The helm is going to be an infusion recipe and it'll be pretty expensive, putting it on track with Angel Rings and stuff. It's more expensive than a thaumostatic harness because it has "infinite fuel" and you can put chests or even multiple players on it.
Great thought, though. If I hasn't have done something, you're right that there would have been a balance issue. Vanilla AS is the cheapest flight ever.

Well, now Ayumu Nagasawa has a book that displays where to find any minable material.
Included is a map of the continent so you know exactly where to find what you're looking for.
Next version is really close, guys. One might say frustratingly close.

They count as "things that explode" and thus fall under Driskel's guarantee that you "will not get an undead and will not get something that explodes." Pigmen can come from bags, though. So can villagers.
I programmed them to spawn around the volcano once it's been fully cleansed, though I've never seen it happen in person. Beyond that, there's the necromancy tablet from TT and also I'm adding a way to get a guaranteed ghast spawn egg through a quest (next version).

The guy said he fixed it by deleting the world folder and reloading it from the zip. If that doesn't work, and the server works just fine for everybody else... then I don't know what to tell you.
Does anybody else have this issue?

Dunno if you can tell, but I'm not the sort of guy that likes to keep his mechanics hidden from the players.

I've got a bunch of new content to release. I'm going to go back through this forum thread and try and fix as many bugs as I can before that happens. Expect a new version to be rolled out tomorrow!

you could try the MFR fertilizer, and giving it bone meal or industrial fertilizer,
you could also try the researching and making the lamp of growth this helps plants grow when given herba.
also if you are trying to make mass bread for the Rep quest you could substitute wheat for rice, oats, rye or potato all of those can be made into flour for bread.
if its the rep quest that you are trying to go for you could also make a mob farm to harvest tainted goos, the Xeno biologist tainted goo quest is repeatable, and the refresh time is 1 game hour compared to the bread quest which is like a day and a half (why does the Xeno biologist need all that goo?)
not sure how to actually get bone meal to work on wheat again.

so I'm wondering how difficult it would be to make a alternative blight fall map, I mean all the coding that went into the mod pack and only one map. (a very good one but still just one)

you can't craft it, but you can find it
there are a number of trash cans in homes around the floating city.
but a pool of lava works still

I know lot of people complain about certain aspects of of the difficulty of this mod-pack, Hunger especially. but if you don't want a challenge don't download a pack described as challenging and then ask for the challenge to be made easier. or taken away.
personally I like the addition of Harvest Craft to the pack, and modifying how diminishing returns works. now you are not totally screwed if you use up all your food types and have to just risk some rep and hope the seed bag gives you something new. now there's more of a chance to make new things with what you have, you just need to apply a little time and be creative with your resources.
changing the why hunger works would trivialize the need to use limited area to farm, and would make encountering new food items while scouting not important.
If a very hard core/ (yes I have a death wish) version ever gets made I have a few suggestions
destroy all the bio domes except Omega. the ruined domes can be just more scouting locations with remnants of failed or killed teams.
at some point, have the tree in Omega die, have the node inside the silver wood tree get removed and replaced with fibrous taint, better know how to seal a area against taint...
make hunger harder, like it diminishes faster
add drowning mod, when you run out of air, you die
disable boats. all the flux in the water is quick to disintegrate the wood the ship is made out of.
place more swarm hives, purple spider pods, and tentacle stalks around exploration sites

I've learned that the taint can grow diagonally, meaning that if a block is open with a connecting corner then taint can grow in it, thus the way you have to barricade against taint is to create a wall that does not leave open corners in all directions, the easy way todo this is to make all walls 2 blocks thick at minimum.

hmm since you can download the modpack and it starts.
based on my limited experience trouble shooting there's a few things you should try.
1: check the options Technic launcher and make sure the Ram allocation for the mod pack is turned up to above 2 gb of Ram at least generally higher is better.
2: check the version of Java you are running, since you have 64bit OS make sure you are running the 64bit java.

1 have you ever been able to run any version of this modpack?
2 what specs does your Comp have.

its mentioned at by the guys in the teleporter room but you can find manganese under the arctic biome,
if your in the nether you are playing a older version, in the later versions their is no nether realm, or end realm. I would suggest the laser drill for Meutoite then.
also there are other recipes for making steel. use the TMI (too many items) interface to find them

the dolly only gives a movement penalty if its in your active inventory, so I store it in my Satchel or in my 2nd hot bar via the travelers belt (tinkers constructs)
also a cache and a wrench require 5 tin which I'm not quick to come by or part with in the early game.
A dolly and a Barrel require wood and iron
Edit: Plus I like to look at a wall of barrels with various forms of cobble displayed on them
