That's just the list of things you have to do in order to get yourself advantage.
That is what technique is, stupid.
There are no different kinds of attacks in minecraft. There is just strike and block.
And what about jump criticals and sprint attacks? Just because there isn't many kinds of attacks doesn't mean it shouldn't be in Minecraft.
You may secure yourself all you want but at the end of the day, to kill another person only requires clicking. nothing else. In shooter games, the damage differs based on the place you shot the guy. Also, in shooter games you get different weapons with different types of ammo, different ranges and other stuff. In minecraft there are swords, axes and bows. period. This should be clue enough that Minecraft is not meant to be a warzone. But it obviously isn't clear enough for you.
Did you really just compare Minecraft to shooters? Wtf? Minecraft is whatever you want to be. If Minecraft isn't meant to be a warzone like you say then Notch wouldn't have put the PvP option in servers, you idiot.
Dude... you just pointed out 4 things which aren't very good.
Can't you read? Each paragraph wasn't only one technique. I had dozens in them.
And can you explain to me how building has more technique than PvP? The only technique in building is to make things look nice. That's it. PvP takes way more skill and strategy.
X-ray is cheating. If cheating is an element of the experience for you, then I feel sorry for you. It makes just as much sense as playing a shooter with an aimbot.
When the hell did I ever say that I cheated? Once again you obviously can't read. I included that stuff about X-raying because lots of people do use it however. It just adds more technique to the game because you have to avoid them and think ahead of them.
So what if after a significant time of searching I might find a decent non-pvp server if the number of pvp-servers is constantly increasing and soon, there may be nothing more to find.
Your talking out your ass. There is and always will be creative and survival servers.
Your probobly just some 12 year old kid who can't accept the fact that people like different things than him. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it shouldn't be there.

It's funny how you people point out that there is technique and that there is strategy but you don't define it. Please do define it. I'm really curious what technique there is in pointing at someone with the mouse and clicking till they are dead.
First off guarding. It takes a lot of skill to be holding down right click, let go, hit them once, and re-hold right click in under a half second or less. If you don't use guard you die easily. And you can't be holding down guard the entire time because it slows you down. Somebody will just out menauver you. You have to know when to guard and when not to.
Second strategies are getting criticals and knowing when to sprint attack. It is really hard to get criticals while guarding so that adds even more complications to guarding as said above. You can't always do sprint attacks because it could give the enemy time to heal since they are out of reach. You have to know when and where to use them.
equipment and when to strike: I recently killed a guy in diamond armor when all i had was steel armor and a steel sword. How did I do this? I stalked him for a while and had my friend get into a flame war with him so he was typing in the chat all the time. I had to stay hidden but yet stay within range of being able to quickly pounce on him. While he was typing away I took him by surprise and killed him.
Hiding your base is another technique. You can't make it out in the open. The best place to do it is to make it in a jungle far from the spawn. Since most X-ray textures leave leaves as visible, it makes it way harder for someone to see your base underground. You also can't alter the land near your base or someone will know your there. You can't use a traditional door and you have to hide your entrence then.
There is SO much strategy and technique involved. You are obviously oblivious to it.
And if you are having trouble finding a non PvP server then maybe you should look harder instead of just browsing the Server section of the forums. Ever hear of Google? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=non+PvP+minecraft+server

It's slowly killing the Minecraft experience.
That's your opinion
It no longer makes sense to build nice things at all since griefing and stealing is more and more commonly allowed as a part of the pvp experience.
That is why we have Survival, Creative, and PvP servers. Don't like one then go to another.
What on earth makes you think that walking around killing people is fun in a game that's about creativity?
Once again your opinion. Minecraft is about doing anything you want.
Why do you think it's fun at all? It's just clicking. There's nothing, absolutely nothing else to it. The one with better weapons and armour wins. There's no technique. You can't feel satisfaction after killing someone because it's not impressive at all.
There is lots of technique. You get the satisfaction of defeating another enemy because you were better and you of course get their loot.
All you did is click. You can, however, feel proud if you build something beatiful and only then. Think about that.
Isn't all you do in building is click?
Minecraft is about the experience of creation and interaction between players.
Isn't that also PvP? Player interaction?
It's about building great cities and working together, forming societies. That is what Minecraft was made for. PvP is just the biproduct of people's ability to carry weapons around (which were originaly made so the players can defend themselves from mobs).
Your opinion. Once again Minecraft is about doing anything.
There's plenty of games in which you can run around killing people. Go play counter strike, call of duty, battlefield or whatever you like, but for God's sake, leave Minecraft alone if you feel like having a killing spree.
But we can't still have the feel and gameplay of Minecraft when playing those other games.
I think you are just bad at PvP and mad at it. Don't like it? Go to a different server.
