    i just started up a new world when i loaded it up i got some tools and headed into the nearest cave. turns out the cave was one of the most diamond-infested, ravine-filled, super-caves i have ever seen! it had litteraly almost 50 ravines all connected in some way and on my first night i got around 24 diamonds! :P i wish it was on a server though... full diamond armor i be rockin D:

    My most Epic fail was when I first made a Diamond Sword and immediately ran into a creep. Charge the creeper but I accidentally threw my brand new not even used sword at him. He then blows up taking my sword with him :( Good Times Good Times!!! My First house was a sand house lol. I look at my old buildings now and they were all squares with a castle ish roof!

    -On multiplayer, turn on command blocks.

    Wow this map is just Boss! i cant belive that they could make the original ant farm survival better! im totaly doing a LP on this later today. Thanks SO MUCH for making this map MgPlatinum your the best! im also going to subscribe to tannahs channel, hes a great utuber and seems nice. Also mgplatinum, if you need anyone to beta-test or pre-realease-test any maps for you please consider me, not begging or anything just giving a sugjestion. Your maps are great and i want to be apart of the awesomeness!

    Bat:



    Appearance

    Bats are visually the third smallest mob in the game, being only slightly larger than chicks and Silverfish. They are hard to see in the unlit environment in which they reside. They have dark brown skin, wings and little feet.



    Spawning

    Bats will spawn in darkness. They can also be spawned with their spawn egg. Bats may spawn in an unlit house if its interior is large enough.
    On superflat worlds, Bats have been observed to spawn in even 1x1 spaces that are unlit, such as in mob traps, possibly because the code that spawns them cannot find any other place to spawn them. This indicates that Bats do not require a large cave to spawn, but large areas do have a much higher chance of causing them to spawn. Bats will not spawn on glass or slabs, but could spawn randomly in your world if the light level is low enough and the Bat doesn't have enough spawning space. Due to the fact that bats can only spawn in a light level of 4 or less, the presence of previously-unseen bats could also indicate the presence of hostile mobs, as the spawning conditions of bats are within the spawn limits of hostile mobs. The bat is the only passive mob that spawns in darkness.


    Behavior

    Bats sleep during the day and become active at night. A bat will hang upside down when it is idle, but once the player approaches, the bat will fly away. Bats cannot hang on transparent or non-solid blocks. When placed in a minecart, bats can move the minecart around on their own.
    A lot of times, Bats will squeak (similar to its real life function of echolocation). By listening for bat squeaks, the player might sometimes be able to find caverns, which can be useful for obtaining resources.
    Although the bat is a passive mob, they still despawn when going too far away, like hostile mobs and Zombie Pigmen.
    Bats do not seem to care about lava, and if there are lava streams coming from the ceiling, they may fly into one and burn up. Most bats, however, are safe from lava, both because lava streams are uncommon and because lava gives off light, and bats spawn in the dark.

    Chickens:


    Appearance

    Chickens have white feathers and wings, yellow beaks, yellow feet and red wattles. Their texture is somewhat checkered. Although they are around 1x1 blocks their chicks however are half their size with huge heads compared to the adult Chickens.


    Behavior

    While in a loaded chunk, a chicken lays one egg approximately every 7.5 minutes (6000 to 12000 ticks).
    They follow the player if they are holding wheat seeds.
    When a chicken falls from a ledge, it quickly flaps its wings and falls slowly to the ground to prevent fall damage.
    Chickens appear to wander around aimlessly, not even attempting to stay out of water.
    They are drawn to light in a dark environment.
    They flap their wings in water to keep above the surface.
    If burned to death they will drop cooked chicken. (With e.g. Flint and steel or Lava.)


