posted a message on in all honesty ender is less usefull than nether when it started
The Ender isn't really meant to be a dimension in the same way the Nether is. The sole purpose of the existence of the Ender, so far as I can tell, is to provide a stage for Minecraft's final boss fight. It's not meant to make travel easier or provide new resources, apart from those you get from defeating the boss. Instead of the next world, the Ender is the final stage.

To those of you having issues when generating a new world: Re-install java. I did and it solved the problem completely.

Also, as an aside check out the Moria seed.

I have the same issue, so no, it's not just you. Suppose the best we can do is to wait for a full release, or an unofficial patch, or something...

Well certainly nobody in this thread's claimed anything like that yet... so really, both your points are moot.

posted a message on Food too easy to get
Food is easy right now because peaceful mobs are infinite. Once mob persistence makes it in, it will become much harder to survive, because of the fact that you will have to farm for all your food and cannot rely on the currently massive amounts of walking meatbags to sustain you.

No, it isn't. Did you not notice how there was a complete lack of NPCs in the NPC villages? Or the lack of any footage of mushrooms biomes? Or the lack of any use for experience? Or the lack of any attack animations for mobs?

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done before 1.8 is complete.

    Quote from Nobscu

I respect his opinion, I just don't like how he hasn't accounted for the alternate side of the argument.
And using Proper spelling, grammar and sentence structure is basic. Anyone should be able to do it. It's not that hard.

What other side? He's stating his opinion. There are not two sides to an opinion. If someone has an opinion that contradicts his, that's fine, but it's not his obligation to speculate what someone with a different opinion thinks and to address that before they even state it.

It SHOULD be basic, but I don't find that's the case on this board.

I wish everyone would stop calling this thread stupid. He's clearly NOT some troll who's just out to bash Notch into oblivion, he's a Minecraft player just you or me who happens to have some legitimate concerns about Mojang's development cycle. The proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure alone should be cause for at least some level of respect...

You raise a few good points Zwan. I too have noticed an awfully lazy trend in Mojang's development cycle. They ALWAYS promise so much yet they are never able to deliver everything they say they will. I can't remember the last time a plan for an update was laid out and then carried out completely.

Sadly, I think this sort of dev cycle is even spilling over into other games. After watching the Scrolls "trailer" (which was only a pre-rendered cinematic designed purely for advertisement) I noticed that the release date was specified as "eventually".

That seemed incredibly unprofessional to me, to just say that they basically have no plan for how the game's going to be developed.

At 2:58, there seems to be an unusual creature far in the distance. Because you can see the sky behind it and the terrain rendering around it, I am lead to believe that it's an entity. And it looks quite big. Boss mob, perhaps?
