Hey just stopping by to commend sadimusi and everyone else who continues to keep the project alive.
I got sucked into school and then into Starcraft 2 playing/casting, so no time for minecraft anymore.
If anyone's interested in checking out what I'm up to now they can send me a PM, otherwise good luck with SimpleServer and remember: keep it simple.

Feb 21, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from Trouble_SR »Ok, After reinstall the server with all new plugins and so on. I got it to work. But the !reload or reload does nothing on my server just to let you guys know.
It does, I just think you're not using it right :smile.gif:
Thanks for the comment though! It was valuable.
Feb 21, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from Trouble_SR »I have ran a server for 1 month now with SimpleServer running on it, but the groups don't work. I set myself as group 4 aka owner and it worked, but now I cannot remove the group owner from myself even if in the member-list.txt is set Trouble_SR=0 also I want to make new groups but I am having the problem like the server don't see the new groups and it still see's the old groups and old member-list.txt
Does any one know the fix?
type reload and press enter in the server console whenever you make changes.

Sorry for bad english
This is not a mod. This is a Server Wrapper. However, you can use mods in it, you just have to set the Hamachi jar file as the "alternatejarfile" in the simpleserver.properties file.
I appreciate your enthusiasm but please don't give advice unless you're completely sure what you're talking about
Hamachi is a virtual private networking application.
SimpleServer works fine with Hamachi. You can do one of the following to set it up
1) Use all default settings in simpleserver.properties except useWhitelist=true should be set. Then, add miencraft usernames to simpleserver/white-list.txt. This is a basic setup for a protected-by-username-server.
2) If you want to restrict by IP Address (meaning only those on the same hamachi network as you can connect) You have to set serverIP in simpleserver.properties equal to the IP Address assigned to you by the hamachi network. If this changes, you'll need to change the ip in simpleserver.properties. This ISN'T a recommended solution unless your hamachi IP never changes.
Remember, you CAN do both, but it's only really necessary that you do one or the other.

First, read this page:

Then, after you do the steps that are on that page, if it still isn't working, visit this page:

you should post this in the official simpleserver thread but it is coming in the next version or two.
Feb 3, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from Nic »(doublepost but anyways)
Doesn't bukkit commands work? Plugins and all load, but I can't use any commands off of it. I really love the grief-protection the wrapper gives, but I want to use bukkit aswell...
make sure useSMPAPI=true if useSlashes=true.
This passes unknown commands to the minecraft server (and hence, bukkit).
Jan 31, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from Twit »Hey guys.
Just installed this and it's all working fine & I can connect to the server.
Only problem is that when I add anything in any of the simple server config files, they overwrite back to default.
This is on Linux CentOS 5.5. Say I add User=4 to the member-list.txt. I'll save it then restart to make it work and it disappears. Same with simple server.properties. On restart of the server they go back to defaults.
Anyone got a fix?
say reload in the console or !reload in game as an admin to load the settings into the server after changing the file.
Jan 30, 2011I've been updating this. please use it.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Jan 30, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from Oberon2010 »Howdy all!
Well, I'm trying to get this wrapper up and running and I've run in to a bit
of trouble. I can only log in to my server if I turn onlinemode to false. I thought
maybe it was a problem with some forwarded ports, but that didn't work. I haven't
changed the default ports set up in the simpleserver.properties file (internal port: 25566,
port: 25565, rcon: 25500).
Currently, I have the server setup on one computer and I'm trying to log on from
a separate computer. While the online mode was set to true, I tried logging on to
the local address and the external address. No go. But, if I switch onlinemode=false,
I can log in with no problem.
I tried to search this forum for a solution but I couldn't find one. In fact, I got the
idea for switching that variable from GICodeWarrior earlier in this thread. Anyway,
any help would be appreciated.
1) Make sure you havent changed ANY of the settings in simpleserver.properties. You can test this by deleting the file, starting simpleserver (it will tell you that it's recreated the file), and then starting simpleserver again. If it still doesn't work then:
2) Minecraft.net is down or too slow to auth your login : (

not possible with a wrapper