    Breeding

    Main article: Breeding
    There are two ways to breed chickens; hatching eggs or feeding adult chickens seeds (wheat, melon, pumpkin or Nether Wart). Both can be done simultaneously, increasing their spawn rate.
    Hatching Eggs: Chickens can be hatched by throwing chicken eggs on the ground or a wall. Each egg has a 1/8th chance of hatching a chick, including a 1/256th chance of hatching 4 chicks. A full stack of 16 eggs has an 88% chance of producing at least one chick.
    Feeding Chickens: Feeding two fully grown chickens seeds will spawn a chick, which grows into an adult after approximately 20 minutes. Adult chickens can be bred about every 5 minutes.


    Chicks

    Successfully breeding two chickens or breaking enough chicken eggs spawns a chick.
    Chicks move faster than adults.
    They take about 20 minutes to fully mature.
    As a chick, they do not lay eggs and do not drop resources/experience if killed, like any other baby mob.
    Chicks follow their parents or other adult chickens until they grow into an adult.
    Chicks can swim in water if they try.


    Farming

    Farming chickens is beneficial, as it provides a renewable source of chicken eggs, raw/cooked chicken, feathers, and XP. As with other animals, you will want to keep them in an enclosed or fenced area so they don't wander off. Chicken farms can generate quite a bit of noise; you probably will want to build large farms at least sixteen blocks away from frequently used areas.
    Remember that ungathered eggs will vanish after 5 minutes -- merging stacks does extend that, but even so, if you're trying to build a large population you'll want to gather then several times a day. If a pen of chickens is abandoned (all chicks grow up, then eggs are not gathered for at least 5 minutes), the next egg harvest will average at least 70% of the number of chickens (hatching to about 83%).
    Automatic egg farms can be created by placing chickens in a pool of water suspended by signs. When the chickens lay eggs, they fall through the water into a collection area.
    In the Minecraft snapshot 13w01, hoppers were introduced. Putting one of these below the output of an egg farm automatically collects the eggs for you. Add a chest below that to store the eggs, or, if you are feeling creative, add an automatic dispenser below to turn the eggs back into chickens. Then you can wait for the chickens to age and then kill them, automatically or manually. Note that one chest full of eggs will yield an average of 64 chicks.
    This video is a proper example of the new automatic farm possibilities after snapshot 13w01 with hoppers.

    Cows:

    Appearance

    Cows have black/brown skin with white spots. All cows have a pair of horns on their head. They are most likely modeled after the Norwegian Red Cattle.


    Xbox 360 Edition

    They are unaware of cliffs and holes in the ground, leading to them occasionally falling and dying. They drop leather and raw beef on death (as of 1.8) and can be milked. They are usually found in herds of around 4 cows, but can sometimes be found alone. If they die while on fire, they drop steak instead of raw beef. They do not breed however.


    Behavior

    Cows roam in the Overworld, usually in herds of 4 to 10 (however it is not uncommon to find a lone cow). They tend to walk around slowly and aimlessly, mooing, but they will flee and jump wildly if attacked. They also tend to jump off high cliffs (and die in the process). Cows make no attempt to stay out of water and will follow the player when he/she is holding wheat, which is used for breeding. Cows will make even deadly attempts to follow the player. They also can climb ladders in certain conditions. A cow can be milked by right clicking the cow with an empty bucket. A cow may be milked an unlimited number of times.


    Breeding

    Breeding cows with wheat will create a calf and may give experience. The parent cows have a delay of 5 minutes until they can breed again. Calves will follow their parents or other adult cows until they're fully grown. A calf looks similar to an adult cow, but its body is smaller while the head remains the normal size of a full adult cow.
    Calves move faster and take 20 minutes to fully grow. They do not drop anything when killed. However, they can be milked.


    Farming

    Trapping a herd of cows in an enclosed area and breeding them is beneficial to the player. Cows drop more types of useful resources than all other passive mobs (excluding the rare Mooshroom), thus providing the player with an unlimited supply of steak, milk and leather.
    Breeding two cows also has a chance to grant a small amount of experience.


    Bugs
    Cows will sometimes spawn trapped under jungle leaves or in blocks. While the cow is following a player, it may glitch and start walking back and forth or side to side in attempt to follow the player. To fix this, just simply punch it. Although this will temporarily stop the cow from following you.

