerful enemies. Before you say it would be overpowered, a skilled player with good gear would still be able to easily win a fight with random critical hits.
Blocking negates all frontal damage from swords:
Using the block feature makes you invincible from attacks in front of you from a sword. You can still be shot with a bow or stabbed from behind, and you lose a lot of manueverability when blocking...
Sword critical hits negate 50% of the enemy's armor:
Getting a random critical/jump strike with a sword will cause you to ignore 50% of your enemy's armor strength. For example, if your sword would have hit 6 hearts on a foe, but his armor absorbs 4, instead of hitting 2 you would hit 4, plus the standard critical bonus (which is also affected by armor).
Feel free to change anything I said if you think it wouldn't work.
Don't be ridiculous. Switching to peaceful to avoid death? Debatable. AFK grinders? Debatable. Taking items from an NPC village. DEFINITELY NOT CHEATING. Might as well say collecting items from dungeons is cheating, the items are put there for you to take.
As we all know, giving the fans an opportunity to give feedback to Mojang regarding bugs and exploits is a stupid decision and shows Mojang's weakness.
