Thanks for the update! There's not that many Minecraft mod devs, or even just devs in general, that update your community as much as you guys do. Can't wait for a release!

How goes progress? I've been watching your twitter post for the past few weeks and progress looks great, but I'm not that sure at what point the mod will be available to the public. Can't wait to use this together with the Quark mod!

Man it's good to hear that this is still alive. Loving the new stuff proposed so far, especially the daggers (I could never find a good mod for those.) Also the biome specific blocks are looking nice as always, they add a good amount of diverse ambiance to the game that vanilla Minecraft lacks.

I get where you're coming from, but the way I see it, Minecraft has been developed in a specific way that makes a sequel redundant. I don't know of any new mechanics that would be needed to be added, most of the extra mechanics have been left to the modding community to make. While the Sims is a sandbox game like Minecraft, it is not as nearly open ended developmentally and gameplay wise. I see Minecraft less as a game and more of a platform for creators to work on, if that makes any sense.

imo the idea of a sequel would only work if Minecraft had a story line or was linear in play style. A sequel at this time would be redundant and would kinda contradict the whole idea of Minecraft. That's probably why Minecraft Storymode was created, because a story-based Minecraft isn't a very good idea in the first place.

Specs do make a difference, if i had a .5 GHz, Minecraft would be almost unplayable, but yes i agree that the distance would make a difference

I'm not talking about the physical specs of the computer, I'm saying that if you can run Minecraft fine already offline then getting a new computer wouldn't help with lag on multiplayer.

So I guess to answer your question getting a new computer won't help with multiplayer lag, it's an issue with your internet.

Most often, computer specs have nothing to do with multiplayer lag. If you can play Minecraft fine enough on singleplayer, then low bandwidth is probably what's causing the lag.

Edit: The location of the MC server can also cause lag, often servers in other countries can increase your ping depending on the distance.

posted a message on Minestrappolation 4: Pipes and Teleporters!

Just came back onto this thread after a couple months away from the forums, got nostalgic after finding my M4 save on my old HDD and figured I'd stop by. Great to hear that M5 development is still in progress even after I've last commented. Hope to see it released someday, the Minestrapp mods are imo the most underrated mods for MC. Shame there's so many popular but admittedly low effort mods (that I won't list) that get more credit that this stuff. Keep up the great work!

Edit: Any other new features you're thinking of adding?

As far as I know, Mojang doesn't actually support mods.

    That's not what I said :/
What I'm saying is that mods designed for those versions are getting left in the dust due to major recent code change.

I mean you have to navigate to your Minecraft Launcher and download your MC version again, then reinstall your forge from their website as if installing from on a new profile, as the versions file also contains all the forge profiles as well. Sorry for the wait.

I'm no expert at bug fixing, but I have fixed many many of my own issues before, I suggest first going to the Minecraft launcher and allow Java to acolate more ram, because you're using a healthy amount of mods. Then delete the versions folder and reinstall your Minecraft version (you don't need to delete the .minecraft folder or your saves and mods.) because i'm fairly sure that it's been corrupted somehow. I know for a fact though it's not a problem with the mods themselves because they are all available and they aren't mentioned in the actual crash.

I totally feel your pain though about the lack of mods... that's why I'm still on 1.7.10, and I don't know if I'll ever bother to update past it. It seems that Mojang doesn't really care much about their modding community, else I don't know why they make it so difficult for the mod devs to keep up every time Mojang releases a new update.

That's the thing that really sucks about 1.8, all the code changed and it left many mods in disrepair, never to be updated further. The update wasn't even that good anyways, we got rabbits, ocean monuments, that that way pretty much it on the major side. Then they changed the code heavily again for 1.10 (I'm fairly sure) so any good mods that were with 1.8 cannot be properly updated for 1.10 nor ported for 1.7.10. Really sucks though, because one of my all time favourite mods is for 1.8.9 (And only for that version), shame there's pretty much no other mods to go along with it.

All I'm hoping is that when Minecraft finally stops updating, there will be a point where you don't need mods to have a lot of great content. Because it seems that Mojang right now is more focused on code aspects with very little content (except for 1.9 which DID add a lot of newer stuff, but I have to say I was disappointed with the lackluster hyped shields).

posted a message on Anyone know some good vanilla mods?

    Hey guys,

So I'm looking for some good Minecraft mods that would fit in with vanilla Minecraft well. Mods that seem more like big updates to Minecraft, rather than adding in a whole new complex game-changing mechanic. I don't really have a personal taste when it comes with these kinds of mods, as long as they're not horribly textured or too heavy into tech or magic.

Some examples of these kinds of mods would be Minestrappolation 4

    and Diversity

Although simple tweaks or added items are fine too, does anyone have suggestions?
