If I purchased DDOS protection for my server, is there an easy way to stress test it? I'd like to see how hard it is/what sort of attack will potentially bring it down.
1. In Game Name (IGN): My in-Game Name is “endermanslaya12”
2. What is your time zone? I live in the Mountain Time Zone.
3. How active can you be? I am already very active on DDC2, and can be even more active if I am a part of the staff. This means about 3-4 hours a day, possibly more, and at times when other chat mods or people with /mute are not on.
4. Have you read all of the rules? Of course, I actually have many times. I know when to warn, mute, do everything a Chat Mod does. I do not know if I should say this since I am not applying for guard, but SwagonaBun.
5. What is your current rank? My current rank is free, and I have been that way for a few weeks.
6. How long have you played on Desolation Detention Center (including the original)?: I have played Desolation Detention Center for approximately 6 months on the original DDC and ever since DDC2 was released.
7. Do you have a lot of experience moderating? If so, have you ever been a mod before? I have experience. I admin a few servers and know when to mute. I have lots of experience with being Mod/Chat mods on other servers.
8. Why should you be entrusted with the Chat Mod rank? I should be entrusted because I will not spam like some other chat mods have in the past. I would know exactly how many times to warn someone, as well as when it is appropriate to mute someone and for how long. Also, I would not abuse my authority by muting someone unnecessarily; for example muting for 1 second. Due to my game time on the server, I believe I can be trusted with this rank and would make a worthwhile addition to the staff of DDC.
9. Is there anything we should know about (notes)? I do not know if I should say this since I am not applying for guard, but SwagonaBun. Thank you for taking the time to read my application, and I hope I can help “Desolation Detention Center 2” out by modding chat when spammers are going to spam.
I have mixed feelings. The stone is good (though it has a small tiling error) and the ores are very nice. I like your grass and dirt as well. Though, there's other stuff (cobble, stone bricks) that just looks like lightly edited default, and that I don't like. I know you can do better than a default edit, and I'd like to see more of you.
Here's an example for reference:
As you can see the cobble is completely different (more smooth looking and less pixely).
The brick, though similar, was made from scratch. It's made to be smoother and textured slightly more "fancy".
I do see where you're coming from, but bear in mind I wanted to keep the original "feel" of minecraft with this pack.
Oh and the stone, I'll see what I can do about that. I tried my best to get rid of that tiling error (it was worse before!), but I'll look at it again.
Anyways thanks for your input, I do appreciate it!

Everything is made from scratch, no default edits.
It's not bad, but I feel you need to work on contrast, for instance dirt and stone are fairly flat, despite their detail.
I kinda see where you're getting but it's supposed to be like that. It's purposely smooth and less pixelated. But I'll mess around with the contrast and see where it gets me. Thanks for your input!
Yes the transition from dirt to stone is like a highway between a desert (it stands out). Wonder if CTM allows for a texture that transitions smoothly... time to research.
Yeah but it stands out on the default pack too. Not much you can do about that I suppose, with a world made up of blocks, haha.
This is Shortbread. A simple, smooth looking 16x texture pack for those who like the simple look of Minecraft, but want something a bit different. I've changed most blocks, along with several mobs. The UI is also completely revamped. Items and armour are being worked on.
If you have any concerns about the texture pack, or find any missing textures, etc., please let me know. I welcome any constructive criticism or feedback.
All blocks and items can now be animated in vanilla (See the link in the above post for how)... with the exception of chests and signs which still require the MCPatcher method. Anything that's not a block or item will likewise require MCPatcher/Optifine to be animated.
Thanks. Turns out the text file i made deleted itself somehow :/
Now that I have, I can say I only see problems with the dirt.
The lines in the dirt can look repetitive, and not connected, like real dirt. This can cause some strain on the eyes, and make it look un-appealing. I would either remove them, and fill them in with plain dirt texture, or try and connect them.
I'm not sure if they are there at all though, cause this computer has trouble displaying images on a HD monitor, so...
I guess I could make the lines a bit more faint. Did you like anything about the texture pack?

I do kinda agree about the contrast... Just trying to get it where it's smooth but not bland.
