With how small our worlds are, I'd say you'd see about 10-20 ravines per map. They don't always occur on the surface either. sometimes they happen completely underground.

Mine Shafts are much more annoying in my opinion. Each map will probably have dozens upon dozens of them. They will literally make the underground of your world swiss cheese.

All of those little black lines are Mine Shafts. Be prepared for that in the next update.

Well that looks promising to me. Still even 10-20 ravines would be a bit much for me... I have enough trouble with the vertical mineshafts that sometimes spawn. Still though as i have said just would be nice to select what goes into generation to some degree, especially villages hearing as they seem to be rare...O_o or well just long to find on the pc sometimes. I am hoping though that things will be simple to find, but not so frustrating to run across...

That almost sound disheartening... Hmmm... Would be nice if there was a option put in at generation to not include such into it. Like a check box for each. I am not really fond of ravines, doesn't mean i wouldn't mind having at least one map with one, but all of them like that... I would not like very much. However the NPC villages, Mine shafts, and Strongholds I am definitely looking forward to. :D

unsure of the first question, but as for the second maybe try attack from the front. eye to eye. I don't get gunpowder often either so i think it maybe a low drop rate...

Well considering that the only one i own is the xbox one i'd have to say that. However i do have a decent demo of the pc one. I will eventually get that one, and when i do it in a way would be a separate title to me. Each has their perks and each their differences.

posted a message on PAC: Players Against Creepers
now all this makes me wish i didn't delete that map i was on... I mean first night was fine... so was the 2nd and 3rd... but i had to over reach where i was mining at and well... lost quite a bit of iron and other basic stuff... Mainly spent that last whole night trying to get that stuff back, but the stuff despawned eventually... there was just too many of them... zombies i can outrun. skeletons well are just anoyying spiders are only a slight problem, but creepers especially 2+ get to be very troublesome.

after my failed attempt at reclaiming my stuff i ditched that world. Now i kinda miss it since it had quite a few features i liked. Oh well what can you do but rebuild once again...lol

posted a message on map question
For me, any seed that i have a full map of, i just can't post images right this moment. After all i need a FB account to do so. I prolly will eventually, but at the moment i personally have other things on my mind.

All i can say is 50-50 it seems about the FB capture thing people just don't like it. When and if they get another way to capture then maybe. Also to capture the map pic the capture doesn't work for that. You would need a phone that has that, and well... I guess i live in the dark ages on that one apparently since i don't own a cell with that function.

I am guessing also some just don't like to go through the hassle of doing a map pic as that I would even see a long process trial and error to get it correct and good lighting n all. Although I wouldn't mind maps for being with a description, I do like those that at least have plenty of things to say about it beyond that clay or this or that are on it. For me all i ever look for in a workable map is having a bit of everything and still be plenty green...:D

posted a message on what do YOU do?
I have a habit of putting stairs everywhere in caves so i can go up and down them with ease. So in a sense it looks like the crazy stairways in the David Bowie movie Labyrinth. And by doing that i manage to find my way around, unless of course the place way huge to begin with. I get lost in most of my caves and actually enjoy that time trying to figure out how i go in in the first place.

Other than that i usually build with the terrain, as in what ever feels right in that/those specific spot(s). When it is my own house i usually find a hole somewhere and tend to build dirt around the edge and make a doorway complete with wooden door, and upgrade it later when i can. Going with the moment as each I enter.

posted a message on Minecart uses
I would have to say to make certain things more convenient, like getting around the map.

However since i never really did that from the beginning, at least not at the moment on my longest standing map i've been working on, I guess building the minecart system itself just adds flare or practicality to the empty village i have made. I mean the need transportation too. More thinking in the RPG element to some degree.

It is only recently i started actually implementing a cart system though, so working with all the switches and redstone that i need is in itself just entertaining, especially when i get the rail system working the way i intend it to work... :D

Unsure of having a dagger, but would be useful at first if not having as much diamond. Prefer saving that for farming obsidian or maybe even armor. I would rather have something like more projectile weapons or even a longer reach multi-mob hit weapon like a spear or something. Of course on that one the damage might not be as much but at least you would have the range for defending... :D

posted a message on Sugar cane
I have only seen 4 or 5 tall sugarcane Only when the world is first created. So naturally it can get that way when the world is first created. Otherwise i have only seen 3 high like what we as players can plant, and let grow. Although it is quite rare for a 4 high, I have only seen the 5 high only once.

I just love creating random maps just to explore and venture the surface seeing the sights, or even sight seeing the sights...:D

    Quote from Chum8ler

Generate a new seed if you don't like it i guess? I dunno brother. I actually would be more upset if there weren't worlds almost completely water. With the VERY (IMO) limited space we're given, to experience anything like a water-world style setting, we would have to have a map almost completely covered in it.

Actually, if anybody has a seed like this I would love to know, I didn't see anything like this on the "best seeds list." I've been wanting to build a world with an underwater bubble-city and a docks style city. (think FF X where Yuna has that sending scene)

well the closest seed that i found off the minecraft seed site that has quite a bit of water is

    d74g0n

it has pretty much has all the resources as well including plenty clay. most of the water covers the center and North eastern parts of the map, as the western part is mostly snow and ice with some rolling hills.... monstrous mountain to the south but not really shear cliffside though. Also this seed is a 1.8 seed, I just went and checked out to see what it would look like in this version and well.. that is what i saw mainly.

About the only advice i would prolly give at the moment would be....

    --Use Water/Lava Wisely.
--Always be aware of your environment, even in peaceful (as you never know when a cow decides to push you over that cliff)
--Use Crouch along edges when building or tight spaces with lots of huge drops.
