MovePlus remains the best movement mod I've ever used.

While others have attempted, such as "Smart Moving", they have a critical flaw that MovePlus does not:

They're all needlessly overcomplicated by requirement of server cooperation or needing special resources like animations.

MovePlus allowed you to do new things with minecraft's existing resources. It was elegant. It was straightforward. It was beautiful.

breaks my heart to see it not being kept up.

I'm afraid I have to keep using Minecraft 1.11.2 for now... mod compatibility, but moreover, map compatibility due to changes in how command blocks are handled, now prevents me from being able to move to 1.12 or beyond... I do wish you would please consider continuing to support 1.11.2. I don't believe I'm the only one still relying on this older version.

having a new critter in the game is a step forward. These behaviors for it are two steps backward. However, we can keep the baby when we toss this gross bathwater, and get something cool later.

I think it could be improved if they make the following (admittedly unlikely) changes:

1. It becomes a neutral mob like wolves, zombie pigmen, polar bears without cubs, and endermen you don't look at.

2. It naturally hunts spiders... or zombies. Spiders and zombies don't have any natural predators, whereas wolves attack skeletons and creepers are terrified of cats. The idea of it only being out at night (to hunt) would be cool, and attracting them with big piles of rotten flesh or spider eyes would be a neat mechanic.

3. They should just be 'around' in the sky. Not necessarily only triggered by certain events. Relatively low spawn chance that's always active.

4. They should drop something COOL to incentivize hunting them! For instance, what if Elytra were to have come from THEM???

Alternative on 2: what if they were predators of endermen, and were actually native to the end, only popping into the overworld at night to follow some of the endermen that come here and feed upon them. In the end, they would be plentiful and glide peacefully through the void preying on endermen... shulkers could view them as hostile and their 'levitation' projectiles have the opposite effect on them, making them drop out of the sky, take fall damage, and be helpless on the ground for a bit, which gives a neat little reciprocating ecosystem to the end.

The last times this has been requested were so long ago that all the threads are dead. None of those threads, sadly, produced any solutions that are still applicable in modern versions, all of them seeming to have petered out in version 1.7 or so. Very saddening.

Generally it seemed to be rather well received but tended to fade away due to lack of interest. It is time to reignite interest.

There needs to be a standalone clientside-only mod that can project the predicted path (the trajectory) of thrown projectiles or arrows in minecraft, Perhaps leveraging the same graphical system that is used to draw the fishing line when fishing. Being able to see where an ender pearl will land when you chuck it would be instrumental.

And there HAVE been mods that did this in the past, so it absolutely is feasible. They just all... died.

Clearly I am not the only one who craves such a mod. Given that I lack the skills or experience to just do it myself, my desire to have this made available for our community must be represented in other ways.

Compensation available for enterprising coders. I will appreciate if you would give me a quote of your estimated expense in $USD to develop such a mod, in either direct message or posted in thread. I understand it may not be reasonable to expect to withhold payment until delivery, so we can negotiate a down payment or an up-front percentage. Likely method is through paypal unless you have a patreon.

Sildur, your shaders are exquisite. Just about every other one I have used makes nighttime entirely unplayable, and being indoors extremely uncomfortable. Your shader pack is basically the only one that I can actually play the game with. I've been using it to explore the architectural masterwork city of Celtanis (by planetminecraft user Natac) and your shader pack makes it look best by far!

However... I've noticed something about basically all of the shader packs available today. Sunlight is one color, but the light of literally everything else is ORANGE. ALWAYS ORANGE! I know that the base game of minecraft can't handle colored light, but these are SHADER PACKS that completely replace and override the rendering capacities of the base game! If a shaderpack CAN be programmed to account for the difference between colors of glass for colored sunbeams, I find it extremely hard to believe that a shader pack can't possibly be taught to tell the difference between glowstone and sea lanterns.

I don't believe shader packs actually use the default minecraft light maps AT ALL!

I hypothesize that you scripted your own version of light emission for use in your shader pack and manually added all light emitting objects to that group to be treated the same.

By all means please tell me if i'm wrong, but I think.. that you could make Sea Lanterns not glow YELLOW like the 'fire-based' light sources. Because as pretty as this scene is:

It's not as right as it could be.

It's not as right as it would be if sea lanterns were part of a different lighting group - one that emits white or pale blue light instead of yellow. All up along those arching columns. Underneath the city's support struts. Lining the stairs of the storage mainframe's pyramid. Lighting the streets...

But if it's not possible, I can easily be convinced. I'm just... skeptical.