    Mooshroom:

    Appearance

    Mooshrooms use the same model as the cow, but have red skin (with the white patches also used by the cows), big black eyes, and are covered with red mushroom growths. The mooshroom calf does not have any mushrooms on its back.


    Uses

    Mooshrooms can be sheared for 5 red mushrooms, which turns them into cows. Sheared Mooshrooms cannot be reverted back to Mooshrooms. If killed, they drop leather and raw beef (steak if killed with fire), exactly like cows. Mooshrooms can be milked with a bucket as well, but also can be "milked" with an empty bowl to obtain a bowl of mushroom stew, making them very useful.
    Mooshrooms are uniquely valuable because they give infinite food with just one animal and one bowl -- the only case in Minecraft where you can get food indefinitely without growing crops or breeding animals. This is a big advantage in survival mode. However, they only spawn in mushroom biomes, which are extremely rare (and usually surrounded by an ocean biome).


    Behavior

    Mooshrooms roam the Overworld Mushroom biome in herds of 4—8. Mooshrooms make no attempt to stay out of water, and will bob up and down to stay afloat.


    Breeding

    Breeding a pair of Mooshrooms will produce another Mooshroom. If you shear the baby Mooshroom's parents, the babies will stop following their parents.
    Baby Mooshrooms will walk faster and are followed by their parents. They will not drop anything when killed, but still can be milked and sheared. Shearing will turn the baby Mooshrooms into Calves.

    Pig:


    Appearance

    A pig has pink skin, ears, and a nose. Their eyes consist of one black and one white pixel which creates a wall-eyed effect. They have a short, stubbed tail and their snouts protrude from their face.


    Usage

    Each pig will drop 1 - 3 raw porkchops upon death. Pigs that die while on fire will drop 1 - 3 cooked porkchops instead. Pigs can also be used as a method of controlled transportation with a Carrot on a Stick.


    Behavior

    Pigs typically roam the Overworld in groups of 3 - 4, but much larger groups can sometimes be found if multiple groups come together. When they encounter obstacles, pigs will often answer them by hopping up and down, apparently attempting to jump over them regardless of whether this is actually possible. They make no attempt to stay out of water, bobbing up and down to stay afloat. Pigs' pathfinding is similar to other passive mobs; they avoid harmful falls and attempt to go around obstructions. When led with carrots, pigs seem to "forget" their pathfinding skills: they will often become stuck on the opposite side of a block rather than walking around it, and will blindly walk off of ledges or into fire.
    By right-clicking on a pig while holding a saddle, a player can ride it. The carrot on a stick provides control, causing the pig to travel in the direction indicated. (This significantly simplifies the "When Pigs Fly" achievement, which used to be more difficult.)
    Pigs tend to move more often, but in smaller strides, towards the North-East, without any other variables coming into play. Pigs can be pushed into minecarts to be transported across long distances. Pigs cannot be placed/pushed into boats.
    When struck by lightning, pigs turn into zombie pigmen. This is a very rare event as there are not many thunderstorms and pigs are a small target for lightning to strike. Baby pigs that get hit by lightning also turn into zombie pigmen. Ridden pigs also turn into zombie pigmen upon being struck by lightning. The player will receive 2 and a half hearts damage and be knocked off the mob.
    When spawning pigs in creative mode, you can spawn baby pigs by right clicking on a pig with a pig Spawn Egg.


    Breeding

    Pigs can be bred using carrots on the PC or wheat on the Xbox. It takes about 5 minutes before the parents can be bred once more, which applies to all farm animals. It takes one full Minecraft 'day' (20 minutes) for baby piglets to become adult pigs. The appearance of a piglet is roughly similar to an adult pig, having the same sized heads but noticeably smaller bodies. Piglets mostly stay around their parents until they mature, although the parents cannot protect the piglet(s) from harm.


