posted a message on What annoying thing do you do?
I hide a secret room in almost everyone's buildings (Note: Small server with friends). I just can't help it. Hilarity ensues when they find it, though. Ideally I have a whole little creepy workshop and a bunch of signs saying things like "He'll never see it coming."

Also, I find that you can annoy some people by running around with a pickaxe swinging at the floor of their house. You're never on a block longer enough to actually break it, but it annoys people to no end, especially on glass floors (Warning: If you use a good enough pickaxe a glass floor will break).

We reset the mod and it worked again, but then stopped working. It seems like if we make runes, then log out, we will no longer be able to use runes.

    Any help here?

    Thanks.

EDIT: We are using the bukkit version. The server does recognize the use of a teleporter, it just doesn't work.

EDIT2: It seems to be specifically for waypoints/teleporters...

I'm getting the same issue. I haven't done much testing, but on my server (Using the Bukkit plugin) Teleporters work fine until I log out, after which they won't work again until a server restart. This is a serious problem, because my server has built a massive teleporter network to get around with.

posted a message on What I would like to see: Weird servers
This isn't really a request and it isn't a promise that I'll play anything that fits these criteria, but I'd really like to see some cool 'weird servers'. I'm not talking about weird people, those show up on their own. :Sheep: Here are some examples:

Cave server: A custom generated world that is entirely a massive cave/cave system. You would want to put a layer of Adminium at the top to keep people from going up there and walking around. There could be houses built into the walls of this massive cave, walkways spanning it, lights everywhere, etc. I think that it'd be pretty cool. (I swear I've seen an old creative server like this before...)

'Indoor' city: A lot of people want to make cities, but nobody really wants to live in them. Ideally the space should be rather limited in this server, to promote living in the city instead of a nice log cabin. The reason I call it "'indoor' city" is because you should spend most of your time inside the massive buildings that make up the city. It would be cool if everyone got at least one massive room in a central building, big enough to lay down grass and build a log cabin or whatever you wanted to in there.

I can't think of many examples right now, but that's the general style. I guess that I'm getting bored of the usual 'green hills' server. They're almost all nice, but I could hardly distinguish them visually, or gameplay wise.

Anyone know of any servers like this? Anyone else want to share an idea?

posted a message on Creepers - Should they explode?
I think that creepers should definably explode, but that there should be an option to turn them off in the server.properties file.

In my server (running Runecraft) we have built a complicated teleporter system that will take you from anywhere important to anywhere else important. I turned monsters on for five minutes and a creeper took out a critical node, isolating the spawn point from the rest of the system.

posted a message on Soon, I will live in a box
I once did something similar. I made a boat, picked up a sapling, and set sail until I found a tiny island (about 10x10). No leaving the island.

It was a lot of fun. Eventually I had more trees than I knew what to do with, growing on big orchard piers. I would kill the occasional animal that floated by, but that was pretty much it. The island was too small for monsters to appear, unless I was deep down in the mines.

Just a minute ago, I realized that lit and unlit redstone torches have different block ID's, and teleporters probably work off of block ID.

Now, five minutes later, I have a Digital Dialable Teleporter. :Sheep: Just enter the code (Up to 16 combinations, I think) using levers on the sides, and click the middle twice. The only caveat is that it consumes the redstone torches used to dial it.
Digital dialable waypoints are infinitely reusable, but I can't think of many uses for those yet.

I apologize if this has been thought of and posted before. I just thought it was cool.
