Jun 21, 2011Sprue_Rubbles posted a message on Digital Diamond: Massive Cacti FarmThis is not pointless because there are so many ways to play Minecraft. He/she is building the most efficient way to create Cacti. It's almost like playing a bean counting or resource management game. On top of it, he/she built a beautiful temple around it. It's brilliant and one of the great possibilities of playing Minecraft.Posted in: News

Variety of races in villages is a great idea! Not sure about the size though. Why not small and large? :smile.gif:

Yeah it should pretty rare and if you want to visit it, it should have a really dynamic environment like trading, rumors ("There is a lava island in the middle of the lake."), relationship building (or destroying), etc.

I love this idea. It could charge once it sees you.
Also another vote for a water mob.

A lodestone that pulls in other ores.
More gemstones like sapphire and tourmaline that have unique properties for crafting.
An announced ore that you discover on your own.

"Simply download them and place the .zip file as-is into the texturepacks folder."

In my experience this is definitely true. It's not YOUR game.

Another one is lodestone. It would be found at or just below the surface (so says Wikipedia) and have magnetic properties. Or say you are mining and come across a small batch of iron ore. You mine it and in the center block is a lodestone. Magnets would give a new mechanical contraption without modernizing the setting too much like pistons do.

I recently started playing and I was curious about what it was like in the early versions. Did Notch tell the players how to craft and what to look for? Was there a Minepedia so that players like myself can look up how to do things?
On one hand, it would be great to find new blocks, crafts, mobs without knowing but on the other hand, the resources have helped me get started.
