This is the msg I get after just a few minutes of playing.
So I recently upgraded my computer and reinstalled drivers and other software. While playing Minecraft I have noticed that it was running a little slower with some chop here and there, and about 5-10 minute of playing my game will shut down and give me an error msg either about a bug in the game or Java not having enough memory. Anyone know a way to fix this?
You post about Redstone? Im not talking about energy, I'm talking about some kind for notation for a money system for people that play online with friends and RP.
Currency = Money = Silver and Gold COINS
Do we need them to survive in SSP? NOOOOO
This isnt a Do We Need It board, its a suggestion board. What is with all you flaming grieffing trolls?

Your idea has already been suggested before. Please make use of the search function or, if you are not in the searcher usergroup (which you can apply to by clicking on your user control panel and accessing the usergroup tab) you can use the google search also found at the default search link, which will provide a search specifically of this site that is quite effective.
It is generally a good policy to read the stickies before posting in any website, and this site is no exception. Particularly important to read are the following:
And, just as importantly, check the List of Already-Suggested Topics. It's not complete, but will save you time sorting through search results if you ctrl-f and find it right away. If something has already been suggested, and you aren't contributing some sort of massive radical change to the notion, don't make a new thread for it, just contribute to an already existing thread.
Thank you, and I hope you continue to contribute to minecraftforum.net.

Your post was an unwarranted harassment. Searching for currency or money on that page came up with nothing.
I think some kind of currency would be cool to have.
Maybe something you could make in the forge by putting iron(silver) or gold in the smelting slot. Maybe a 25/1 trade off for iron(silver), and a 10/1 in gold?
I have an idea for like a vending machine too, but I still need to work on the details.
I guess that really depends on how you look at an RPG. (This is for the first post)
Lets break it down. RPG - Role Playing Game.
Role - a part or character played by an actor or actress.
Some people just want a world where they can walk around and talk, kill monsters, and build things. I have seen a few RP servers on the list so people are making it work.
Being a D&D player myself and playing a crap ton of NWN for the past 10 years I still see that most of the gaming communities still view RPGs as Final Fantasy games, or Fable, or games where players kill things to level up to get more powerful. That is yes and no. You see, if you really want to get technical with it, racing games, adventure games, simulators, action games, shooters... well, they are all ROLEplaying games. You fill the role that the player is meant for. Story line or open ended. Having a story only makes the role a little more solid and fitting.
Just because the game is a sandbox doesnt mean when something is complete--I.E. a small city--the players cant make roles to play for themselves, or how about this. Life is a sandbox, you can do anything you want, but we have had people take charge and make roles that now have our world where it is today. Fire fighters, lawyers, doctors, apple pickers, teachers, road crew workers, salesmen, bartenders, personal trainers, kings, generals, pilots, engineers, and even bums. There are all roles that have been made and filled, in real life, they just happen to not be games.
When humans first started out Earth was a sandbox, and what did we do... we made society.
So in closing--and I'm sure that some of you are sick of hearing me rant on about how your definition of an RPG is only half right, any idea will work in Minecraft. You just have to have the people willing to set up the rules, and the people willing to follow them and BAM, you have your very own world where you do what you want.
When I try and join my own server I get a bad packet ID 14? Says I need to log in on the server window.
Whats that all about? I have the ports forwarded, but the server kicks me for that error. I'm trying to set up a server that my wife and I can play on.
