Calm down. Just because Minecraft's graphics have a retro styling does not mean that you can run the game on a Commodore 64. Minecraft will make a computer work just as hard, and in some cases harder than, many other contemporary games.

    Please provide your DxDiag log.
    http://www.minecraft...g-a-dxdiag-log/

Please make sure you are using 64-bit Java, if you are on a 64-bit machine.
    http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Please also make sure the nVidia card is rendering Minecraft, and not the integrated HD graphics provided by Intel. The problem is just usually incorrect settings.

EDIT: Actually, just forget it after a post like that I'm pretty sure it's going to be quicker and less infuriating to figure it out myself than rely on a guy who can't tell the difference between a Commodore 64 and a latest gen set of hardware.

So last month I shelled out about $1250 on buying brand new PC components. I have a hyperthreaded i7 Intel 3.5 gigahertz quad core processor, 8 (soon to be 16) gigs of DDR3 1866 Speed RAM, an Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard and an Nvidea GeForce GTX 770 2gb GDDR3 graphics card.

My PC shakes, snarks and farts like a Pitbull. I can run 3 CryEngine 3 games on absolute max graphics side by side and get 60 frames a second in all of them.

So why the hell does a simple, 100% virgin vanilla with no mods, no special loaders on default graphics settings Minecraft crawl to a halt within 30-60 seconds of loading a world and become completely unplayable at 0.3 frames a second? I've tried reinstalling, fresh downloads, new drive location, turning graphics options to minimum and it STILL does this! It's playable for as stated about 30-60 seconds, but after that the game just... Dies and continues to slow down the longer I keep the game open.

Why does Minecraft suck at optimization so much? It's obviously not anything I'm doing and my PC is one of the best on the market, so the fault doesn't lie with me in any way. What am I supposed to do to make this game playable again?

Also, I'm having the same problem as Coolgazaboi, my Barley farm, that is separated by a line of wood from my Cotton farm, is now also full of cotton, Barley nowhere to be found

That's strange. I have all my crops (Barley, Wheat, Melons, Pumpkins and Cotton) all in a single shared area of fields... Never had that happen before...

Looks like there's a backlog of people to respond to. My other mod takes up so much time, I want to make more flowers and stairs!

Specula: Redwood saplings doing funny things, I'll investigate.

Much appreciated. I'll keep an eye on it, although when Direwolf20 spotlights this mod, you'll get just as busy with this as you will with TC. Best of luck to you. :3

Really? didn't want to try it cause I was afraid of losing em like when you destroy normal leaves =)

Thankfully not. Also, once the bushes finish regrowing to full size, they eventually grow more so in theory you only need one to make a huge farm (in theory. Just one would take FOREVER) Eventually, you'll end up with something like this:

    Which is my garden. :3

And yeah, even after leaving my game on for nearly 20 hours RL time straight, the redwood tree didn't grow. I logged out, logged back in and all the saplings in that 7x7 were gone except one sapling. I have to give up on the Redwood, seriously harvesting the saplings from existing trees is excruciatingly dangerous, expensive and time consuming. -_-

Thanks a ton mDiyo, Am loving both this and Tinkers Construct - Could we possibly get a little more info on the plants, and how/if we can move/replant them at all? I have found them just fine and have made the combo fruit bowls with em (Awesome), but I would very much like to be able to move/plant them closer to home so I am not spending 20 min running all over the world gathering em... it kinds goes against your statement about the mod not being about running around hunting...

You can break the bushes and replant them at home and they'll regrow.

I seem to be having a great deal of problems getting the 7x7 redwood trees to grow. And the regular redwood trees for that matter. I plant a 7x7 square of the big redwood saplings as the tooltip suggests. I've sat there for 6 hours of real time and they haven't grown. And whenever I log off or shut down minecraft and come back, all but one of the saplings have vanished. Any idea what's going on?

I see. So x86 is for something else entirely? I just assumed it was another representation of 32bit, as whenever I see x86, I don't see x32 or 32bit.

Apparently, Wikipedia just says 32bit is compatible with 86bit. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up. After messing around and trying to get Forge to behave, I've got it running.

Well I'm sorry if I came accross like that, I just found it a little hard to believe the reason as to why you couldn't use Forge.

I just wasn't aware that x86 was usable by x32 OS. Else I would have installed it without posting. Also wasn't aware that the regularly JRE updating Java that most computers have was good enough. The guide I looked at INSISTED on the Development Kit as well, hence why I wasn't sure.

I have no idea what this "JDE" is you speak of, but there are JRE (Java Runtime Environment - required to run Java applications) and JDK (Java Development Kit (Includes JRE) - required to develop Java applications), and BOTH have 32bit download versions (Download shows as x86 on Oracle, another way to refer to 32bit). And I'm pretty sure you need the JRE to run Minecraft at all, seeing as it's a Java application.

That's the last time I rely on guides to installing things that don't come from the authors themselves and also the last time I ask for help here. Man, you come across as seriously condescending lol.

I'm normally a purist (I don't use mods at all for any game) but this one caught my interest. The problem is, due to the need for the JDE, I cannot use Forge (I have a 32bit OS, minimum required is 64), and therefore cannot use this mod because of that Forge dependency.

Is there any possibility of this being released as a 'stand alone' mod? Or am I doomed to never be able to use it?

You have mods installed causing the issue. All I can say is uninstall each mod to find out which one is causing the issue.

I do not have any mods installed, and Xray was installed purely for the purpose of that video and then uninstalled. The only thing not vanilla is the faithful 32x32 texture pack.

So I started a new survival SP game and set myself up. As I got more embedded in my mountain home, I began needing a constant supply of stone and cobble and I set up a cobbblestone generator. However, after a few uses, it stopped working. I went down to check it and found all the redstone. ALL of it. Had popped up off the ground. Dust, repeaters, torches and even several regular lighting torches as well! I caught the entire thing on video here:

I'd really like an explanation if anyone's got one. What the hell is doing/causing this?

That is absolutely the weirdest thing I have EVER seen!

    What have happened?

You should post this in the "Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms" part of the forum. There will be more answers.

    Thanks, I'll do that.
