Nah brah during the first months of the alpha version of survival Notch was actually dishing out updates like ****ing crazy and actually working hard with diligence and dedication. Only until the major bloggers, and review websites started giving him the spotlight did he start playing video games (hours and hours of Civ 5 anyone?) and not giving a **** anymore while setting up his company.

Also I agree the Modders have been very awesome and are indeed kicking his ass in everything, but you still can't deny Notch the credit of actually having the balls to come up with this game and fully going through with it. Seriously he actually quit his job to develop this, that takes some balls, if minecraft never hit it big across the message boards, image boards, and so forth Notch would be in ruin right now or just chocked full of stress like the developers of penumbra.

Well credit goes to Notch for making this game that the modders can mod. The mods aren't all that special, it was bound to happen after some time and they will progressively get better, and they are tuned to players tastes. However the platform that allows these things is a lot more special. For example, Garrysmod is essentially a platform for custom game modes. Does that mean that the one game mode everybody plays is better than garrysmod? No! This is because the mod is IN the platform.
Actually Notch didn't make it so that minecraft support mods, people just figured out how to do it.
and Notch actually said somewhere that he didn't want the game modded until him, himself placed an official mod loader for minecraft.
AND i agree with OP that modders have done what notch could have done but never did, and they did it before notch can get up his ass from playing gaemslol and not giving us what we all want which is updates.

I originally made a thread myself questioning why we had to pay for an Alpha, and parring the general insults towards me because i'm not a fanboy, people told me to think of me paying as pre-ordering the full game when it comes out, and for now having access to the alpha as a bonus.
Maybe because for three goddamned months, he fails to release an update, and when he finally does, it's less than expected? Not to mention that what has been showed of what he has finished is lackluster.

I was wondering if there was a way to edit or delete part of a world? Because i've been explore happy and made my save file into 30mb+.
The reason why i want to delete part of it is because my save have gotten to big and i can't generate maps anymore using Alpha Vespucci or Cartograph without the program stop working.
