C'mon SDK. You could at least tell us if you are continuing work on your mods. Almost every multiplayer mod requires Modloader MP!

The 1.4.4 version works fine on 1.4.5 for me.

OMG IT DOES IN ALL! And i've gone all the while without my climbing and easy running abilities!

This looks amazing! However, I will not be using it as it needs forge.
I would use this for my server, if a Modloader version is released.

Are there any plans for a modloader version, or will it be staying in forge? Either way, it looks and sounds awesome!

Will I need to wait for this to update to 1.4.5 to use it again, or does the 1.4.4 version work perfectly fine? (I would like some evidence if any, as I don't want to screw around with my MC for like an hour)

Please Update to 1.4.5. This looks cool. WHY DID THEY HAVE TO UPDATE RIGHT AFTER YOU DID!? :steve_tearful:

It is against forum rules to ask for updates.

Did you read the forum rules? The forum rules said that you are not allowed to ask them to update their mod.
They can do it what ever they like, as long they own the mod.

He's not asking him TO update, he's asking if he WILL update. I.e. not, do this, rather, are you planning to?

    posted a message on [1.5 and up] [FORGE] [UNIVERSAL]IronChests 5.0 - Minecraft 1.5 update!
Why is this only in Forge now? In my experience, forge always crashes my game, and no, don't say I installed it wrong, because I didn't.

It would be all round better if you kept a Modloader version as well, so that those who do use modloader instead, can use this mod too. It looks amazing, but I won't use it because it needs Forge.
This isn't because I dislike Forge mostly. It's because it would cause an enourmous amount of hassle for the people playing in my server. Most of them do not use mods, and don't know how to install them. Most of the time, they crash their games even with the simplist mods, so I use integrated server mods instead.

Please bring back a Modloader version for SMP!

Let me formulate it this way: Your comment was: FOR GOD SAKE MOJANG! STOP WITH THESE UPDATES! IT'S GETTING STUPID NOW! If this post is the first thing you hear from someone you don't know most people are likely to assume the poster is just a little troll who likes to b*tch about things he doesn't like for some reason. You simply don't except that this person actually knows anything about the topic because all he does is writing that he finds something stupid without any reason given and in capital letters only. You didn't give a reason why you think it's getting stupid. You just threw a random rage-post into the room and that's it. Don't expect anyone taking you seriously when you are writing this kind of posts.
Also, just to point it out, the age says nothing about whether or not somebody knows something about something. I know a whole crapload about flags for example. Tell me how much YOU know about flags you wise, old man. I can also tell you quite a few things about how black holes are formed despite being only 14. At this point I could insert a "Your opinion is wrong, that's a fact"-meme but I rather would like to hear your answer. I'm always willing to have an intelligent, mature discussion with you by the way.

You really think age has nothign to do with how much you know. Have you ever heard of a little something called wisdom and experience.
Yes, I did rage, because the updates are getting way out of hand.
Also, you really think knowing about flags is a way to show off your intelligence. How about knowing quantum physics, game design and programming, filmmaking.
Saying 'your opinion is wrong, that's a fact' (and especially using a meme), just shows immaturity, and arrogance. Go learn some manners and respect.

I will not be replying to you any more, as I have no desire to get into a pointless and irrelivent argument with a 14 year old kid.

Apology accepted. See, we can work together after all :)

You might be surprised there, the number you are citing is gross (meaning before expenses) and a total of sales to date, That does not mean there is that amount liquid (spendable) on an in house testing team, After expenses many companies actually profit much less than is commonly assumed by those who do not know how business works ( I make no assumptions on your education, a lot of this is college level Business Administration and Accounting).

Now I will say this as a coder myself: Yes the rapid releases of sequential Release Candidates does make Modding challenging. This is true of any codebase one is working from... However a well structured Mod will require very little alteration to be made to work from the newer version, in many cases a re-compile to match the new obfuscation is all that may be needed.

In this latter case it's actually the MCP folks , who by nature of what they do are volunteer and unpaid, who need to keep on top of things.

    Cool.
True that those are gross income without expense, but that is only from the PC Minecraft. If you include the Xbox and Pocket version, Scrolls and Cobalt, then they have more than enough to at least start a test group.
I understand that they would drop in profits if they did have an inhouse testing team, however, in the long run, it would greatly improve their products, and thus, an even better reputation+sales (not saying its bad, but anything can be made better :D)

Well, since the first of your posts I read on this thread was "FOR GOD SAKE MOJANG! STOP WITH THESE UPDATES! IT'S GETTING STUPID NOW!" I have a good reason to claim you don't know what you are talking about.

