posted a message on Zombies to drop "Rotten Flesh", what's it good for?
I'm sure that Rotten Flesh will have a similar crafting value to bones. It won't be an edible item - eating zombie flesh is inadvisable in every single circumstance I can think of... ever.

Sorry Lil, I wasn't on when you were :tongue.gif: Hopefully lag issue should be fixed. Was running another memory intensive program xD

I heard rumor that you're WLing a server. I am very interested in this challenge, and I'd love to participate. IGN=TheAussieDoc, but that's right in my forum profile anyway. Hopefully I'm not missing a thread that linked to the server or anything...

    FAWWLKUUUUN PAAAAWNCH.

I'd say the best way is with TNT. Make a hole, put TNT at the bottom, make a redstone line out, lure them into the pit, then detonate a group of them.
    Irony at its finest.

posted a message on Nether compass
Yeah, there are too many problems with a nether compass. Maybe one that pointed north, west, east, south, so you can make mental notes as to where portals are and have some help linking portals, but the nether is heavily Y-axis oriented, unlike the Normal world which is heavily X-axis oriented. Even if the compass pointed at the first portal, you would still have more problems finding it than not just because you would have no idea where the portal was, above or below you. Nether maps, however, pretty much have all of these features covered... it wouldn't make much sense to make a nether compass. It'd just be redundant. And it wouldn't be much in the keeping of the lore of the nether. The nether is supposed to be such a hellish place that physics don't even apply anymore, and therefore compasses malfunction.

Except gravity. Gravity still works just fine.

posted a message on Will minecraft beta saves carry over to the game at release?
Notch has always warned us that we shouldn't get too attached to our saves - a warning that saves might become corrupted at the release of any new content. But, I'm sure Mojang is taking strides to preserve save integrity.

I'm having problem with cake, too.

I've been using this pack on a new world I made and I really like the feel of it, though it does feel more gallic Roman than Italian Roman. Good job; the atmosphere is well crafted.

1 million kilometres is insane... you could just make a loop and leave it on all day and night for a week, it'd be done right quick.

posted a message on Creative Griefing
Nondestructive griefing? I knew somebody who went into a server, very big and at the time empty. Apparently a bunch of folks had built a city. The guy, from lack of resources to make bombs, just went and gathered saplings. With a few hundred in hand, he went and turned their entire city into a forest. It was rather clever, actually.

posted a message on Even bigger trees possible now?
Well theoretically you can make a tree as large as you'd like by planting trees on top of trees, and now with clippers you can mend the foliage from separate trees together. I know that would constitute 'fake', but... eh, well. The point is, I suppose, really big trees like this aren't new. Branched trees can grow up to 16 blocks high max, but that's very rare. Go chill in a rainforest biome, you'll find trees like this rather frequently.

posted a message on Most Worthless Item in Minecraft
The most useless item... dead shrubs do have an aesthetic value (albeit an ugly one). If I had to make a decision, the most useless item would have to be the powered minecart, ye... simply because they have no return for the materials you have to put into it, they can't even push anything really, and their usefulness is limited because they can really only push in one way unless you set up an impossibly long redstone trigger. I guess you could have a chest minecart that goes back and forth down and up a mine between 2 powered minecarts, triggered by redstone, but the cost in redstone, iron, coal, and railway would be egregious at best.

    Quote from ZombieKidZac

    What else can I use???

You NEED photoshop or else your transparency is all buggered up. Paint will replace all empty holes with white space, so glass and roses and stuff will just be ugly white blocks.

This is a good thread, useful for packing up the pack before shipping it, so I'd suggest stickying it. I feel like it'd knock out a lot of dumb questions.
