Go here, download the files, and replace the ones that are inside your .minecraft/bin folder with the ones you downloaded.

You do know that the program that opens is called javaw.exe, right? If you get a completely black screen, follow my instructions above. If it stays on the "Done Loading" screen or if it closes altogether, I can't help you.

It black screens, right? Right click on the desktop where there aren't any icons, and click Properties. Go to Settings, and change the screen resolution to the lowest available. You don't have to keep this change.

    Try these:
    -Updating LWJGL
    -Replacing the bin folder
    -Replacing the whole .minecraft folder
    -Downloading OptiFine
-Creating a .bat folder (click here for info)
    -Deleting old version of Java
-Setting javaw.exe to high priority in Task Manager
    -Updating graphics card
    And, if all else fails:
    -Buying a new computer

Try deleting the META-INF folder within minecraft.jar (use 7-zip or a similar archive viewer). I don't know what else could be the problem.

posted a message on Minecraft enjoys crashing on me
Minecraft will just close after a maximum of 5 minutes of play. I know many people have this problem, but I wanted to let you know what I've done and are not likely to do so you won't suggest it.

    -Changing settings
    -Updating Java
    -Updating LWJGL
    -Replacing the bin folder
    -Replacing the whole .minecraft folder
    -Downloading OptiFine
    -Creating a .bat folder
    -Clicking Force Update
-Deleting META-INF (it's not because of mods though)

THINGS I PROBABLY WILL NOT DO (for various reasons):
-Deleting my old version of Java
-Setting javaw.exe to high priority in Task Manager
    -Updating graphics card
    -Buying a new computer

If there are fixes other than the ones listed, I would be happy to know.
