Led Zeppelin IV is a server currently being developed for RP survival mode, but as I code the necessary plugins I am opening a map to open building.

featuring MyHomes, Ichat, nice admins and more plugins arriving all the time! Some features and bonus games from the RP mod will leak into the building mode as they become entertaining, and we are still looking for new moderators...

You can also preview the survival RPG world currently being worked on by a crack team of designers.

We give good players diamond tools will be holding building contests regularly with ability rewards!

posted a message on LedZeppelin IV RP
    Hello.

Led Zeppelin IV is the first in what I hope is a new style of RP in Minecraft. It is being developed to optimize the experience of playing minecraft while staying true to the original plans. The server is currently not much to look at, basic systems have to be developed before deeper RP elements can be added and we're mostly waiting on a good system of implementation that doesn't break every time the game is updated. But it's a functional, safe server with good players and open land.

    Current state:
Pre-production, and acquisition and development of the basic plugins. Currently developing the essential land for basic dungeons and towns. We are looking for builders and designers wanting to build RPG worlds.

Current plan for some features of the world:

If you are interested in joining the citizenship of the council, submit an application to:
The Office of Citizenship, #12 N Dock, Andeerza
Or PM me with the following information:
    1. Are you a griefer?
    2. You sure? if yes, proceed, if not, please seek professional medical assistance
    3. Good. Are you at least 18 years of age?
    4. What would you build in this RPG server with any block at your disposal?
    5. Other info, including if you are a greifer, seriously, last chance.

So. About the server. Led Zeppelin IV's goal is to become a perfect blend of adventure and creation. I keep a very thorough journal of systems that will enhance the experience including natural and grindproof skill system, a more realistic tech tree and town dynamics that will encourage both teamwork and competition.

Here is a map of the world thus far.

Right now there are 3 major settlements containing monuments and homes. The largest, Andeerza, was founded in august and is 100% hand built. Materials have been spawned for monuments only, the homes and buildings were made one by one by TKoopa.

A great castle and seat of the old council, castle Dagglestein lies silent inland to the east. The Council of 4 once served over this land, and were said to have created the world. This, Andeerza, and the settlements of Mt. Des and Frostberry are connected with a fast transit cart system. The first dungeon slated to be developed is a mine south of Dagglestein; Battle Mines will be a begginer dungeon that will send normal survival mode patrons running for the hills.

That's it for now. I'm updating to 1.3 now and will be posting a mod list and change log soon.

If you're interested in hosting a server, and are looking for a host, try jest servers. They have worked with me during every problem quickly and thoroughly. You can rent them right here:
    http://www.jestservers.com/panel/aff.php?aff=096

some more shots, these are of Andeerza, an impressive settlement and the seat of power for the new council.

Why would you accuse someone just because they don't change their skin? That's probably the stupidest reason I have ever heard to do anything. Who do you think you are? McCarthy?

He's read the OP. It's called a joke, which sometimes is made using methods of sarcastic humor, and the feigning of ignorance to mock a person or thing.

Also, yeah this whole weird cult thing needs to end. It's old and overdone.

Stop trying to figure out what Notch wants or doesn't want for his game. All of this he said he said is getting stupid. Minecraft on steam sounds 110% awesome.

Also, yes, people need to know the difference between Steam and Valve. Steam is a game distribution software owned by Valve. Valve also develops games, but does not develop all of the games on Steam.

How everyone is constantly trying to make up new ridiculous mythologies for minecraft. They're not interesting, they're just over-bumped memes.

Edit: Oh look, Thomas the sheep has smiled upon me and given me the top of the page

    Boy oh boy.

posted a message on Water physics system is broken.
Gotta learn the tricks. I'll give you some tips to start. As long as there is no current, you can pick up the block of water with a bucket. If it is surrounded on at least 3 sides with still standing water, the gap will fill back in with still water and the process can be repeated. If you put a bucket of water on a current, depending on its surroundings, it could either turn into still water or remain a current. Sometimes it is best to place the bucket into still water that is next to a current, rather than place it in the current itself.

I like your idea Catmando, I'm sure it will be modded in.

posted a message on Did notch break the Generator again?
It's a cave segment that has found its way snugly into your mountain. The way caves generate themselves is with kind of preset shapes that overlap into tunnels and rooms. Sometimes they go above ground to form cave entrances. sometimes there is no cave to enter, just a nice little pit. Map generator is fine, just kind of silly sometimes.

posted a message on Water physics system is broken.
I like it a lot personally. It could use some tweaks, but I'm sure he'll revisit it later to apply some other ideas or rules. It works like a tabletop game, there are rules of conduct, once you figure them out, it's fun and rewarding getting it to do what you want it to do.
The reason the old system can't work is because it would either be infinite, meaning that waterfalls are impossible, underground springs are non existent, and cave flooding sucks forever. Or it would be finite, and finite water didn't work as a local model, and lead to too many glitches to work in singleplayer infinite, much less multiplayer infinite.

I don't quite get a memorial to a sheep you murdered. What does it represent? What sort of lesson does it carry? If the sheep had say, pushed you out of the way of lava, and died because of it, maybe then a memorial would make sense. But to erect a memorial pillar for something because you felt bad for killing it seems just kind of... pointless honestly.

Those tutorials are your friend. Take lots of notes. As for how to make games with it... You're going to have to learn the language front and back first. I suggest you make some text based games and simulations to start, and then pursue the graphical aspects of the language.

Also, nobody will tutor you for free, but a lot of people on the minecraft IRC can tell you what you did wrong if you get compile or run-time errors. There are also plenty of message boards out there specifically for this kind of thing. I'll warn you though, if you have an issue, at least 1000 other people before you have had the same one, search the error or problem first, before making an idiot out of yourself and asking someone.

posted a message on Land-Claim Flags
Land claim flags should allow non-owners to destroy blocks, possibly, but not place blocks. But they're going to be tweaked to yield the most happiness and least grieferness.
Notch isn't an idiot, people, him putting in something experimental wont ruin the freaken game. This kind of ignorant fear is not constructive in any way. That, and most people are for them, lets think of the advantages and improvements possible in land claim flags...
