Wow, guys. I showed back up after such a long time to fix Raddaland (saw youtube vids with legit booster stuff now) and it was already done! I saw the wall and just wanna thank everyone who went back to it and fixed it. It's beautiful. Sadly, I still can't play the game without texture stretching and what-not; but, I'll be sure to stop in now and again.

I've tried all that you've said Vardox. I'm not sure out to change Java RAM in windows but have done it in Ubuntu. For some reason it won't run the command line anymore though (last I tried playing was beta 1.1) saying something about the class missing (it's the same command line minecraft.net says to use for ubuntu).

Crazysteve25, try turning on Vsync in your graphics card settings if you have it. It's done wonders for me in the past. BTW, v-sync forces all programs to not run faster than what your display can handle (normally 60 fps) so the program doesn't have to throw extra data around that the computer can't process fast enough. And I think you meant 100GB harddrive and 1GB RAM/Memory.

Oh, I forgot to mention that, yes, I do have Sun Java and not Open Java for Ubuntu installed.

And here's an old thread that has a picture of what the graphical issues are. Now that I think about it, maybe I should've just started posting there again...

I'm hoping y'all can help me. I've tried everything I can think of. I have a 2GHz Intel Centrino Duo processor in a Dell XPS M1210 with a Nvidia Geforce Go 7400. I've upgraded the RAM to 4GB and I'm still having graphical issues. I've tried both Windows and Ubuntu with no luck. After some time the client will also freeze and halt the system (in Windows it blue screens with memory parity issues).

    Here's everything I've tried:

Completely disassembled the laptop and reseated/thermal pasted heatsink.
    Changed RAM
    Updated BIOS
Reinstalled Java, game, and all drivers
    Updated both operating systems entirely

Here's all I can think of left.

Since my system is 5 years old now, the motherboard may have heated enough to desolder? some parts (It has overheated many times).
The HDD may need replacing even if all tests are fine

Can any of you think of anything else? I'm starting to think that Geforce Go 7400 just doesn't work with Minecraft.

    Alright guys, here's an update.

Got some more RAM and everything is good except my graphical problems. As soon as I start playing the glitches from the pictures in the original post start showing up and it will get worse over time. I believe it has something to do with the graphic card overheating but I can't be sure.

If anyone has some info that could help me, please let me know. I'm just one step away from a solid game experience now.

    Wow!

I can't believe that I've been gone for only 1 day and so much stuff happened! A third vote in 1-2 weeks? Trying to keep up with the guest rush here Radda? And so many contests! I've been addicted to Black Ops right now cause my cousin has his own 360 again. After I gather some ideas and hopefully get a job, I'll be back. Still gonna check in now and again though!

Interesting pics bob, what's it look like in standard texture pack I wonder.

Wow Radda, fast voting there, by the time I learned about it on here and went in it was over. Congrats Lelouche for the moderator position!

Since no one has said it yet, I'll start it off.

Congratulations UncannyValley for becoming a moderator! Be sure to work hard, but not too much! To everyone else, especially me, don't be too sad, I'm sure another vote will be happening.....in a month or two. >.>

As I've heard, dunno if it's true, with the promotion of one to mod, there will be another promotion voting session for mod to admin! Think carefully now!

Alright, I'm done. See you guys on the server!

Alright, I've now gone to the x server configuration and forced Vsync on. I'm holding at a steady 60 FPS with lower CPU usage, but the memory is still being maxed out. Graphical glitches like the picture seems to happen less often but still appear. I'm sure that increasing my ram will be the most effective fix here.

Still wondering why "Limit Framerate" actually slowed down my FPS to 3-10 and gave me horrible gameplay though.

Hey guys, I've been trying to get my laptop to work better with Minecraft and I'm stumped. At first, I thought it was overheating, but after looking at the temps right after closing, they are in acceptable levels. So here's my specs and what I've come up with:

    Linux: Ubuntu 10.04
    Latest SunJava installed
Intel Centrino Duo 2.0 GHz Processor
256MB NVidia GeForce Go 7400 Graphics Card
    1 GB DDR2 667 RAM

First off, I've read that the Limit Framerate option would help keep FPS manageable and CPU usage down so I turned it on immediately. After a few days of 3-10 FPS I decided to turn it off to see what would happen and I could finally move smoothly with an FPS of 40-200. So have any of y'all had the same situation or have any idea why this happened?

And this is how my graphics look, I haven't seen anything on it but hopefully someone can help.

The screen will flicker once in a while too and after some time, the game will just give up and crash. Not a crash with a report but just poofs from existance.

For me to run the game I have to use this command as well:
    java -Xmx948M -Xms512M -jar Minecraft.jar

If I try to turn the Xmx to 1048 like it says on the support page of Minecraft.net the game will crash within 2 minutes but at least this way it will run for an average of 1 to 3 hours. The only thing I can think of is to increase my ram to 2GB until I get more money.

Sorry if this is a lot of information, I didn't know what y'all needed or wanted to know.

It's ok Megasus, everyone's a hypocrite in some way or another. It's mostly just trying to share wisdom. Also, your picture looks like it has a MASSIVE mustache, like....rich man from the 40s mustache. Is that what it's supposed to be?

I have the same issues with people tphere'ing, but I wouldn't want it disallowed. I've always asked if I could bring someone to me so they have time to set up; this isn't to mess with them but to show them something I'm working on. I've also tried to use tptoggle every time I'm on to avoid the random person getting in the way of construction.

As with rules, when the list is finished, will you all be using !rules as it is already implemented in Simple Server? Then all you would have to do is add "Type !rules" in the MOTD without actually adding some new feature. Just my two cents.

Alright, y'all, it's picture time for me.

Here's the roof of my castle as it sits now, I just liked the pattern so I figured I'd put it up here.

This is right before I finished the roof; looks like the original XBOX logo right?

These are the video glitches I've been talking about. Imagine putting up with this and an FPS of 5-10 and that's my daily play.

This last glitch pic is interesting; imagine the sand texture and iron texture fighting eachother in rapid time. It looked like a disco was going on in my castle! BTW, I haven't used any iron for this project.

    My cake is complete!

It's a red velvet cake if you haven't seen one before; don't know how you couldn't, only the greatest cake EVAR! It's chocolate with cream cheese icing and shavings of chocolate sprinkled on top.