    Riding pigs

    Saddled pigs are controllable with a carrot on a stick (starting from 12w36a).[1] They start slow but end up going up to 5 blocks per second (5m/sec).[2] Pigs jump when moving, and can climb stairs, slabs, and ladders if moving into/onto them. Pigs also do not respond to carrots after entering a body of water. Pigs "eat" the carrot in a span of time which is shown by a durability bar on the carrot on a stick. Right clicking the carrot on a stick will cause them to have a burst of speed but take the durability off it by a one quarter of the health. It is not necessary to hold the carrot on a stick while the pig is having the burst of speed, allowing for e.g a mounted combat against other mobs or players. Damage taken while riding is dealt entirely to the player, unless the rider accidentaly hits the pig mortally. However, it does not cause any knockback nor any decrease of movement speed.

    Sheep:


    Appearance

    Most sheep upon natural generation have white wool. Others can naturally spawn in black, gray, light gray, brown or pink wool. They have light tan skin and are wall-eyed and have a pink square marking on their face; whether this is the mouth or the nose is unknown.


    Usage

    Wool is easiest to obtain from sheep, as it can be tedious to craft wool using string. Wool can be obtained from sheep by using Shears on the sheep or killing the sheep. Shearing a sheep will produce 1-3 wool. If you have an enchanted sword with fire aspect it is possible to shear a sheep as it dies from fire damage and produce more wool than usual. As of version 1.1.0 sheep regrow wool by eating grass and turning the grass block into a dirt block; they can also eat tall grass. Lambs eat grass much faster than adults. The sheep's head also moves down and wiggles to imitate eating, but a lamb's head goes inside the dirt itself.
    Sheep will drop one wool when killed even if they are killed by Fire, Cacti or Wolves. Wool can also be crafted using 4 pieces of String, but it is less hazardous for the player to shear sheep rather than hunt down Spiders constantly.
    Since beds are one of the most important items in the game, it is very wise to try to locate sheep when starting a survival mode. Without beds, it may be boring and fairly dangerous staying in your house all night.
    A block of white wool can be crafted with a unit of dye to produce colored wool. However, a much more efficient method is to apply the unit of dye directly to an un-sheared sheep by right-clicking on a sheep (any color) while holding it. The dyed sheep can drop 1-3 blocks of colored wool when sheared. When the dyed sheep regrows its wool it will retain the dyed color, supplying an endless supply of colored wool. For this reason, sheep farms can produce infinite amounts of wool and sheep when bred. So if you like to decorate, sheep farms are recommended.


    Behavior

    Sheep tend to be one of the lesser intellects in the game, and have been known to walk into lava. Like other passive land mobs, sheep wander around aimlessly, often spawning in flocks of 2—8. They can be heard bleating occasionally, even from some distance away. When they encounter an obstacle, they will often try to jump over it, which may cause some odd, and rather humorous, behaviour at obstacles they cannot overcome. This can be used with Pressure Plates to create constantly flashing energy, useful for certain piston mechanisms. Sheep can swim and make no attempt to stay out of water, therefore a common sight might be several sheep bobbing in the sea. A sheep's color has no effect on its behavior. Sheep will eat grass, turning it into dirt. This will make their wool grow back if they are sheared. The regrown wool will be of the same color as before the sheep was sheared, regardless of the original color. Packs of wolves may attack the occasional individual loner. If you are trying to capture a sheep for breeding or shearing, it will follow you as long as you are holding wheat. Keep in mind this can get very overwhelming if you are near a large flock of sheep as they will all try to follow you. Or it could be handy if you are making a large farm, which can be done by making them fall into a trench.


    Breeding
    Main article: Breeding
    Sheep can be bred with wheat. Can be bred every 5 minutes. If the parents have 'compatible' wool colors (meaning that the corresponding dye items could be combined into a third dye color), the resulting lamb will be a mix of their colors (e.g., blue sheep + white sheep = light blue lamb). Otherwise, the lamb will be the same color as one of the parents, chosen at random. It doesn't matter if either parent has been sheared. This can be used to obtain large quantities of colored wool, rather than relying heavily on potentially rare dyes. (Lapis Lazuli requires fairly deep mining, and most of the others may be absent from your local biomes.)

