Sounds interesting, but a month seems like quite a long time to me. Perhaps it would attract more people if the time was a bit shorter, not to mention it'd be a lot quicker to look over previous progress/screenshots as opposed to a month's worth of playing time per person.
I disagree, I believe that a month is a good amount of time. Because people can do whatever they want, they may only end up playing a handful of days, and I want to maximize the amount of progress made on the world while still providing plenty of people an opportunity to play. Therefore, for now I feel this is a suitable time frame, but maybe if more people become involved, a smaller time frame can be used.
This is a really interesting idea.. I'm very curious how this will turn out. You can even encourage people to leave some logs in game aswell, in the form of written books. Like an old journal, to be found by the next chosen one
The Used World Project is something I came up with while daydreaming in school today! Hopefully it seems interesting enough for a few people to give it a shot.
Here is how the Used World Project will work:

I will start a world in which I will keep a log. Every day or so I will post a new entry in the log, with screenshots and text. I will continue this for a month, at which point I will choose someone to receive my world. What I will most likely do is simply put the world up for download, so anyone can play on it, but only the designated person will be recognized much.
This person can do absolutely anything they want with this world; grief it, blow it up, even mess around with it in Creative Mode. Anything is possible. However, keeping a log of things done in the world is encouraged.
On the first of the next month, the person will upload the world to a website such as Dropbox or Mediafire, and I will make a backup of it. Then the next person will download it, do as they please, and reupload. This process will repeat itself indefinitely, or until I deem the map totally irreparable.
Due to the new Minecraft Forums setup, creating a log would take much too long to be practical. So you guys will have to be satisfied with a world download every month. Sorry.
Bukkit will automatically convert the singleplayer world to the correct file structure and name the folders correctly. For example, if you have the save files folder as Test, once you run the server with the server.properties pointing at the save, you'll then have 3 folders. Test, Test_nether and Test_the_end. To reconvert it back you'll grab the DIM1 and DIM-1 files from inside the _nether and _the_end folder and put then in the normal folder.
Alright, so I've looked at the guides on how to start the actual server, and I've tried with the code in the bat file, but it isn't working. Can someone help me with this? I've already changed the file name in the command to the craftbukkit file I have.

Alright, so I'm beginning to work on a little project and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to put a singleplayer world in Craftbukkit. What I'm mostly having trouble with is the Nether and End dimensions. Thank you!

I had been following Minecraft on Youtube for about a year when I got the game during 1.3. I played on Normal the first time. Found a desert temple almost immediately, explored and got some good stuff, can't remember what. Anyways, that night I went caving and with my extremely laggy computer, managed to get killed by a skelly. I raged and deleted the world, and that's it.