No, that is not a good reason at all.
The reason I am saying it's stupid, is because Mojang are not addressing every issue they get, all at once. If they did that, then there would be no need for all of these updates.
You are 14, so you know less about what you're talking about than I do, plus, you still havn't got any excuse to say I don't know what I am talking about.

You made my point, none of those were 'official' updates and what I said (you can re-read it if you like) was "no less than 3". What Mojang is doing here is known as "Crowd Testing" it's fairly common in companies which, unlike say Valve, do not have the man power to dedicate to an inhouse testing team. Now personally I think calling them Pre-releases is a nomenclature mistake on Mojangs part (perhaps a translation issue?) These really should, by industry standards, be called Release Candidates.

As for "and, for each one, there was going to be a full game update", there wasn't one. Now had their in fact been then I would fully agree with you.

Ok sorry, i missed that point of 'no less than three'.
Mojang do have quite a bit of funds for an inhouse testing team now. The company has made somthing like over 160 million euro's just out of the PC Minecraft.

First: Stop demanding new features, because every new feature leads to new errors.
Second: The pre-releases are for testing minecraft for new errors. Don't update.
Third: Mojang releases minecraft, not mods. It is your problem and the problem of the modders. If you don't like the game out of the box, don't play it.

My personal opinion is, they should do no pre-releases. they should do snapshots. Also they should not add new features, they should fix bugs, rewrite the render engine and implement the api and then release a new minecraft.

I for one welcome our updating overlords...

    on a more serious note...
This isn't an update it's a pre-release,it is therefore optional. (perhaps calling it a Release Candidate would be less confusing?)
Yes, Mojang has been putting these out very very quickly since Mojira went live, this is a good thing, it lets those of a mind to do so to test the new version and report on new or less than optimally fixed bugs.

For those concerned that this unfinished work (some bugs are still with us) will be forced upon us on Thursday, recall that after 1.4 no less than 3 such pre-releases were cycled before the 1.44 Update... so what we see here is probably not what we'll be getting with the next Update.

People, get it into your heads. A Pre-release means we WILL BE GETTING AN UPDATE SOON! that means mods, and everything else, can't update untill mojang stop doing these updates.
I like bug fixes as much as everyone else, but this is becoming a stupid amount of updates. it's meant to be a halloween update, and it's 17 days after already.
Also, if you actually check, there were 4 pre-releases for 1.4.4, and, for each one, there was going to be a full game update, however, due to some very unstable bugs, they made a new pre-release for the next update. CHECK, before you argue.

posted a message on I Wish PC Minecraft Would Take A Break
This is exactly why i hate most people who play Minecraft on Xbox. the Xbox version ISNT MEANT TO BE AS UPDATED AS THE PC VERSION!
The PC version is the lead for all MC development, and it always will be. It is easier to code, and has been around MUCH longer. Also, before 4J can code ANYTHING on Xbox, they need Mojangs permission.
Also, if the Xbox version was as up to date with the PC one, 4J would still take longer to code it, and, need to wait for a full stable build to work off of to.

Xbox players, wise up and stop complaining. you're never going to be at the same update as the PC, and thats that. Deal with it.

How does it hurt mod developers? Its not a official release. These are "optional downloads". They are not forcing you to update. I personally think its better this way so that people can find the different bugs rather than a update come out that has missed bugs that the developers did not find on their own time. :/

You seem to be forgetting this is a PRE-RELEASE. That means the main game WILL be updated very soon. If it were a SNAPSHOT, then it would be completely optional and wouldn't affect mods in the slightest.
    Quote from Someguyfromcrowd

I was not aware that Jeb comes to your house, puts a pistol to your head, and forces you to download the update.

If you must keep playing with your mods, don't update. If the servers you're playing on update, update with them.

Oh, you don't say? I'm not talking about PLAYING with mods, I'm talking about the effort the mod makers go through to keep up with the game. How about you open your mind a little and think things through.
I'm not complaining about the bug fixes in the slightest, but the constant updates to the main game make it extreamly difficult to use and keep up with, especially for mod makers.

You, Sir, have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Trying to talk smart like that doesn't work. For one, you have no proof I don't know what I'm talking about.

As a matter of fact, I have never encountered ANY game crashing bugs, not matter how much I even try to get them. All these updates are stopping modders from making their great creations, and, it also show's that mojang arn't testing their versions properly. If they were, then there would be absolutely no need for all of these updates.

Finally. I hope this is the last update to the full version. Sigh. Arrows don't stick in mobs btw. I havn't checked anything else, but thats what i was most interested in, because it would be hilarious.
