@CQ: Since CTMs were originally designed to be harder vanilla maps I can see why they haven't been modded so far but I don't see why people can't. I myself don't really like mods because they're too grindy in my opinion as well as if something cool is built in vanilla, it's much more impressive than with mods. That's just my personal preference though.
My favourite thing about CTM maps is creating unique and challenging environments for the player, which is why I make CTM maps and focus heavily on aesthetics. That being said I do believe that aesthetics are some of the most important features in a map as they add to the immersion of the CTM experience and allow the player to become more involved in the world that they are exploring. It also doesn't take a great deal of effort to make something look good in CTMs, there's pretty much a generic formula for a CTM area if you study other people's work too. My latest set of screenshots maybe took me 3 hours all up and that's pretty much the aesthetics of the area done. If you just look up basic build tutorials and look at other people's stuff you get a general idea of how to build properly, and it doesn't have to be the Hypixel level of detail just somewhere in between that and a blank Vechs wall.

@Infanderp it's a brush not a filter.... I think you go into the MCedit app data and put it in there

Also this area is huge in case you couldn't tell, I'm experimenting a lot with the scale of my buildings ATM
