We (my husband and I are playing over LAN) have been able to get other mobs (a cow and some sheep) but no squid. We made sure our land was at level 64. I don't know if it really make a difference. I know I have spawned animals at level 59 in another game. Also you need to be at least 23 blocks away from your spawn point (the original island) for them to spawn at all.
PS. It took a long time before they spawned. Oh, and I don't know how much of a difference it made, but after we removed one side of the fence, with a gate, our spawns picked up.

Squids spawn in water between layers 46 and sea level which is 63.
I finally got mobs spawning did not know about the range from spawn thing thanks for that.
If anyone is looking for a nether fortress chunk in this map to farm blazes and withers the closest one is at -80,80 to -96, 96
I also found all the islands they are 1000 blocks out in every direction forom the spawn, 8 lands into. I am personally going to edit the map for msyelf and make them more in the range off 150-200 blocks before my actual playthrough as for me that is just obscene.
Edit: I have edited the map and moved all the Islands to 100 blocks away and set all them to there natice Biomes in a 6 chunk radius. Now I am happy.
I have checked this map out and want to give it a try. 3 beefs I have with it though are this,
1. Snow Biome for the main island is a must otherwise just take the snow challenge out altogether, no one is going to build a 1000 long slab walkway just to get snows balls
2: Same as above but with the nether, the main spawn has to be a Fortress otherwise grinding Wither skulls is simply never going to be worth it to anyone.
3: If you did indeed add tiny islands I have not seen them and they 100% should be visible from the main spawn otherwise no one is going to wander for years for them. If you want this map to be popular you need to make it both fun and accessible it is already challenging enough for most.
I do love this map and that is has been updated but those are my main issues. The amount of stuff you will be able to do with Skyblock now with Villagers alone is going to be amazing.
I do not mind paying for good work. But those 5 banners would be the same banner done simply in 5 different resolutions/ways that fit each social media platform and I am guessing you would simply need to start with the highest resolution one and work your way down. Same goes for the profile images.
I do like your work and am interested but we would have to discuss pricing it prior to any order and I would like to see a more in depth portfolio.

I have seen no hostiles whatsoever, so not sure what is going on I tried making a mob farm and am getting no spawns.

EDIT: Yeah done a bit of testing and no matter what I do no mobs are spawn.
