This looks awesome! When I learned you could put banners on shields I was stoked, but I was disappointed when the textures became broken. I will be sure to download it, this deserves some attention!
I've been getting pretty excited for whatever Mojang was gonna do this year for April fools day, and I have to say they did not disappoint. With the addition of "Reality GlassesTMPatent Pending", you can now have a 3d minimap of your world, right in front of your face! Unfortunately, there's a stupid GUI covering it up, meaning you can't see any of your beautiful world. To fix this obvious mistake on Mojang's behalf, I went ahead and took five minutes and made the N0 Sc4n lin3s resource pack. Just plop it into your resource pack folder, enable it, and voila! No more overlay or scan lines over your minimap. Have fun!
I remember reading something from the developers that said (or implied, rather) that you would be able to change the loot tables of ores. Now with this feature implemented, I cannot figure out how to do this. Does anyone have any insight on how to change what ores or other blocks drop?
Okay, that looks hilarious! Have you tried it on a horse yet to create an actual unicorn?
I have, unfortunately horses don't have slots for head items, just one slot for a saddle and one for generic horse armor. I would love it if Mojang would allow us to put an end rod in the armor slot through commands, just imagine coming across a unicorn in an adventure map.
Is there any standard method that people use to have multiple large, open areas throughout a map while not leaving all the command blocks out for people to see? (e.g., just tping out large distances and using command blocks for transportation) I'm just curious to hear from some others on this.
Is there a way to detect when a player's xp level has dropped to zero through the scoreboard command? I was looking for tutorials and I couldn't find anything, nor could I find anything promising in the list of scoreboard objectives in game.
I was trying to turn a sapling, birch, to be exact, into a spinning sawblade. What I wanted to do was make a custom block model so that instead of a diagonal cross, there would be a single face going horizontally. However, when I made the model, it showed up as the infamous magenta/black checkerboard pattern. So my question is, how do you use custom block models with animated textures?
I seem to remember a while ago seeing a map thread that had 60+ maps or so, including a bioshock Columbia replica, and they were all really cool, but I can't find it after a while of searching, so if you know where it is then that would be great.
On linux the server files generate in your home folder by default. Go in your home folder, open eula.txt, and set eula to true. There is nothing to download.
To have the files in a certain directory, you need to launch the jar with a bash script that 'cd's to the directory before launching.
I have been trying to run my own minecraft server for the past 30 mins or so, and no matter what I do I can't get past the eula. To start, I have linux (Ubuntu 12.04), so I downloaded the minecraft_server1.8.jar. Once I run it it always tells me that I have to agree to the EULA, and to see eula.txt for more information, but it never downloaded the document. I tried making my own, but for whatever reason it doesn't recognize it. If someone could give me a download link for eula.txt that might work, any other ideas as to what's going wrong will be appreciated.

I was experimenting in the latest snapshot, and I discovered this about end rods:
Apparently, using the /replaceitem command and putting an end rod in the head slot, you can turn many mobs (including yourself) into unicorns...
This just made my day.
Command is this:
Change "@e" to whatever you find fitting.

Thanks, this will come in handy.
Just one question, is there a way to detect if the player is completely out of xp, instead of just at level zero?

/tp @e[type=WitherSkull,x=312,y=53,z=40,dx=1,dy=1,dz=18] ~ ~ ~1
I know that there is a wither skull there, but it doesn't work.