    Squids:

    Appearance

    Squid have 8 tentacles, blueish-teal skin and teeth that can be found underneath the head. They have two eyes which appear wall-eyed. Despite being called squid in-game, their body arrangement is closer to that of a real-world octopus.


    Uses

    When killed, each squid will drop 1 - 3 ink sacs that can be used to dye wool. The ink sac, like a unit of dye, can be applied directly to sheep before shearing to make black wool or mixed with varying proportions of bone meal beforehand to yield light gray and dark gray dyes. It is also possible to craft a book and quill using an ink sac, a feather, and a book.


    Behavior

    When moving about, the squid's tentacles open and close, giving them an appearance of pushing themselves forward. Squid will hover in place and wander around one layer aimlessly and do not deliberately interact with the player, except if attacked. It will try to swim away from the player.
    Squid are prone to gather near light under water, such as a Redstone lamp, glowstone or Jack-O-Lanterns.
    Squid could stay alive but become immobile when beached on the land until before 1.4.4pre. From that version they suffocate in air. They can take fall damage and burn like any land mob, but, due to being aquatic they cannot drown.
    Squid (unlike land-based mobs) can swim against a current and not get pushed by it.


    Farming

    Squid, although able to swim against the current, can not swim up a waterfall. The simplest way to trap large numbers of squid is to dig an approximately 8x8 hole three blocks deep at the bottom of an ocean or large lake. The fall of water into the hole will trap squid that wander over it. Complicated funnel and channel systems can bring squid from multiple traps.

    Villager:

    Appearance

    Their characteristic look is dominated by their large, bald heads, green eyes, monobrows, and long, protruding noses. Villagers' arms are implied to be jointed, with two parts each to create folded arms. The arms are tucked inside the sleeves, with the sleeves touching at the seam in the middle.
    There are different types, distinguished by the color of their robes, which signify their role in the community. There are 6 unique skins for the villagers which are found in the minecraft.jar file, but the generic green robe villager is not used in the game on normal maps. Hood texture files are also present, but no mesh currently exists to display them.

    Behavior


    Villagers will randomly wander and dillydally around the area of the village. They have no attack strength, or no attack at all, so they do not retaliate against an attack, and they only run from zombies for their life and hide in their homes. A death of a villager does not affect nearby villagers' behavior, though any natural Iron Golems nearby will attack the player.
    Villagers have the ability to utilize doors and are therefore able to go in and out of houses. Villagers will hide in houses during the night, rain, or when chased by Zombies. Although it never rains in desert biomes, desert villagers will still attempt to hide from the rain; this means they are actually hiding from the possibility of zombies spawning.
    Villagers decide which houses they like. They seem to favor well lit conditions over dimly lit ones, seemingly due to the lower chance of zombie spawning. Villagers favor houses over well lit areas, even if the house is completely unlit. This is probably due to the fact that houses are assumed to be sufficiently lit. Villagers will climb stairs and climb ladders just as a player would.
    If all doors in a village are covered so that villagers may not enter and the time is night, they will carry on with their normal business as if it were day time. If all doors are covered but one at night, the villagers will avoid it, for some reason (probably a bug, or they don't want to be overcrowded)
    Zombies will find villagers from up to 31 block radius to attempt to break down their doors. Villagers will run away from zombies, which can attack the villagers. Zombie Sieges can occur between these mobs, and the villager's only "natural" defense are the Iron Golems, which protect villagers from nearby mobs. Zombies have a chance of turning a villager into a zombie villager if the difficulty is on Normal or Hard, or Hardcore gamemode.(Easy or Peaceful gamemode have 0% chance of villagers being infected. Normal is 50%, and Hard or Hardcore is 100%) This can also happen with baby villagers, resulting in Baby Villager Zombies or Baby Zombies.
    The villagers will "socialize" with each other and passive mobs. This involves two villagers simply facing each other. Villagers can socialize with the player as well, (which happens a lot) if they approach and stand still (they will start moving their heads in a bobbing fashion). On some occasions, villagers will gather in a large group in one point in a village, seemingly without any cause. They are also attracted to pumpkins and doors. They will sometimes appear to socialize with Snow Golems probably because of their attraction to pumpkins.
    When villagers are near an Iron Golem, they will stop and stare at it. The Iron Golems sometimes give roses to the villagers, symbolizing the friendly relationship between the villagers and Iron Golems, as well as referencing the inspiration behind the latter.
    Villagers also will not willingly fall off high cliffs. They will not stay away from fire or lava or change their behavior around fires. They will just carry on as usual and dillydally, and rarely, but possibly, walk straight into the fire and cactus. They will not flee, run, or act differently when being damaged by fire or cactus.

