    Now that I see it, I think it would maybe make more sense to choose a shader file as a whole rather than options one by one. In previous versions, I had different people's shaders for different effects. I would have loved the possibility to switch between entire shader files at the click of a button.

    Even if you used just one shader file, you could save multiple copies, one for each setup. DoF+AA, Waving plants+water, sunshafts+bloom, etc.

    Just a thought.

    First I just want to thank you. A lot of my favorite mods seem to have vanished with the release, along with my favorite texture pack artist. It's really been a disappointing couple of weeks in my Minecraft universe, so thank you for some good news!

    I'm putting in my vote for the shadows. The fire is cool, really it is, and I'm sure you could find more applications for the effect. However, how much time does one spend looking at fire vs. in the forest where the shadows would really shine (pun intened). My houses don't even have a fireplace after a few... incidents.

    I'd welcome either though. :smile.gif:

    So, what brightness do most of you play on? I usually play at 100%, but figured I should check other brightness with the textures and found some of them much too dark at "Moody" brightness.

    Just a heads-up: Still working on the terrain.png textures, but it's slow going. Still none of them are up to Soartex level of quality, so it will be awhile (maybe another week) and I don't see them being quite as good as Soar's even then, but hopefully they're an upgrade from the 16x16 ones there now.

    If anyone wants to contribute, an End Stone and End Portal texture would really help. My attempts are too much like the Sandstone texture.

    Yes, it does work in 1.0.0. Be sure to use the latest MCPatcher (or OptiFine once it's updated for 1.0.0).

    There are a few textures that are just re-sized default textures, but they're all there.

    Nope. Didn't you hear? They started digging into the ground under the hotel in Vegas. They made the mistake of digging straight down and fell into a big cave. Nobody brought wood to make ladders (no trees in the desert) so they're stuck. Never coming back.

    Someone had to do it. Now that 1.0 is released, I know I'm not alone when I say I can't wait for an update. Take your time, just really looking forward to having some wild grass in my life again. :smile.gif:

    1. All you need is MCPatcher. It includes Randomobs if you choose to use it. You can use OptiFine *instead* of MCPatcher in order to use HD texture packs. If you want Randomobs you will have to install that separately.

    2. Yes. Lots more memory. In my experience it's just not worth it (game stutters on a Radeon 6850 with 512x packs). However, if you still want to try it, read the FAQ in the original post. Specifically #19. I recommend just using the standard 128x myself.

    Okay guys...

    I am nowhere near the artist Soar is, but I'm going to put in some hours this weekend and next week to try to get the terrain.png updated for 1.0. If others want to help out, I welcome it, but let's try to stick to Soar's style as much as possible.

    I can adapt from current textures:

    Mooshroom Grass
    Cauldron
    Enchanting Table
    Alchemy Table
    Nether Brick


    I will have to make from scratch:

    Lily Pad
    Vines
    Stems (for melon/pumpkin)
    Red Mushroom & Stalk
    Brown Mushroom & Stalk
    End Stone
    End Portal block
    Nether Wart

    I could really use some help with the second set, if you guys have ideas.

    Remember: Please nothing from other packs. We want this to be unique to the Soartex pack.

    I don't think I can play Minecraft without your textures, and you're so close to completing the terrain.png.

    Minecraft will be out of beta in just 6 days. Please keep it up a little longer for release?

    Is the Far View option supposed to be working on the 1.9p5 version?

    Other features are working, but the moment I turn that one on it goes to "Saving Chunks..." and then black screens.

    Not using any other mods. Fresh 1.9p5 jar.
