D'aww Dorian you give me too much credit! You totally inspired me to continue my pack too, ya know!

Squee! Well I'll start off by saying I *LOVE* the intricate designs of your pack! The Netherrack in particular is a favorite of mine! It looks like some sort of hideous substance of boils and blood and fleshy..stuff! It's great!

The stone is clean, yet has depth! It tiles so very nicely! I'm big on making sure things don't look "tiled", and since your stone has no real marks that could easily be seen as repeated when multiple stone blocks are placed near each other - it's great! I think you did a top :iapprove: job!

You have a very unique style that I can see repeated in each piece and it all ties together wonderfully! Your wood work is amazing! I love the texture. Once again, smooth yet detailed.

The iron door is BEAUTIFUL! (Squeee!) I love it!

One of the logs (the pine?) has some strange white and coral colored...things on it. Are they supposed to be like a type of fungus that grows on pine trees? Or just an unusual type of bark? If so, bravo for originality! But I think some people might not like the style since it's rather different. Perhaps offer a second texture for people to choose from if they're not so brave as to try something like that. :biggrin.gif: A lot of people use logs for buildings and such and they might be turned away by the coral/white-ness if it changes something on their server and makes it look strange or not what they had intended for it to look like.

The windows are brilliant! I can see this sort of gothic-y style coming out big time with the windows AND the ladder. A great, original idea for the ladder too!

Bwahah I have to say that I adore the Soul sand! It has little skullsies! That is a great addition that's very subtle but completely blows you away when you see it!

    I can't wait to see more! :biggrin.gif:

    (Gasp!) Dorian this is beautiful!

I'm dreadfully sorry that I slinked off like I did for so long, but I've been back and have been working on it! I just haven't been around the forums that much lately. Anywho..

I LOVE your texture pack! It's so great to see something like this! I love the ornate styles and the dark feeling, exactly what I was going for in my own pack!

I'll post more later but I'm thuper excited to see more!!

That's actually not a bad idea. A closed beta for the terrain would be helpful, but still keep the public from seeing things not yet meant to be seen by everyone. :happy.gif: Thanks legendary!

TBH I'd release it. I'll look at screenshots of of a texture pack and think it looks nice. Then I'll download it and it'll look nothing like the screenshots. You lose details when you go from in game textures to textures represented via screenshot. Its hard to give criticism over something you can't "physically" interact with. Just my opinion.

That makes a lot of sense, I suppose my wonder is if I want that sort of criticism on an unfinished pack, though. But I guess helpful comments are helpful no matter what stage, eh? :wink.gif:

I think I shall wait until I finish the GUI as well, though.

Woo! Furnace is finished. I shall edit with screenshots soon!

Still debating over whether or not to release a terrain beta. In one hand, I don't really want the pack to be seen until it's done. But on the other hand, I really want to get some good feedback from people looking at my textures and not at screenshots of my textures. Hmm.. :unsure.gif:

    Quote from raptorfangamer

I dont have to defend it, its got an unwanted lip that works and I dont let in any outsider...

now if you want me to say something stupid. highly offtopic. and even suicidal...

    1. open the door
    2. let a mob in
    3. trap it
    4. torture it
    5. paint it
    6. cut those lines
    7. show the horrid body of a former mob in the shadows, no more mobs ever

That reminded me of Amnesia. "Paint the man, cut the flesh". Works too, cause I'd never go in that house in a million years.

Oh gosh, how did I not notice that?! Thanks! All fixed and OCD-friendly. :biggrin.gif:

I also added leather straps to the double chest (it looked strange on the single chest). Not sure what to add to the single chest to give it more oomph. I may even add more to the double chest if I can think of things.

LOL :laugh.gif: Your test track catching fire is so funny!

But I LOVE that metal door, I don't think I had said so yet. The wool is so great, too! I love the stitching on the edges, it really gives it a nice feel.

    Awesome pack! :wink.gif:

    Thanks legendary and dorian! :biggrin.gif:

The notes on the redstone torches will be noted! It does seem a teensy bit too tall, and you're right - I think a base would take that rave feeling away.

As far as the chests go, I did agree with you at first - hence me trying some ornate designs on it, so I'll keep trying to add more to it. I suppose plain wood looked better than the poop that I was attempting to put on it with designs, heh.

Yay! More updates! I'm piling out these textures like a powerhouse on steroids! I've done my chests as well and I actually like how they came out. At first I tried to do an intricate design blah blah, but it really didn't look...right.

Good ol' fashioned wood and brass seem to do the trick. I've developed a bit of a style for the pack's table blocks as well with the dark wood and the brass corners/borders. I think I may stick with this.

I'm also working on the diamond block a bit more. I'm going to be adding a brassy box sort of thing for it to be inside.

After that, I'll finish up the record player, trap door, and the note blocks and I think that's it for my table blocks. Then I need to do the furnace and the dispenser which will look differently and be made of stone.

Blah I'm rambling on again. Here's the eyecandy!

Sorry for the awkward angle, the single chest always faces away from other blocks. :dry.gif:

posted a message on Do you think minecraft would help in shipwreck?
I would immediately throw handfuls of dirt beneath myself as I jump up and down to try to see if I can see any signs of civilization in the distance.

So no, I think Minecraft would actually hurt my survival chances.

posted a message on Middle Earth Texture Pack needed!
Not sure about cows into horses. I just imagine drinking horse milk and wince. They had cows in Middle Earth, pretty sure of it.

I think it'd be a great idea with lots of cool opportunities, though! Most of Middle Earth is very medievaley styled though, so it would seem that it'd be a generic medieval pack for the most part. Maybe the weapons and armor could be a little more recognizably JRRT.

Such an interesting idea! I'd never use the higher resolution packs, unfortunately. My computer would melt. o_O

But the grass and dirt are my favorite. So cute. :happy.gif:
