There is a username that I want, so I went on the Minecraft Name Checker to see if anyone had it, and it said it was available. After this, I went to go and actually change my username, and it says its taken. I've noticed though;the username I want was previously owned by someone else, and it's the second last name on the history. Even though it says it was changed a while ago, it still says its taken. Does Mojang save their usernames for long periods of time? I thought it was only 37 days?

Can anybody help me? I manually installed it, and Minecraft loads up perfectly fine, but in-game, the mod ins't there? (I pressed 'O' when I was in my inventoryand nothing happened).

What amazing things have you accomplished when playing on Minecraft?

-One time on factions, there was a massive base in the sky with 12 faction members inside. I built my way up, tnt cannoned the side, jumped through the hole and killed all 12 of them. I got 6 sets of protection 4 diamond armor from their dead bodies.

It's quite opposite for me actually. See, they attempt to attack me back, but the fact that I took everything from the before hand makes it kind of hard. Also, my factions base is in a massive hole in the ocean all the way down to bedrock with 6 layers of obsidian with crafting tables surrounding the outside layer. Over top of this it is claimed with my 35 faction members, which I am the owner. Also, I could honestly care less if they grief me. It is only a video game, so I don't ever get upset about it. If they raid me, I simply say good game, then plot to kill them again.

Saying that all griefers cry when they themselves get griefed is stereotyping, like saying all blondes are stupid. I grief with style. I plan out everything before hand and leave with everything they own.

I mentioned the fact that I donated to Optifine to emphasize the fact that I LOVE Optifine, simply to explain that I use Optifine on 1.8 and still lag.

Also, do I need to be online with 1.8.3, or 1.8.1? I'm currently on 1.8.1 Optifine and it says, "Can't Resolve Hostname."

I've donated to Optifine, and VBOs changes nothing for me. Me, and my entire friend group all experience 1.8 problems. Even my friend with the giant $1000+ gaming desktop...

And I've already seen the changelog.

Also, the blocks DO look slightly different, closer to the older textures such as cobblestone and leaves.

I'll try it out. On 1.7 my FPS is generally around 40-70. On 1.8 it climbs down the ladder to around the 1-15 FPS section...

Um.. Because it's HILARIOUS. Since I am better at PvP than the above average, I just blow people's houses up and kill them... Griefing is what I like to do most in Minecraft. Find somebody, pretend to be their friend, set up a trap, steal everything, kill them, then build something obscure so that when they respawn they ragequit. When they don't come back for another week, I find somebody new to troll.

This would make it a lot more interesting and entertaining, considering the fact that I always die from noobs just because they have better armor than me and I am great at PvP. I would definitely donate to this server!

How many of you out there thinks 1.8 is awful to play on? The terrain always glitches out, textures look worse, and the FPS.. Seriously the FPS drops. I play on 1.7 and get 40-60 FPS, then on 1.8 I get around 0-20... Also, and update mentioned in this update was "Considerable faster client-side performance"... I don't see this happening... Yes, the resource packs are improved, and it is very, very fun to jump around on slime blocks, but really? It is so much slower than 1.7. There are so many good 1.8 servers, but I can't play on them because they are 1.8...

I wish the server wasn't 1.8... 1.8 is awful. I'd play on your server, but 1.8 lags and glitches out way to often.

You can be mature and still swear. I have a very strange sense of humor, but I am still very polite...

Does anybody have any great TV Show/Movie-Based maps that I could build? Hogwarts has already been done, and Middle Earth is too large. Can anybody think of a map/city/town from something that isn't too large, or that someone hasn't already done yet?