Hi. I feel really stupid right now. So I'm just gonna dump this out here:

All I want to do is find every instance in every command block where an old entity id is referenced, for instance "MinecartRideable", and then simply replace that text with the new entity id, "minecraft:minecart". ... Without ransacking the REST of the tag. Is this... not a thing I can do? I'm afraid of messing up this world I've been trying to retrofit. I'll admit I'm in over my head, but giving up is not an option.

So far I figured out that maaaaybe I have to enter a text tag Command Contains "MinecartRideable" ... but what the crap do i put in the replace field x_x; it wants to ADD NEW TAGS not edit existing ones! I MEAN DAMMIT ISN'T THIS WHY WE EVEN WANT A REPLACE FUNCTION!? I just want to replace one string of text with another! I was expecting a SIMPLE INTERFACE like you'd have in notepad or some crap, not this... crazy rocket surgery control panel thing.

Can somebody please straighten me out? D:

Edit: I wrote this while I was very frustrated last night. I'm sorry that I did not wait until I was in a healthier emotional state. I neither am, nor was, angry at anyone except myself. I do hope no one took offense. So far I've been doing the text string replacements manually. It has sort of worked, but I'm still really hurting for an automated solution. I have over 10,000 command blocks that I need to update from 1.9.2 to 1.11.2 and NBTExplorer seems to be my only hope...

Regarding the skylight problem,

I think that the further away a block is above another block, the less efficacy its light occlusion should have.

[]chunk that is entirely filled with floating island casts a shadow downward

[]chunk immediately beneath floating island is pitch black

[]chunk beneath that has sky light level 1

[]chunk beneath that has sky light level 2

...

[]16 chunks below, provided there were no occluding solid blocks, it's as if the sky were totally unoccupied above.

unrealistic for caves, but more realistic for cliff overhangs or amplified terrains.

And I also think it'd look just fine, provided there were some cosmetic application of gradient.

I honestly can't imagine ever wanting to use a different pack. I swore by Isabella II for the longest time and I'm sticking with you on this one as well. I was having issues with the 1.8 custom models though. Got some spontaneous magenta blocks here and there o_o it's weird. So I can't use those. But I DO use absolutely everything else.

I don't know what I'd be doing without SuikaCraft XD

I really hope you've gone over the head of the person who started this thread to attempt getting permission straight from bonemouse. Because I'd like to see you fork this completely.

It's a good observation. I was actually expecting it to be there because, well, MineLP DOES modify armor. It has custom armor specific to the reshaped player models. I thought minecraft would've objected to that, but no. It only seems to come up with Optifine...!

See, with MineLP, the 'biped' model is replaced with a quadrupedal one. Because Horses. Did it do this sloppily? Could that cause Optifine to **** the bed?

I'm thankful that you're actually curious about this and not sweeping it under the rug. I know my ilk can be pretty obnoxious ^_^;

SO. Thread Search indicated no one has mentioned this for 1.8.0,

I belong to a community of ... quite a few people, all of whom use one particular custom player model modification called Mine Little Pony.

This mod is non-negotiable. Minecraft will not be played without it.

The server I belong to is equal parts:

1. Pseudo Adventure Mode Theme Park,

2. Wilds Survival, and

3. Freebuild,

But all of it Absolutely Requires Mine Little Pony!

And this server of ours finally, just a few weeks ago, updated to 1.8.0.

What a terrible mistake this has been. Because NOW, apparently, EVEN THOUGH:

Notice I didn't include *just* the crashlog at the bottom. That's because the game actually runs. You get to the splash screen, you can change the settings, choose your resource packs, do whatever, but the moment the game actually tries to render a world, it dies horribly.

I don't know why this incompatibility exists, but because nobody seems to have been talking about it, well DAMMIT, SOMEONE HAD TO SAY SOMETHING SOMETIME and it might as well be me!

Any version of Optifine after 1.8.0 is useless anyway though because we're not going to abandon Forge. There's too many other mods that depend on it. So what's a Pegasus to do other than complain? I am sorry if I've come off as too abrasive, but as you can imagine this is all rather frustrating. I hate being faced with an ultimatum between two critically important mods. Mine Little Pony and Optifine worked together before; there's no reason they shouldn't work together now.

Fix this with just one more tweak version of Optifine for 1.8.0, and multitudes will applaud you.

Presently, you're making MCPatcher look almost like a viable solution. This is madness x_x

hello again!

Tabby chat seems to not be remembering positional configuration settings from previous runs of the modification.

Furthermore, when my chat font is scaled down to 75% as is most comfortable on my screen, the the cursor location desynchronizes with with the tabs, so I have to click off to the RIGHT of the tab that I want to activate. And the chatbox scale grip doesn't detect any contact at all!

Every time I load up a new session, I have to scale my chat up to 100%, reposition the tabbychat window, and THEN scale it back down to 75%.

Not sure if you were aware of this unintentional operation ^_^;
