Just to add to the invisible villager bug, I appear to have captured a villager disappearing while still on screen, I forgot about it until I started editing the video that it happens in. He's the blue guy, just to right of center, quite a few blocks away, but he is clearly there one frame and gone the next and he stays gone after that.

Woo, something else to watch while at work, do you do the storyline quests? How does that work in SMP?
We haven't actually done any of the storyline quests, we have found some Hindi villages but haven't traded with them yet, trading the amount needed to start the first quest seems like a monumental task but assume it will work similar to the sidequests where we can each get the quest. We've been focusing on simply helping out one Japanese village that we have become attached to, but we have more recently started travelling to try and find a Norman or Mayan village.

Regarding the "invisible villagers" issue - I've been trying to narrow it down, it's not simple. It would help if people who have it could report the conditions:
- MP only or SP as well?
- What render distance do you run in?
- When does it happen? Only when moving away and then returning to a village or even when logging into one?
- Any other circumstances you've noticed in which it happens or not
I have been doing a series of millenaire videos on youtube with a friend and we experience this quite regularly.
We started out with singleplayer lan mode with me hosting quite a few versions ago, it didn't appear to happen to me while hosting, we switched to multiplayer only fairly quickly and both of us experience it.
We both run in far render distance.
It doesn't just happen when leaving a village, we can be within a village and over time villagers will still disappear, though it seems that those that do might travel a lot, though the children that disappear I imagine probably don't move far. In fact leaving a village and coming back tends to bring back more villagers again. There are no missing villagers upon logging in that we can tell.
We both experience different missing villagers, one can be visible to me but not to him etc.
Hopefully this might give you some insight into the problem, I can also give you a link to our recent videos if you think it might help.

(70,000+ DLs)We have played more of this map over the weekend and it's awesome, though we got lost once in a rather large land mass that just seemed to go on and on, is there a clear border/ocean around the map just in case we go too far?Posted in: Maps

Just a quick question, say a villager buys written books, is it okay to sell the quest books to him/her/it when you're done with them?
Mar 28, 2012After updating to the latest source it would error out importing deepcopy (sorry didn't save the actual error message), after searching online it seems that the line "from deepcopy import deepcopy" in leveleditor.py should be "from copy import deepcopy", after changing this everything was fine again.Posted in: Minecraft Tools

I found something I "think" it is a bug.
Dont know if you guys already know it, but im pretty sure old mcedit didnt have this thing, so thats why I think its a bug. Its pretty annoying too.
Im not good with words, so I spent over 9000 hours on paint to ilustrate the problem.
I have also experienced this, importing part of a world into another, it appears that it will generate new region files for regions that have not been created, but they seem to be the mcr format instead of Anvil, so neither MCEdit or Minecraft will load them.
Also related when importing a world, or regions of a world it will not import the biome data with the chunks, is this able to be implemented now that it's stored in the chunks?

I've been using the latest multithreaded version and I'm having these weird invisible block problems. It was easy to fix in singleplayer. I just had to set the chunk updates to 5 and no more invisible blocks in the aether :tongue.gif:
Fixing it in multiplayer however, can't seem to be done. No matter what I set it to, the ground will still stutter between visible and invisible. I'll be headed for a tree to cut it down when suddenly the tree, the leaves, and the ground go invisible. I don't lose a whole chunk either. It seems to be randomly sized. When it happens, it's like using the tunnel finder from an xray mod. I can see through the ground and all the tunnels, caves, water, and lava, though the tunnels aren't lit up like with xray.
Any solutions to this?
Oh by the way I have a bunch of mods installed, though none of them affect the graphics, besides the texture pack, so I assumed it's an optifog problem.
And I have a dual core processor too.
I registered to say that I also get this problem using the MT version, the standard version works perfectly fine on single player and multiplayer, this is using a fresh minecraft.jar with no other mods installed.
With the MT version (both D and E) in multiplayer parts of chunks flicker every minute or so or simply go invisible, the chunk updates during daybreak/night cause a flicker and appear to update slower as a result.
Opening and closing doors is the easiest way to show the problem, the chunk, or part of the chunk that the door is in will go invisible, then appear a short time after or when the door is closed or opened again, it will then go invisible again at some point when opening and closing, it's fairly random but happens more often than not. There doesn't appear to be any setting which stops this from happening.
A separate bug I have noticed is that unlike the standard version the MT version appears to ignore the chunk updates setting and updates chunks at maximum speed regardless of what it's set at.
