It's not easy to tame horse by just jumping on his back. You need to do it few times till hearts pop out
Oh no, not a feature that requires skills and practice?! Anything but that!

What I always like about these threads is the OP always deletes the original content, but there's always that one person that already quoted the entire thing so it's perfectly preserved for others to see. I don't know, something amusing comes from that feeling.
Threads like this one has taught me that if I come across a post written in a fit of rage in the future, I'll make sure to quote it as fast as I can :3

This is by far the most effort I have seen somebody put into making themselves look stupid in a long time. You hate the horses because your friends are stupid?
Thank you for quoting his entire post before he edited it out (which I don't blame him for doing, seeing as though it's basically just "I play with children who can't behave, and there are bugs that haven't been fixed yet and it's crashing my laggy server and I can't find my armoured horse, therefore horses are a terrible addition and I have decided to start griefing my own server by walking around killing them") :P .

Bye-bye. Pity you didn't think to simply not update if you really hate the new version so much, but whatever. Your loss.

posted a message on OP Armour
Completely agree with you. I feel armour should be a trade-off between strength and (for example) mobility. As it is now, there's just no reason to stick with leather armour, or no armour -- once you have enough diamond or an enchanted gold armour, you're essentially a one man army.

There should be a sacrifice involved, somehow, in choosing to go for high-tier armours. Fall damage, sprint and hunger could all be modifiers here, so you can essentially don yourself in leather armour and sprint around, relying on mobility for defense, or don heavy armour and not be able to sprint, and take more damage from falls.

This would also make PVP combat far more dynamic and fun as well, as you'd have different strategies for fighting different players. Against leather-clad opponents, it would be about inflicting as much damage as possible, whereas against heavier foes, it might work just as well to try to push them off ledges or harrass them with arrows as it would to face them in close combat.

posted a message on Better Crafting Tables
We already have two different types of crafting grids, though, the one in your inventory and the wooden crafting table. It would be neat in a way if you had to make an "advanced" crafting table to craft bigger objects, but apart from the boat (and even that isn't that big :P ) there aren't really any such objects in the game. There is metal crafting, but we already have furnaces and smelting (and now also anvils), so I don't think we need even more blocks for them.

Think a better way to improve them would be to add things like the Project Table in Feed the Beast, where you can place things on the grid and not have them pop out of the grid if you have to leave the table to get an ingredient you forgot or whatever, a crafting table that also has some limited storage capacity, or a table that "remembers" recipes for you.

All of these exist in mods, and they make crafting "complicated" objects (of which there are many in Feed the Beast :P ) so much easier.

Yep, there's a mod for this, and birch forests look really good in it, so I wouldn't mind this one bit. I've played Feed the Beast so much I thought it was a vanilla feature up until now, to be honest :P .

<<----- Call of Duty is in that direction. Ramirez will show you the way.

    Longer answer:
I don't know if I would mind weapon hits giving you "afflictions" like "dazzled", "in pain", "fear", etc. that affected your combat/movement abilities or toyed with your vision or whatever, but the thing is, I feel there's been a good deal of changes to how MC works recently and I don't know if I would like even more changes so close on the heels of those, so I'd much prefer to get that from mods, to be honest. Personally, I and many others in the community feel Mojang should feature on belowground diversity, or just diversity in general.

Then again, I have Feed the Beast and other mods, so I don't particularly need too many more new features anyhow :P .

posted a message on Improvements for Bats
Only agree partly with this. I would like it if there were more "atmosphere creatures" in the game. Flocks of birds in the sky, fireflies (particle effects) in woods, distant schools of fish in the ocean, etc. Nothing you could interact with, just visual effects for immersion's sake.

I see why they added bats first, given this is after all a game where you spend lots of time mining, though I agree the lone bats you encounter don't add that much atmosphere to the game. I'd more prefer rare flocks of bats suddenly appearing out of the dark all at once scaring the **** out of me. They do have a bit of an "annoying insect" feel to them right now, to be honest.

