I believe variants for each block are hard-coded into the game, so you can't really 'make' a new variant for a block.
New grass for Triton (probably not being implemented for a while yet, though):
Honestly I'm not sure if I like it... it's a bit busy for my tastes. It does a great job making forest floors seem more 'alive', though.
Removed my earlier statement... please don't quote me on that.

this is very awesome fishymint! I really like the splotchy shading style and colour choice you have going. Is this for any texture pack of yours?
Also I made a lot of textures for Butternut, and I'll probably put it up for download sometime. Here is the peony texture, I'm very happy with it.
@Australis, I don't think that texture is too planky, but maybe a touch to dark to be used as oak. Possibly spruce or dark oak? Keep the style going! it's very good. I'd love to see more textures by you. -

pinky4341 posted a message on Texture Artists' UnionCan I get some criticism on some textures Iv'e been working on recently? They're supposed to be somewhat simple textures. Any textures seem out of place? Is the color choice alright? What do you like the most/least?Posted in: Resource Pack Discussion
Thank you all. -

Patch12 posted a message on Texture Artists' Unionthank you everyone <3 drazile i will post a mesa picture sometime to show off more stained clay also I made it yellow on purpose, because the name of this pack is butternutPosted in: Resource Pack Discussion
here are ingame screenshots. no download soon because i've only done 150 block textures, biome shading, and font. Anything you guys would change? For me the biggest push is to just get more textures done.
I know it's a lot of photos, but I just spent the last 3 hours cutting up everything and got exited that I could finally actually play with my pack!

Yeah, I'll probably adjust the stone a bit and make some additional variants, so its not so pebbly. I think that may be a bit of the cause of the chaos.
Also, I've been testing out some wool. Might not work with the rest of the textures though:

Ringoster posted a message on Texture Artists' UnionPosted in: Resource Pack DiscussionQuote from Shadow_Forge_Master»I have done some 32x apocalyptic textures. I simply scaled original resolution to 64x and made lazy tileset with MS Paint. Feedback and critism are welcome!
(first blocks are iron blocks and those plates in stone are iron ore)
Not sure about that iron block, but the stone and dirt look lovely. I don't think you need that grey transition between the dirt and grass.
Felt like doing something un-cartoony for once, so I made this brick thingy: - To post a comment, please login.

Go on and make a pack with it! It's good! Although, that stone is way too bright IMO.
