The thing near pistons with a hole is the texture for the piston face of an extended piston block.
The new item is shears.
That's it...that's all that is new. - To post a comment, please login.

Yep.
Someone should make a schematic that has the automatic version.

I see. Even better.

Yep. Maybe with the piston changer mod by the original guy.
I DID manage to change fence gates by hacking redstone torches on top of them.
This same method should be able to be used to also change the orientation of stairs and the water level of a cauldron.

It works on mushroom blocks.
Edit: And Silverfish blocks!

Everything can be found on the minecraft wiki Data Values page. Here.
Basically, when Notch/Jeb first added colored wool in survival they were worried that they would take up too many data values.
They got around this by making each color of wool a different damage value. This value is only saved in the same area of data as the damage for tools, but it codes for different colors. Since then this method has been used for stone bricks, leaves, slabs, silverfish blocks (I think), saplings (I think), tall grass (I think), and POSSIBLY mushroom blocks. (Somebody should test mushrooms).
Anyways, the usable blocks for this changer currently are Wool, Stone Bricks, Slabs, and probably silverfish blocks.

I added a description of it. If you have a better one or a video I will add it.

That's a good way to get the variations of Stone Bricks.
AND you can probably get the unused stone slab (damage value 6 or something).
Although you WOULD be limited on wool. Only up to 8? So no brown wool.

Higher damage values?
Anyways as far as I know it works for wool, double slabs, stone bricks, and logs.

Yeah, the only real use I have found of it is being able to make stone slabs directly from cobblestone slabs.

Due to a neat glitch it is discovered to be possible to change the block data value in Minecraft. This affects wool, stone bricks, logs, slabs, and many other blocks. It can be used for useful things like changing the color of a block of wool or changing whether a stone brick is mossy or not.
It requires sticky pistons, a bit of redstone dust, a few redstone torches, and water.
Premade Machines.
If it doesn't work try moving it to different coordinate areas.

Try not to build it in the +X & +Z direction.

They are pretty darn easy once you find a spawner.
