If we do make a rule change I think we should emphasize the creative aspects as you originally envisioned, and get rid of all the complex systems.
As in no levels, no xp, no 1 block = x resource. Just making monsters, villages, dungeons, altars, lore, and then rping random events out based completely on mutual acknowledgement.
(of course this is a very radical change, but you know :tongue.gif:)
We can use a thread to log all lore and new monsters like the wiki. (except they won't get mad at us anymore :tongue.gif:)
I think it's fun trying to make the best rpg world possible as a community. (we seemed to have a lot more fun making dungeons and villages together then arguing about specifics and unfairness in rping :tongue.gif: )
Edit: I just realized I use :tongue.gif: a lot.

Jul 22, 2009Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft ServersQuote from Meteo2 »How do you guys handle death usually? I think I was the first to go. Personally I enjoy roleplaying that I start with a completely new character, but that's extreme and I wonder what rule others use.
Since death happens very often for me, I just run back to spawn to 'revive'. I think it's a just punishment since if you are in a far dungeon, you have to run all the way back to the spawn and then back to the dungeon, but if you're a newb and just near the newb town when you die, you don't have to run that far.
Jul 20, 2009By the way just want to note that reskinning monsters and restocking treasure and whatnot will be handled by ops so no need to worry!Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Servers
also we have tons of monsters to combat!
(we have one completed so far, working on another one)
Jul 18, 2009I don't think that makes much sense though. He must have some ulterior motive to banning us all. (maybe fixing up the server or something.)Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Servers
And he wasn't really 'bitching' it seemed like he was just crying for help.
I still believe that he was wrongfully accused and stick by my original choice.
(whose name I will not say here to avoid any conflict.)
The problem I have with accusing the one that you guys actually de-opped is that there was signs of griefing before he even joined. (Although I must say, he does have an inappropriate name.)
And I was watching over the person that I thought was actually doing it, and all the information led to him being the griefer. (Just his general behavior patterns.)
I could be wrong though. I don't want to start a giant flame war lol.
Jul 18, 2009I think it'd be wise to make a page on the MineCraft wiki?Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Servers
That way all the systems and whatnot can be posted up there and then users can argue out if a new system is balanced or not and how it should be fixed.
Speaking of systems, I just came up with a new one:
(I'm leaving all the specific stat stuff out because there's no real combat system right now.)
Soul-crafting can bind/unbind weapons to a user and increase its power through an enchant.
Upon soul-crafting a weapon it is automatically binded to the wielder. To unbind a weapon is another 'procedure', costing additional resources.
A proper soul-crafting room must be at the absolute bottom of the earth, and contain at least 40 gold blocks.
Example of an acceptable soul-crafting room.
To soul-craft a weapon, one needs three things: souls, the weapon, the proper skill points required for the enchant, the soul-crafting room, and presence of both the soul-crafter and the one who the weapon will be binded to.
There are two ways to obtain souls.
One is to kill a monster in an op-generated quest.
And the other is to soul-craft. The soul-crafter will automatically gain 50% (to be balanced/argued later) of the souls used when soul-crafting a customer's weapon.
Note: When soul-crafting a customer's weapon you MUST use their collected souls and not your own.
So how does that sound?
Edit: btw it seems as though we have some op-abusers.
