As you force the window open you break away a plank from it to use as for self defense.
The plank was about a meter long and pretty thin but sturdy.
As you climb the window you prepare yourself for the jump, it’s just the first floor so you should be fine. You roll just as you land as to avoid breaking your legs and run off in the direction you saw the chiefs body.
He was laying and was in what appears to be green pajamas with a elephant face on the back, the elephant face was torn apart and there was a claw stuck in Illiam’s back.
Strangely he was wearing a leather belt with a key ring attached.
As you hear another scream come from the same direction as before you are able to recognize it as female, you quickly take the belt off of the chief and put it around your fast, stick the plank to it’s side and pull out the knife you had hidden before, sheathing it into sheath that was on the belt.
When you finish managing your equipment you rush towards the general location of the scream.
As you run you pass some more building that were on fire and a ton more corpses most of which were torn apart with parts of them being scattered everywhere.
As you enter a poorly lit park, due to it not being nearby any burning houses, which were conviniently lighting up the area, your eyes start immediately adjusting allowing you to see even under these conditions.
“I guess these eyes do have their use”
You think to yourself as you take a quick look around.
The park was quite large considering that it was in a walled up village and was filled with what seemed to be oak trees and ruined walls, the village was probably built around a ruin which would explain why the gate and the guard towers didn’t fit in with the makeshift walls.
In a place where two walls formed a corner with a pretty small opening you could see a girl and two kids being corner by a four legged monster.
It’s skin was dark and slimy, it’s head looked like that of a fish and it’s feet were more like three fingered hands with claws than actual feet.
As you feel a throb in your ankle you think that those claws would feel exactly the same as those that grabbed you in that cave you crawled out of.
No you were sure that creature was the one that tried to drag you back in.
“Might as well play hero and take revenge at the same time ”
You think to yourself as charge the creature pushing it out of the way.
While the monster was regaining it’s stance you turn around and see that the girl was that girl was the same girl that gave you the amulet earlier and she was with two kids, a boy and a girl.
The girl, Mary, you recall her name in contrast to that morning, or was it yesterday, you cannot be sure for how long you slept, seemed almost happy to see you.
“Take the kids and run, i’ll take care of this fishhead here”
Following those words were a couple of roars, you turn your attention back to the monster noticing that two more have appeared and have completely cornered you between the two walls.
“Well shenanigans, i’ll keep the interested while you and those brats crawl through that opening, clear!”
You turn around and see Mary nodding before you prepare yourself for the three man-slaughtering, four-legged, clawed fisheads.
