The Doctor Who Client Mod features the worlds first full functioning T.A.R.D.I.S in Minecraft complete with being able to see the interior from the exterior & vice versa, Translocation System (Travel based on coordinates), as well as the ability to travel to many planets and time eras through the Time Vortex and more!

Imagine a universe in which you are the 2100 year old Time Lord known as, The Doctor. Imagine You had the ability to travel to new planets, Now imagine that you weren't imagining this. You are The Doctor, you have a Type 40 T.A.R.D.I.S that you call Sexy, and you are able to travel to and explore an untold number of worlds, taking on quests to save those worlds in this exciting sandbox game with story elements built into Minecraft!

What does Sandbox/Story Gameplay Hybrid Mean?
The Doctor Who Client Mod gameplay is unlike anything you may have played in Minecraft in the past. The DWCM has what we have called a sandbox-story hybrid gameplay hybrid. What this means is that while the DWCM has a storyline incorporated with the gameplay it is in the background. It exists but you do not have to always participate in it, the gameplay you are used to with vanilla minecraft still exists, you can still build, mine and free roam. The story just adds another level to the game that adds an OPTIONAL way to enhance your gameplay. With the story comes actual cutscenes rendered in blender and maya as well as a narrative. Take a listen to what the cutscene animation that plays when creating a new game-save (map) will be like (or read it if that is your thing.)
NOTE: Open Alpha will not have the full storyline implimented. Only the first scene in the story will be included in the first public release.

The Doctor Who Client Mod is currently in Open AlphaD evelopment Phase which means that it has been released for download to the public for testing.
To understand this project and its content, it is recommended to read the entire post. Any questions asked about anything that has been discussed in this post may not be responded to. Reading through the entire post allows you to understand everything about this mod and the people working on it.

Hello Minecraftians, so here's an adventure map I've been working on for the past couple months or so. It started out as basically a simple creative build, but halfway through, I decided to change it into an adventure map. It is still in its first run as a map, so the storyline needs some ironing and nicening up, and there may be a few glitches. All feedback will be welcomed. So here it is:

Bellmoore: the first city:

Storyline (Long I know, I plan on shortening it)

Many rumors surround the city of Bellmoore. Such as that it is the first city to ever have existed, and that the town was built over the largest power source known to exist.
A greedy businessman heard these stories, and began to learn the arts of harnessing this power. Finally, he began to write the book. If he was right, this book would contain all the old secrets.

But the book had thoughts of its own. It didn’t want to sit idly on a shelf. It reached out, grabbing onto Johns mind, and twisting it. The poor banker’s mind didn’t stand a chance,
he succumbed to the power of the book. He added runes, and signs into the book, runes that gave it power.

Then, he left the book in the crypt, where its power would be felt.
John was released from the books power, as it turned its power towards the dead bodies lying in the crypt. John Smith returned with a small party, intent on destroying the book.
When they reached the deepest part of the crypt, however, they were ambushed.

The book had done its job, and now the dead were not dead. In the fight, the book was damaged slightly,
corrupting the magic, but not before every member of the party was slain. A small group of magicians sealed the crypt magically, so that only the magic red wand could open it.

They then locked the key in a temple deep within the woods,

and each took a piece of the mechanism that opened the temple, and hid it in three separate temples.
One piece was hidden in the air temple.

One was hidden in the fire temple.

One was hidden in the ice temple.

Deep within the bowels of the crypts, the book was hard at work. It was determined to become more powerful than ever. It became so powerful as to affect the minds even of creatures far away.
It attacked the minds of the cult remnants, turning them against each other. Very few could resist its pull.
They fought among themselves, destroying all they had worked for for hundreds of years. Then the monsters came from the forests, overrunning all.

You were hiding in your basement during the night, when you find a page out of your grandfather’s diary.
“We shut the door and split the keys, but I fear we have not seen the end of this. The book must be completely destroyed, not partly.”

Rules:

1. Play on at least easy.
2. Do not break anything save for melons, wheat, and enchantment tables.
3. Do not place anything except for the following items:(very important)
Redstone torches may be placed on redstone ore blocks.
Pressure plates may be placed on coal ore blocks.
Levers may be placed redstone lamps.
4. Golden apples are hidden in various locations around the map. They are your score, you may eat them, but that will subtract from your score.
5.(optional, and for multiplayer) Play as one of the following classes:
Archer: You may use bows, wooden swords, and leather armor.
Swordman: You may use any armor except leather, and any sword except wooden.
6. If you are playing with one or three people, make sure you only take things from ONE of the starting chests.

Objectives

1. You must find all three peices to the mechanism to open the temple in which the "Magic Wand" is hidden.
2. Use the magic wand to open the crypt and destroy the book (Enchantment table).
3. Find golden apples for your score.
4. Have fun!

-1.7 Added support for more players, and edited the fire temple.

Tips:

I advise you find the farm first, as that is where I located all the food.
I provided you with two maps, referring to them is a good trick.
There is a nice large circumfence (two tall dirt wall) running around the map. Ther are doubtless tricks to get around them, dont go around, there is nothing for you outside of it.
There is a secret temple (not mentioned in storyline) that you can find for bonus points.

Notes/glitches:

Why is there a chunk error going around the map? Because world editing tools and my CPU aren't getting along well right now.
EDIT: Fixed
On multiplayer, you should spawn right outside the door of the spawn, walk inside to start.
EDIT: Spawn is inside the building now, but there is a floating block above the spawn point.
if you find anything else please post them!

Download Instructions

Download and unzip the file
Go to the directory \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
copy the file named Bellmoore 1.1(or whatever version you have) and place it in the saves folder
read story.txt
play and have fun

Im a big yugioh fan and I got to say i hope you make this and dont give up on it, and if you dont mind me putting an idea out there, you could make it like an rpg style one (that might solve some problems idk), so its very much like the capsule monster episodes of the original (and best) yugioh, you have your deck holder and start with monster from a list (whether random or chosen) and hunt down other ones that drop their card when defeated which goes into your 'Deck' when picked up, then you have some type of objective or just random fun of running around killing and collecting.

idk how hard this would be to code as i only know C#, C++ and assembler atm :unsure.gif: but i may be able to find time to help if you want to give me somat to do, i guess i could look at learning what i need to know.

Im a games development student so im going to be getting better at coding quite fast to keep up with my course and i could try to find time to learn java (i think thats what its wrote in isnt it) on my day off and in some free time as its got the similar syntaxes that go across the C family.
