I'm having the same problem as BlueMachete, my port doesn't forward at all after I've unblocked "Anonymous Internet Requests." I've followed multiple guides/tutorials (including this one) with no success.

    Hi all-
I've been trying for a few days now to make a MineCraft server from my laptop. I have a custom map of mine that my friends and I want to play, but none of them can log onto it. (I've copied the folder from .minecraft in %appdata% into the folder with the .jar file (the .exe file does not display anything in the log/chat window) and changed the level-name to the custom world's name instead of 'world,' granting access to the map itself. I don't believe this is contributing to the problem) It shows up in my multiplayer and I can log onto it with minimal problems, but none of them can. They all get the "java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information" error. I've been experiencing a port forwarding error, which I think may be responsible for the problem. I unblock "Anonymous Internet Requests" in my firewall, and I set MineCraft to port 25565 with TCP/UDT protocol, and the correct IP address from what I can tell. But when I go to www.canyouseeme.org, A ) I am shows a different IP, and B ) the website cannot find port 25565. I have gone through a multitude of tutorials, videos, FAQs and consulted my school's tech department, all with no avail. The tech dept thinks I'm only opening the port on the LAN, not the WAN, and that my firewall is blocking the incoming requests. I've since unblocked "Anonymous Internet Requests" like I said before, but I'm clueless on how to do anything with LAN and WAN.

(I'm not the best at these configurations, but the last few days have granted me a little more knowledge.) I'm honestly at a loss of what to do at this point. Help?
