Well, I have that big decoder pack on my computer: http://codecpackguide.com/klcodec.htm Couldn't anything in the pack be used in Minecraft? It's a popular decoder pack, so people might have decoders from it already, and they're very... varied.
That is the problem really, it can't just be any decoder/encoder, java has to be able to run it through to encode/decode the video files. Which Xuggler does and JMF was aimed at.
Also Paraknight is there a way to use FFmpeg? I know it has like a million different variations. Or what about dsj - DirectShow <> Java wrapper or Java Bindings for vlc or gstreamer-java or Jffmpeg (looks like FFmpeg but in Java)? Im not exactly sure what your code for the TV mod requires but these look like possibilities (to me at least).
Any word on when the decoder for the TV Mod will be changed? I run Windows 7 64 bit, and of course that means I crash when I try to use it. EXTREMELY discouraging. I was about to try watching the GTA V trailer on a random dirt wall on the map I just created.
The plan was for the TV mod to switch from using Xuggler to JMF. However Paraknight said that apparently JMF has been abandoned for a few years and thus unstable. So I believe the hunt is on for a new encoder.
I have windows Xp, guys are your sure xuggle is virus? :dry.gif:
Paraknight i don't wanna install xuggle i think its virus! please delet xuggle please!
I HATE ****ING TV MOD BICAUSE NOT WORKING WHEN I PLACE TV IT JUST CRASH! WHAT TO DO! SOOO STTUPID TO INSTALL XUGGLE!
First, please don't multi-post, there is an edit option on your posts for a reason.
Second, do you really think that Paraknight would link you to a virus? Let alone say his mod requires it? No. Xuggler is not a virus. No one else has even accused it of being one.
Third, try not to rage, raging leaves people less inclined to help you out, proper grammar is helpful also. Just saying "WHEN I PLACE TV IT JUST CRASH" is not helpful at all. Include more detail, did you get an error report, what mods do you use, did you install Xuggler?
If you don't get an error report, run minecraft through the command prompt so you can see the error then give it to use. If you don't know how to run minecraft off the command prompt look back a few pages. One of my posts says how.
Is your XP 64-bit? If so that is the reason it crashes, Xuggler is not 64-bit Windows compatible.
Also Xuggle is the team's name, not the product, the product is Xuggler. Just FYI.
I get a message "The speakers seem to have no effect". I've looked at several pages but haven't found a solution. Please help.
I am using the AMCO mod pack, so it might be compatibility issues. If its not, what could be the problem. Also behind that text I see the Now Playing xxxx.
Oh and I have already tried different converters, they are ogg, I named some simply a single letter. still get the same message.
That is a really odd error to get, it's given when an issue with updating the volume is hit. That's as much as I know on that error though. I haven't used AMCO mod pack and it has a lot of mods, but looking at them I don't see anything that seems like it would conflict with this.
Doubt he/she is doing it, there hasn't been any news on it except
"I promise I'll get something done this weekend".
I seem harsh, had a bad day :sad.gif:
Parakight has promised 64 bit support, and I for one have faith in him. The thing with it is is that parts have to be rewritten to use JMF instead of Xuggler. As he has also stated he is not only working on his own mods, but he is participating in several collaborative mod projects. As such I'm sure you can understand that he doesn't have much free time and 64 bit support is not necessarily a priority, when the majority of people use 32 bit OS's.
Have faith. 64 bit support will come, even if not until 1.9. Look at it this way, less lag for your game. :laugh.gif:
no, the song was originally a .mp3 but i just changed it to .wav by renaming. I hate downloading converters off the internet. they're freaking viruses and they're 5000 dollars and stuff. some are just a website. I'll try to find a good, free one. thanks!
Yea I'm afraid just renaming it could cause some problems. Try http://media.io/ it works good from my past experiences.
No, It just clicks and clicks. no matter WHERE i place it, the number of speakers, it's name is just Skrillex.wav
Well the placement of the radio and number of speakers should have no effect on whether the songs play or not. Were both songs converted with the same converter? Have you tired a different converter? Sometimes it helps.
How does the trading mod work? I can't seem to trade with another player...
Well from looking at the mod it would have to be installed in the server and both players client it would seem. Have you done that? I haven't actually used the mod though so I'm not completely sure.
Whenever i place the boombox, it plays the first song. but when i right click it to change it to the next song, the next song plays about for half a second and just switches back to the first song. i only have 2 songs. they're both .wav and i tried changing the non-working one to ogg. still, even when the first song finishes and the next song plays it just goes back to the first song. help!! the second song is so epic :sad.gif:
Do you get any sort of error? Does your song only use letters and spaces? Can you run minecraft from the command prompt to watch for any sort of error?

That is the downside of the TV mod, it can be resource intensive, reduce the TV size and disable HD and hopefully that will help.

What do you mean you cant find instructions? They're rright on the Xuggler download page.
Download the installer and run the following from a bash terminal (assuming you called the downloaded file xuggle-xuggler.sh):
If you choose to install into a protected directory, you may need to do:
Lastly, make sure every program using Xuggler has the environment variables defined that the installer tells you to set up.
Try downloading it on a different browser.

Xuggler works on Windows 7, but only on 32-bit versions, not 64-bit versions.

Sure it's possible, the code would have to be changed or added to though.

YOu have to make it, it goes in the .minecraft\resources\mod folder.

Make sure your song names use only letters and spaces.

You place it in the .minecraft\resources\mod folder.

No worries about the delay, can you give an error report?
Copy and paste the follow into notepad:
Then save it as error.bat, then when you run it it will start Minecrft and you can see the error in the command prompt window.
