Ah crap, I found that while testing worlds during mod installs. I haven't encountered (or noticed) a stream in a BoP biome with altered water color yet in our current world.

That's interesting, I thought Streams handled custom water colors fine in vanilla at least, but something might have changed in the underlying implementation so I'll take another look. There will be adjustments in 1.13 to handle the new coloring for sure, but hopefully I can patch 1.12 too.

Cool, I look forward to having that possibly fixed. We love the streams so much, my current server population has set up shop in a stream-carved cave system. It ends up making some pretty badass features in the world!

It seems that the streams not taking on biome color is still an issue (possibly just with BoP?). Here's an image in the BoP Wasteland biome

I can definitely manage as it is, but would love to see it fixed. Hoping it's an easy fix and not a compatibility issue.

posted a message on Biomes O' Plenty - Over 50 new biomes, with new trees, plants, mobs, and more!

I have a very simple question: If I have an already created world, with a world border of say 5000 blocks with everything pregenerated, is it possible to then change the frequency of biome generation in the bop config to modify how often I find biomes in newly generated parts of my world outside of the 5000 block radius? Or is this all determined when the world is first created?

posted a message on My thoughts on 1.13's new Default Resource Pack, and Minecraft's evolution in general.

From what I've seen of the textures, Jabba has taken the default textures that had nice hard edges, and tried to essentially "anti-alias" the design. It doesn't make any sense, and the charm in Minecraft's look is lost.

This was the most glaringly bad new texture that I noticed:

When you're working with 16px*16px, you can't possibly hope to make it look realistic. It should look iconic.

posted a message on LF Older Players (prefer 21+) for Vanilla Shenanigans

I know it's not quite vanilla, but I'm running a lightly modded server for myself and a few friends, and we're all in our 20s. We're simply running two mods since we've played vanilla minecraft to death: Biomes O Plenty, and Mo Creatures (I've even disabled a few of the annoying as hell hostile mobs).

We've been playing for about a week or so but have mostly just built up a spawn village and such. I believe my brother has used the ender pearls to find the end fortress, but we haven't gone inside yet as we're not yet prepared. I've also disabled fire spread because some of the new biomes have trees so dense, the entire biome would burn down otherwise. I had to go straight up wildland firefighter in our redwood forest biome a couple times and lost huge portions of forest, so I thought it was a reasonable change to not have to worry about our forest village going up in flames due to a thunderstorm. Other than the 2 mods and the fire spread removed, everything is as vanilla as possible: no tping, hard difficulty, creeper holes, full nights, etc.

I'm having trouble finding anyone that's willing to play on modded servers these days, and would love to have you. Go check out the forum thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/servers-java-edition/pc-servers/2870127-1-12-2-swampcraft-18-survival, and don't worry about the application (I wouldn't mind a thread bump though :P). If you need any help with forge and such, let me know!

We've done some great work on our spawn village so far. This is taken from the ingame area map:

We also have a pretty cool in-progress world map using Minecraft's maps, but I don't want to spoil the fun of experiencing it ingame.

We're still looking for guys and gals to populate the rest of the world!

Did you try rejoining since I edited my post about an hour ago? Check that you are using the versions of the mods specified in the OP that I just added. I was using a dated version of biomes o plenty on the server, but all should be well now.

Wonderful builds MrLogic! If you want to hop in the server, I can get you all set up. Just make sure you have forge and those 3 mods and you'll be good to go.

EDIT: Sorry, if you had trouble joining. The server was running an old version of biomes and I didnt realize a newer version was released. I have now specified mod versions in the OP and as long as you are running those exactly, you should have no problems.

Hey, I have a server I've been running with my friends for awhile that we decided to open up to the public, http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/servers-java-edition/pc-servers/2870127-1-12-2-swampcraft-18-survival-mods. We're all in our 20's and we use discord. Drop a post in there if you're interested!

a lightly modded, 18+, survival community focused on relaxed, creative builds

We've been running a new world for a few days now, and our small tight-knit group would like to open up to new builders. We love to focus on creative, themed builds such as villages, castles, transportation networks, etc. A couple of us like to go it alone and make elaborate creations out in the wilderness or the nether. While we won't require you to be able make masterful creations to play with us, we would prefer players that can do more than create square cobblestone huts! If this sounds like your cup of tea, come take a look!

Some features of our server include:

    • Biomes O' Plenty - Adds 70 new biomes to the world (and in the nether) in addition to the vanilla ones, along with tons of biome-specific blocks and items. The way Minecraft was meant to be!
    • Mo' Creatures - Adds dozens of new mobs to the game, both passive and hostile. The new mobs do wonders in keeping the world feeling fresh and alive. I've adjusted/removed the spawn rates and configuration for nasty hostile mobs that destroy blocks. You can also ride ostriches, need I say more?
    • Fast Leaf Decay - Never waste time waiting for leaves to decay so you can replant. Leaves decay about 10x faster now.
    • Basic permissions system in place to keep random joining players from wrecking your hard built structures.
    • Admins online almost around the clock.
    • Friendly, casual, survival atmosphere. Chat up some other players to start a village with you, or do your own thing!
    • So far we've tried to keep our world relatively RP-like. Believable little towns and villages, and transportation networks between them. Help us expand throughout our world!

Here's some current builds on the server, mainly from spawn village:

Our server is running mods on the Forge platform. You will need the following to connect:

You need to be running at least the recommended version of Forge.

You will also need the required mods placed into your Forge mods directory. Ensure you are running the exact same version as stated.

    Biomes O' Plenty 1.12.2-7.0.1.2302 [REQUIRED]
    Mo' Creatures 12.0.3 [REQUIRED]
►dependency: Custom Mob Spawner 3.11.3 [REQUIRED]

    Better Foliage [Clientside Optional]
    OptiFine [Clientside Optional]

Fast Leaf Decay [Serverside, Not Required]

It's really easy to set up Forge for Minecraft, and you'll really enjoy what Biomes O' Plenty and Mo' Creatures add to the game! If you have any questions or need assistance in getting it set up, feel free to ask us here!

All new players will need to post here before being able to build on the server.

By default, the world is under grief protection and non-verified users cannot break blocks or access doors or chests. By submitting a brief sort of application, I can get to know you and grant you the proper permissions:

    In-Game Name:
    Age:
How long you have been playing Minecraft:
Tell me a little about yourself:
Upload a picture of or describe builds or creations you've made in Minecraft or other creative-type games:

Sidenote: We have a Dicord server set up for those that wish to chat by headset. Just send me a message and I'll give you an invite!

Well this is just lame... this got pushed down to page 3... all I'm doing is looking for players to join me in a seriously awesome game... how hard can that be??

If you want something like this to work, perhaps wait a couple weeks or so until the game permits a more immersive experience (mobs, pvp, etc.). Perhaps PM me then, and I'll gladly join you!

The player count stayed at around 5-10, and the server ran just fine. Yea there was a teency weency bit of lag, but nothing completely unbearable. Memory usage stuck at around 150-300mb.