    Mating And Population:


    Villagers will mate depending on the number of valid doors. A valid door is any door (within the city radius) where the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks (in a straight line) on one side of the door is not the same as the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks on the other side of the door. A space is considered to be "outside" if it is hit by the sun during the day, i.e. it is transparent, and has nothing but transparent blocks above it all the way to the sky. (This means that starting a village deep underground, such as in a cavern or buried ravine, is not feasible.) Notice that a door is not a valid door without a roof on one side, or with equal amount of roof on both sides. Sometimes the villager AI (such as mating and housing) doesn't behave as expected until the game is restarted (as in save and quit, then reload the world).
    Once housing has been established, villagers will then mate until the number of adult villagers equals 35% of the number of doors. Any remaining children will grow up as usual, resulting in a total number of adult villagers somewhere above one third of the number of nearby wooden doors. The type of villager that the child is doesn't depend on what type the parents are, e.g., two farmer villagers can have a child that is any of the occupations. Unlike other breed-able mobs, the parents and child have no personal interactions other than socializing.
    The game engine periodically takes a census to determine the current population of the village. All villagers within the horizontal boundary of the village and within 5 vertical blocks of the center will be counted as part of the population to determine if continued villager mating is allowed. However, any villager within the horizontal boundary of the village and within a vertical distance of 32 blocks downwards of the center of the village will attempt to enter mating mode as long as there is at least one villager within the boundary. Therefore, it is possible to create an unlimited population by holding a single villager within the village boundary and forcing all other villagers outside the 5 block vertical range of the census. If two villagers simultaneously enter mating mode while they are close to one another, they will mate with each other and produce a child.
    Villager children will sprint about, entering and leaving houses at will. The villager children will also chase each other around the village to simulate that they are playing tag. These children will sometimes stop sprinting to stare at an Iron Golem. If the Iron Golem is holding a rose, the children will cautiously take the flower from its hands. Although children look smaller than adult villagers, their hitbox is the same size. Villager children can be infected by Zombies. Zombie children will not burn in daylight and run faster. Villager children can be spawned by right-clicking an adult villager with a villager Spawn Egg.


    Zombie Villager

    Zombie Villagers can be cured by throwing a Splash Potion of Weakness at it, feeding the villager a Golden Apple, and then waiting for a certain period of time until the villager turns back into their normal state. A villager who was infected and cured will not lose their profession.
    When villagers turn into Zombie Villagers, they become less reminiscent of an actual Villager and more Zombie-like, with their normally wrapped-up arms now held outwards, much like an actual Zombie, with red eyes, tall heads, long noses, and monobrows.
    Zombie Villagers will continue to attack uninfected villagers even when under the cure. This is why it's important to separate infected villagers from the rest of the villagers during the curing process.
    Villagers have robes and aprons but when infected, they will change their attire to a regular zombie's clothing.
    Villagers will normally take between 180s and 192s but they will be cured quicker when there are beds or iron bars nearby. The speed at which they cure is proportional to (the number of these blocks in a 7*7*7 cube around their feet) * 0.3 + 1. This could be to encourage players to put zombie villagers in some sort of prison cell or a pen.
    Zombie Villagers may spawn from a zombie spawner or egg, and even naturally, (5% chance) and can still be cured
