Large bug, if it hasn't already been reported: When crafting at the table, if you leave something on the table it will throw out duplicates you can't pick up. So basically you'll have items lying there that arent.
Additionally if you throw something out of your inventory it will spawn the item like above, but will remain in your inventory.
You can pick them up but you have to have the same item in your inventory and you have to pick it up and set it down in your inventory. Every time you do, it'll add one of the floating duplicates to a separate slot.

You mean a Helghast Miner? I got one of those.
@ Dirnol: Thanks!

Right now there are over 2,300,000 people online on steam, and that's just a tiny fraction of the total number of steam users.
If Minecraft goes to Steam, it will be put in the spotlight. Steam users have a strange fetish for indie games. Minecraft is an indie game. Minecraft sales will skyrocket and Notch will get a lot of money for it, which means more development capabilities and the ability to hire more developers.
Notch already wants to hire more developers, if he makes more money he might even be able to start his own gaming company for Minecraft. It might even lead to Minecraft getting its own engine.

They can't even come up with legitimate reasons.

I don't see how it would matter that much. It'd take more resources with an infinite map, yeah, but finite or infinite it's not like it loads the entire map at once. It loads chunks of it at a time when needed and when previously loaded chunks aren't being used they 'go away' temporarily.

I don't waste materials. That's just a small part of what my mine looks like. There aren't covered blocks.

Though usually I make 3x3 tunnels instead of 2x2 for minecart space

Like, right clicking with a shovel would flatten the block, same with pickaxe on stone.

I've never really had a problem with lag in wurm.

Post them anyway. Even out of context I'd love to see the other HD blocks you drew up

I think Java could handle this. I mean, look at Wurm Online. If it can handle Wurm it can probably handle this.

Another thing that I think is hilarious is that the OP thinks boycotting Minecraft would make a difference. Sure, Notch might change his mind if the majority of his playerbase says "no", but that wouldn't exactly hurt him if they DID stop playing. You've all already gave him your money, boycotting it after buying it wouldn't really hurt him.

Maybe if you actually paid attention instead of hanging onto your misplaced rage you'd notice this. Steam has sales ALL the time. I can't go into the store without seeing some awesome deal. A few months ago they had a huge summer sale with some things up to 75% off, and last winter season they had an awesome Christmas/New Years sale, almost EVERYTHING was on sale.
Honestly though. You'd stop playing minecraft just because Notch took it to Steam? CCP brought EvE Online to Steam and it's doing better than before.
You're really, really misinformed if you think VAC is going to ban you for using hacks in multiplayer. Notch wouldn't be using Steam's servers for MP, he'd only be using it for distribution. VAC only comes into play on official Steam servers, not player owned servers. If you get banned it'd be from one server by the owner/admin.
Concerning how much Notch would make, last time I checked Valve works on the 60/40 Maker/Seller split. The maker gets 60% of the sale cost and the Seller (valve) gets 40%
This is based off of Gabe Newell's discussion on Steam where he comments that "$30 gross profit can be made from a $50 game sold over Steam, much greater than the $7.50 profit made from games sold through retail."

Here's a better picture.
