If this we're my server, would personally change from GroupManager to PermissionsEx. GroupManager is good for small servers they have just started but, if you're looking to grow, you should change to PermissionsEx, it's much easier to use. So, I've found a little issue, and its something that many people have trouble with so don't worry. You didn't put in the command, you put in the permission. Well you may be asking, "Whats the difference?", its very simple, permissions are nodes that are inserted into your permissions file is your using PermissionsEx or GroupManager. The command, is what players type into their chat bar to run a command. So, now that I've explained that, I'll help with your problem. Instead of putting "essentials.kit.obsidian" put the command that you would run if you are giving someone this kit in game.