As for them getting in the way: I know I'm only speaking for myself here, but I've never had a problem with bats getting in the way. If they really do get in the way that often, surely you can just swat them away? Or, as others have said, place torches so they don't spawn?

As long as you're okay with the idea of your hand being on the other side of the screen, seems like an okay idea.
    Errrr....

...yeah, as a matter of fact we would be okay with "our hands being on the other side of the screen" as that as it's kinda the whole point of the suggestion.

    What health tweaks?

I don't think I am either, cause of horses. But I can't help it... they should've stayed with mo'creatures.
You're not updating because there's a new mob  ? Wow, how did you make it this far, they've been adding stuff since the first release.

Can what was done by the very mod author himself be stolen?
Do you know this for certain, or are you just making stuff up? As in, have you heard from the developer that this is his models, and that he/she has not given permission?

posted a message on Added suggestions.
I don't know if this forum would have much use if none of the suggestions ever made it into the game ;) . To be honest, I don't have much faith in the approach of many people here (making highly detailed suggestions, counting supporters, etc., because I think the idea itself should count more than just popularity), but sure, there's a good chance the devs keep a watchful eye on this sub-forum :) .

posted a message on Make skeletons not so hard to kill?
Agree with the others here, don't find them too hard. Nor do I really find them all that deadly accurate, you can dodge their arrows with ease. Summary of my thoughts:
    • They encourage you to make bows and arrows (see my sig). They will hurt you if you attack with a melee weapon, but as * said, that's kinda the whole idea of ranged units.
    • They have a quite small detection range, so most often you see or hear them before they see you.
    • I think groups of mobs, especially different mobs, are meant to be a great challenge, and I like that they are (again, see my sig :P ).
    • If you don't go outside at night, and make sure to place torches when underground, you can largelly avoid having to fight them in the first place.
    • If they overwhelm you, you can run away relatively easily, and simple "evasive maneuvers" like zig-zagging is often enough to throw off their aim. There's also most often good cover to be found.
    • As others have said, there's just as strong an opinion in the community that Minecraft is too easy, and having a mob that's deadly at a distance (as opposed to every other overworld mob except perhaps the Enderman) alleviates this somewhat.

Minecraft is easy for people with diamond armor and stuff (like me), but when you first start a world its lots harder. Its almost impossibe to kill a skeleton without a bow when in water.
Works as Intended, I suppose, though I happen to disagree with you on the difficulty without . I feel I can kill them easily with just an iron sword and no armour, but then again, I always play without armour so I suppose I have more experience fighting that way.

posted a message on Better Stair Recipe

Sure why not? Plus I wouldn't need to make trips back to a crafting table to make them.
I think the dependence on crafting tables (and the "wasteful" resource cost) might be the whole reason for why the recipe is the way it is -- that stairs are an "advanced" block you shouldn't be able to craft right away, you have to at least make a crafting table and amass a surplus of stone first.

So not sure if I like this idea, really, and definitely don't consider it something that's in need of "fixing".

posted a message on Endermen teleporting into your home, un-provoked.

Here are some solutions to your problems.

    1. Kill the dang thing. They're very vulnerable in your house.
    2. Make an underground house. Chances are, the endermen are too far above ground to accidentally tele into your house
    3. Make a 2 block high ceiling.
    4. Suck it up. You're making a big deal over such a tiny annoyance.
4b. Just don't look at the damned thing and it'll eventually teleport back out. Like a wasp buzzing around your head; just leave it be and it'll go away ;) .

As for not teleporting into player made structures, I read the whole thread and saw that no one mentioned how hard it would be to code that. I mean, seriously. First the mob has to determine the player made blocks, and then the space inside, and then Mojang would have to code them not to teleport inside those blocks. It would be near-impossible and could cause so much lag.
Even that wouldn't solve it -- you'd still have Endermen teleporting into homes built on natural terrain, for example, if I decide to just move into a cave and leave the stone floor as-is.

Hey you're right, mining does not have very much hazards.
Agree, it doesn't. So long as you place torches and don't dig beneath or above yourself, you're pretty much 100% safe all the time.
